For printing or mailing purpose, i used to re-open big .psb layer files (2-6GB) in cs5 and cs6 with keybombo "alt" and "shift" while double clicking the document in the finder window (10.6 + 10.7.5), in order to save time.
This is not possible anymore, everytime i open a document this way its white and empty in photoshop.
Just loaded cs5 onto a second computer legally. Any tiff or raw file brought into cs5 appears as a grey and white checker board image. From there its gets even crazier. CS5 works fine on the first computer. both loaded from the same legal disk.

how to get rid of this line? If by setting the eraser color to the background color, how do I do that? As I get rid of the line, I'd also like to refine the figure's outline so it becomes cleaner.
I have a multilayered psd file. All layers should remain opaque except the black to white gradient layer where I need the white to be transparent. So that when I place the final psd on top of a block of solid colour in Indesign the gradient shows the background colour through where the black fades off.

My ACad2006 Layer Combo Control bar appears to be locked. It will only show the current layer and will not show the layer of an object that is selected with the pickbox. I must have accidentally made a change somehow, but don't know how to undo this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI seem to be doing something that causes an empty bounding box to appear in my document and when I attempt to delete the bounding box I can't. It always remains on the screen. When I select any objects in the design, the mysterious bounding box encompasses it and the object. I can even move the empty bounding box to any corner of the artboard and when I select an object it will look as if the object has some hidden content in the corner where the empty bounding box was because it incorporates the mystery bounding box with the object's natural bounding box.
I'm running CS5 on a Windows machine with 8gigs of RAM.
It could be interesting to activate a layer filter from a combobox (I'd like to have this combo into the layers panel) in order to have fast access to the layers beginning to this filter.

Just now I have discovered the ability to add a custom library to the content centre. This appears fantastic as I no longer have to sift through the 10 - 30 or so items available in each category to complete my bolted connection.

I have created a custom library called "My Favourites" and it contains 6 bolt families, 1 spring & flat washer family and 1 nut family. All families are derived from the ISO standard (bar the spring washer which is DIN 128) and all thread pitches for the respective nut and bolt connection(s) match.
The problem I am experiencing is when I execute the bolted connection command I can add the bolt, 2 flats and 1 spring washer yet when I come to close the connection with a nut the nut selection box is empty?
I have the active project configured with "My Favourites" "Inventor Feature" & "Inventor Routed Systems" as the only in use libraries. Secondly, I have verified the existance of the nut(s) in "My Favourites" in the Content Centre Editor.
I am using Inventor 2010 updated to SP3 on a standalone machine, running Windows 7 Ultimate (w/ latest updates)
I have created a proposed centerline along my existing roadway, which represents along my profile. I have created an assembly for my proposed raod with a crown, and a 2% cross-fall in each direction.
But when I generate my sections, all my proposed assemblies show up in the proper location on my section views, except there is no cross-fall showing on any of them? They are all being shown in my sections as dead flat! 0%? I've been looking for a setting to change this.? I have also deleted, and recreated my corridors and regenerate my sections, only to get the same results!
When I use the Layer Isolate command, then use the Layer Unisolate command, everything seems to work fine, as far as displaying the correct layers again. However, when I go to the Layer Manager, I noticed that all frozen or frozen in current viewport are also turned off.
LAYISO set to OFF (use fade?)
This only happens in a maximized viewport, not in model space.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBesides the background layer with a 'B/W image' I created a layer to add some colour. When I use the eraser in that layer, a white haze appears. I've never experienced such a thing in over 15 years of Photoshop use.
Normal, coverage 100%. In the image below clearly to be seen the eraser stroke from left to right. The white haze best to be seen at the darker part.
My photoshop cs3 opens but a white screen appears with no options and i cant work on my document. I tried uninstalling a reinstalling

Yesterday, I took a number of experimental shots (a red phone cord lying on a white background). The white background (an artists white canvas lying on the floor) was well lit from above using 5600K lights.
The shots were all taken using auto focus, auto exposure, etc and in the view finder everything appeared to be correct, but on later viewing the photos, the white background appears to be grey.
I have attached a sample image to show the grey colour.
especially when using the auto mode when taking the photos.
I am not concerned about the picture quality only the grey background and I did not undertake a WB as I thought that this was part of the auto mode when taking the photo. the shot was taken by half pressing the shutter release butto to ensure that everything was OK then continuing to fully press the button.
I have an open file - we'll call it the 1st file. I will add a background and some other images to it that are located in other psd files. But how? How do I get them in there?
I want to add 2 images, (don't worry about getting into selection and pixels, shadows, edges, etc. the complex stuff is easy LOL) Anyhow, I have another file that I open. How do I get that entire image(or file) into the 1st file - into it's own layer - so I can edit, position, and transform it etc. as I need.

What if there's a 3rd image/file that I want to open and add to yet another layer.
Do I simply select the entire image and copy/paste it? I tried dragging it, knowing that would probably be futile. Anyhow, any and ALL advice on this surely simple procedure would be appreciated.
There are some files with at least 8 files that I want to bring together into one image. Same thing, do I cut and paste them, or is there another way?
All of these are psd files, btw. Would it make a difference if one was different, say a jpeg or tiff etc.
I am finding the layer combo control in 2010 an annoyance. The drop down box does not access as many layers as did the version in 2009, and I find myself continually searching through the drop down box to reference a particular layer. How to rectify to have it similar to 2009?

So the motorcycle would be all white but stay within the bounds of the current lines of the bike. I did some digging and it looks like I need to add a layer mask which I did without any luck. When I add a layer mask which option should I choose?
PNG with transparent background that appears white when uploaded on the web.This is how I do the PNG : Once I have the image with the transparent background with the white and grey checks, I go to save for web and devices, putting PNG 24 at preset and the bar under it, transparency checked, and then save. When I preview the image, the background is transparent. Also when I open the image with Windows image viewer, the image also has the transparent background. However, when I upload the image to the website, the background turns white.

I know that I can lay in an AI type layer and save the file as an open .PSD file, or lay it in as a vector smart object and send it as an open TIFF file (along with the original AI file), but the client is using CS2 and can't deal with VSOs. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a large line of text (110 characters) with no spaces in it that I'm trying to fill into a 4"x6" area, with the text wrapping / font size scaling as needed.
The problem is that Corel is breaking up the text at a hyphen leaving a lot of empty white space at the end of the line after the hyphen.
If I remove this one particular hyphen (there are many), then no problem. I've already checked for hidden (newline) characters.
The "Use Hyphenation" option is unchecked and there is no formatting going on other than the size of the text box itself.
When a pdf is taken from illustrator, white lines appears on images. How can be avoided it?
I use illustrator cs5. It occures mostly on the cover pages of brochures which contains images, texts and some effects such as drop shadow etc.
Not sure if this is a bug, or has been previously reported, but using large thumbnails in the layers panel with copied shape layers. You can see that Shape 2 shows content, but the thumbs on the copies appear empty. Not life and death, but those thumbs are useful - when they work.
