I need to import an pdf file which contains text in black colour in corel draw X5. By default it import the file in RGB colour model but I want the same in cmyk colour model.

Scenario: A3 12pp bookletI might receive a file in publisher or whatever but colour is generally on most/all pages but the client only wants colour on say cover spread and centre spread pages. I convert this file to a PDF using distiller, then save it as an EPS file to import into Coreldraw. (The step to convert to eps seems very important as I have encountered font and spacing issues when importing PDF into Coreldraw - eps seems to over come this problem)Even saving the PDF in distiller as a Black only file, am still getting the colour click on the printer...
is there any way to isolate say the cover pages and print as colour with other pages as black only I have tried saving eps files as black only but they still register as a colour print on the XeroxWould love to see an option to set properties of individual pages to colour or mono (does it exist?) At present, I have to print all the colour spreads and the black spreads and hand collate together! time comsuming to say the least!
surely there must be others out there with a similar problem? how do you overcome it?If I am designing I can easily ensure pages are black only but not when the arttwork is coming from so many different sources.
Long of the short of it is, when I export a vector graphic as eps format it is changing my pantone colors to black. Not just 100% black but like 2% Magenta, 4% Yellow, 95% black. When I export rgb or cmyk objects, not a problem. It only has issues when it involves a pantone colour.
I have never had issues with this from the past 8 years I have worked with CorelDRAW. This was also something that just randomly happened, no computer upgrade, no major software changes, nothing.
I am currently running Windows 7 64bit with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5.
my corel in printing options like when i want to print text on a black background it wont come in printing..

bought a stockphoto EPS and it looks corrupt when i open it. i see there is a code page select option which seems to affect the graphic, but still much corruption when imported.

I'm working with a new client that is providing CAD drawings in .dwg format. I can import the file, and see the objects in Object Manager, but no objects are displayed in the work area. I am able to import the same .dwg file into a CAD/CAM application and the objects are there. A file with this issue is attached.
When I try to export a bitmap to PSD format or import a PSD file, the filter list does not show any import or export for Photoshop...what gives?

BTW, this is a drawing of a character and is simply b&w lines & shapes on a white background.Line widths vary in the original and we want to be able to modify them even more using all the tools in CorelDraw.
I was able to open the .svg file with CorelDraw but when attempting to 'Edit' a line in the drawing I couldn't change the line width... so it isn't behaving like a CorelDraw vector drawing.
I´m trying to extract text from a Corel file to a TXT file in another editor and then merge it back in.Extracting the text seems to be working just fine but when I´m trying to merge it back in I get the error message "Wrong file format or could not open".

I've tried to convert the drop shadow to bitmap but the result is same.
When I import an eps, or create a new object with a shape tool. The default style is a clear fill and a hairline CYMK black (0,0,0,100) outline. I think I know how to change it to true black (0,0,0,0), but when i import an eps or an illustrator file, it is coming in as CMYK black (0,0,0,100)

I am having an issue with CD X6. I opened a file created in X5 using the new X6 and it worked just fine. The problem is when I send the file to my image setter to image a plate, part of the text in the heading of what is to be printed is getting lost somewhere in transmission. When I view the file in the print preview in CD all the content is there, however, when I view the raster image at the rip station before imaging the plate I notice parts of the text in the heading is missing. I have attached an image of the raster file .
Now when I send the same file using X5 the image goes thru without any issues and all the content is secure. I created a new page in X6 and copied over the text that I am having trouble with and the same thing happens. I am attaching the CDX6 file with all the fonts used.
So since we installed CorelDraw x6 the one file we have been working on is a long text file and it slowes every thing down drasticly.We did think updating would work so we did that and it still lags.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am building a big catalog for hundreds of products, and it would be a life savior if i could connect dynamically the (customized) text (fields) in the .cdr file to an external excel file data. For example smth like the text field "Title" to be taking its values from the column "Description" of the excel file, incrementally as each line of the excel file could represent a record. This way also when the excel file changes, (because it will be probably like 10 more versions before it gets final), the content inside the corel draw file will change automatically as well.

I need to locate or create a Macro that would read a text file that contains
x postion, y position, and diameter.
Each of the 4000 circles in this file are a different diameter. There is no linear progression.
(CORELDRAW X6.3) Today I tried to export a .jpg file (text file) for a banner that was 6ft x 18ft. The export function wouldn't allow the 18ft, but changed it to like 9ft.
Tried in same in X3 and had the same result.
I could export the file as a .pdf and it worked just fine.
The question is, is there a maximum export size?

We have to create a file to be engraved that has 2000 consecutive numbers and we cannot figure out how to make them appear stacked using the merge feature.
For some reason I am having issues converting a CDR file to PDF which contains objects/text with fountain fills.
I have looked at some previous posts detailing the same problem, have followed their remedies, i.e. "render complex fills as bitmaps" in the advanced tab in the PDF conversion pane. Despite these best efforts I am still having the problem of my black background; fixed in the "page layout" tab being corrupted, resulting in the background being the fountain fill once converted.
Do you know if it is possible to use two or more colors with the artistic media brush without having to use the mesh fill .

A lot of the time I like bullets to be a different colour to their following text. In past versions you could highlight the bullet and pick a colour from the palette. You had to do it with each individual bullet which was a pain, but it could be done. Now if you highlight a bullet and then click a colour, nothing happens. I was hoping that this might be because they'd added a function to choose bullet colour elsewhere (such as in the Bullets window), but apparently not.

We have upgraded from CD11 which had very little in the way of colour management and so we are somewhat inexperienced in how to set up.
We have two production printers an OKI 821 and a Ricoh C820DN which we print to using PCL drivers. We believe that we therefore need to use RGB as our colour mode and use an ICC profile for each printer for colour correction with colour management switched off on the driver. Is this correct? We've had a try this afternoon and the colours on the prints differ greatly from the display (which has been profiled using an xrite i1pro calibrator). They also differ from each other.
The monitor profile is set as the device profile in the windows colour system, and we are using that as our engine in corel.
Is it possible to transfer a colour pallet from X3 to X5?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just discovered the proof on /off switch in the bottom right hand corner in Draw. What is this for? I notice the colurs change when I switch it on or off. I work with RGB and produce digital images for people to print out on their home printers to use in paper crafting. Should I have this switched on or off? I notice colours are slightly different when I print my designs off myself to what they are on screen. Is this an important feature or not. I only have a liminted basic understanding of the software and have only recently began colouring my images so don't know much about 'Colour' at all.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm perfectly happy with the TrueType font (BankGothic Md BT), but all the style settings change to the T1 equivalent every time I close, and when I open the file again the T1 text does not show up. I can go through and reset all the styles, then re-apply them, but it wastes a lot of time.
