Feb 18, 2012I am using MS Windows System 7 and printing onto two networked printers, a Lexmark Pro205 and a HPD7460, It seems that when I have finished setting up a page of texts and inserts for a publication the page looks good on the screen and on the PRINT PREVIEW window of either PRINTER software but some of it does not print. The left side of the two column page prints OK but the right side is blank after the first line. The text that flows from page to page to page seems to be alright and the inserts that are not part of the flow text that has been inserted as wrap around text (surround) prints.The is simple missing. The next page of the same article is doing the same thing.
I originally had this problem in another document on the HP but not the Lexmark. Now I have it on both printers in this document.
I was wondering if there are control characters that the printers are acting upon during the print function. Can one see all the control functions on a page before printing or at will?

I'm typesetting a book where the last sections of each chapter should have a colored background, full width of the page (a percentage of the spot color I use). The spot color at 100% is also used for section headings and the like. That means some pages have a completely colored background, for which I made a master page. The first of these pages should only have a background for the sections concerned (the rest of the page should have no background). So I made an object style with exactly the same color and transparency settings as the frame on the master page.I anchor a so-styled frame to the spot from where the page should have a color (so it will always start at exactly the right spot). Works fine.When I print directly from Indesign, there is no problem. When I export it to pdf, there doesn't seem to be a problem either.
But when I print the pdf pages, black text on the page with the anchored frame doesn't show on the background. On the rest of the page it does. Colored text does show, even on the background. On the other pages (with the colored master page) there is no problem either.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Print Merging Graphics
Nov 6, 2013I have a client that I laser engrave parts with a variety of graphics, about 35 different designs that fit on 10 different parts and all the designs are different sizes on the parts. I use a fixture that holds 40 parts, two rows of 20, for each type of part. I have a master file for each part that contains a page with each graphic laid out as in the fixture so that I can simply go to the page and select the graphic in the right position for the fixture and paste it into a "lasering" file. The lasering file is just as many pages as I need to run the order and is much smaller than the master file.
That works fine now and is actually pretty quick and easy to setup, but I just found out that they will be adding about 35-40 designs a month. That will make the master file huge and very cumbersome to manage, not to mention the order sheet (spreadsheet) will get huge in no time at all. I can envision it becoming a nightmare to manage and mistakes will be frequent due to the sheer size of the files.
What I would like to do is have a spreadsheet with the graphic and a quantity and merge that into the lasering file instead of doing it manually. I am very familiar with merging data but I don't know if it's possible to merge a graphic from a database or somehow import the graphic into corel.

Jan 18, 2008When you print a file from corel you have the option to choose always overprint black, but when I make a pdf with publish to pdf in the advanced tab I have only the option to preserve document overprint, and the black text is knocked out. Is there a solution to that, other then manually setting black text to overprint fill in corel?

Nov 5, 2010Again a new version and again the same issue like in all previous versions. One could think that issues solved in one version would not be present in the next one.
Again Corel made barcodes apear in all colours in separations, instead of the logical Black only.
I know I can export to pdf and then import again, change colour to black to solve it, but if you want to keep editability or have to do 100+ Barcodes, this is just annoying.

Scenario: A3 12pp bookletI might receive a file in publisher or whatever but colour is generally on most/all pages but the client only wants colour on say cover spread and centre spread pages. I convert this file to a PDF using distiller, then save it as an EPS file to import into Coreldraw. (The step to convert to eps seems very important as I have encountered font and spacing issues when importing PDF into Coreldraw - eps seems to over come this problem)Even saving the PDF in distiller as a Black only file, am still getting the colour click on the printer...
is there any way to isolate say the cover pages and print as colour with other pages as black only I have tried saving eps files as black only but they still register as a colour print on the XeroxWould love to see an option to set properties of individual pages to colour or mono (does it exist?) At present, I have to print all the colour spreads and the black spreads and hand collate together! time comsuming to say the least!
surely there must be others out there with a similar problem? how do you overcome it?If I am designing I can easily ensure pages are black only but not when the arttwork is coming from so many different sources.

Jan 3, 2012I am new to the forum and new to CorelDRAW X5. I use CorelDRAW to laser engrave text and logos through an engraving machine. Most basic logos are easy to convert right through CorelDRAW, but today I ran into a serious issue.
I received a logo that was very detailed in color and also had numerous different shadows in it. When automatically switching to black and white, the colors get very warped and the shadows take over the entire logo.
How do you go about switching a logo like this to black and white?

Jul 13, 2012I'm trying to print a flier on A6 paper on an HP CP1515n. I set the paper size in Corel 12 to A6, then set the paper size on the printer to A6. The paper feeds through very nicely - with nothing on it.
It works fine printing from MS Word so I am placing the paper correctly.
Using XP Home Edition SP 3.
I am currently printing on A4, then cutting into 4. I have found a cheap source of A6 paper but can't get my fliers to print.
