I want to know in Photoshop Is there any plug_in that can make envelope distort (distort object to full-fill inside certain area) , something like envelope distort in Illustrator ?
I'm trying to distort a picture to make it fit a cover of a magazine. I read a few tutorials on Envelope Distort and followed directions. It seemed pretty straightforward.
I created a single, closed path that I placed it on a top layer. I placed the picture I want to distort and embedded iton a second layer behind the shape. Selected them together, continued with Object>Envelope Distort>Make with Top Object. But, the picture gets twisted and messed up.
This is what it looks like and I can't think of anything that is interfering with the process. This image will be part of a collage of images that will go on the front cover of my Google+ and Facebook profile.
When I use envelope distort on a a chevron shape, the text warps beyond the shape and new anchor points and curves are automatically added. Here are images of [URL]
I have a problem with the envelope distort function. The left part of the image shows what I want to distort with what shape, the right one is a close up for what it does in the mid corner (straight lines no longer straight... at least the horizontal ones...).
I'm trying to figure out a way to make the baseline of a line of text come to a point (rather than rounding off like an "arc lower") without using an envelope, in CS6.
The technique of making an envelope distortion with the Top Object is very useful, because you can apply the same distortion (that is, the same top object) to any number of objects and at any time.
I'd like to use meshes in the same way. I don't want to apply mesh colour, or any other mesh property than its shape: I just want to use the mesh shape as a re-usable distorter.
(I've tried using the mesh as a Top Object, but the resulting error message is not useful. And I've also tried editing the mesh contents, but this doesn't work as there's no way to replace the contents with other objects.)
I am writing a script using javascript and the ESTK. I am able to access text frames in my document by name and/or id without a problem. However if the text frame is inside an envelope I can not access it using my script.
I'm trying to create a new brush that would create a "square wave" (like this, but only the blue part: [URL] of uniform height. However, the "frequency" of the ridges would increase with increased pen pressure from a Wacom tablet. What would the original vector from which I'm creating the brush look like?
Recently noticed that I cannot Contrain, Distort, Turn an Item using the Shift button and my Selection Tool (V). Did I turn something off in Preferences?
In CS6, whenever I add a stroke to a compound path it causes the shape to distort. Found this video of someone suffering from the same error in CS5 [URL]
still getting used to manipulating (esp distorting) objects. I haven't been able to figure out how to distort just a portion of an obect.
I have an object (a compound shape) with many anchor points, an object made from a scanned ink drawing. It's a helmet with two intricate pieces that come down on either side. I need to make these hanging parts shorter while the rest of the object remains unchanged, so I want to basically select these parts of the object via the direct selection tool and resize them vertically, but all of the distortion tools I can find effect the entire object.
I tried to separate these parts of the object, distort, then re-attach them to the main object, but then I loose the compound shape and all the "holes" on the inside of the object become filled and don't come back even when I re-compond the shape. Also, this seems like an impractical work around to a simple problem.
I can't get certain graphics to scale down correctly correctly.
Take a look at the 2 jpegs enclosed - one solid, the other with 1px outline. The graphic men were originally 40mm tall.
In each case the one on the left is the original. The one on the right is the same graphic reduced to 25% then enlarged to 400%. Both should look the same.
How to stop these distortions from happening? I've tried adding and releasing Compound Path, Grouping and Ungrouping, Selecting and deselecting 'Scale Stroke and Effects'. No combination works!
I'm especially confused about 'Scale Stroke and Effects'. Surely when it's selected, the outline should reduce to 0.25 px. It doesn't - it stays at 1px.
i've only been using photoshop for a few weeks and everything this was working fine till today. There is an small gray "01" and a picture of an envalope stuck in in upper left hand coner of everything I try to work on...
I've been trying to use either displacement or the 3D function to create a realistic looking tattoo on a photo, but even the simplest line image won't bring up the "distort" or "render" option under "filter." I'm using CS,
so I made a displacement gradient map, flat image, I saved it as .psd file, with ICC deselected, then I opened desired image, a jpeg one, I choose filter-distort-displace, I enter 100 horizontal, 0 vertical, strech to fit and repeat edge pixels, ok, select the newly saved displacement gradient map.psd, ok and NOTHING!!!............no displacement, distortion, NOTHING!
what I did wrong? seems like nothing but I must have slipped something out of memory.
I'm working on a Wrap for my Van and designed the initial design concept at low resolution. Now I'm recreating the file at final output resolution and for some reason I cannot use the filter-distort option. Its greyed out, any suggestions as to why or how to fix it?
I have a strange problem that I've started experiencing since upgrading my PC. I was previously running CS4 and Lightroom 2 without problems on Windows XP Pro 32 bit - I recently upgraded to new hardware and Windows Vista 64 bit so that I could use more RAM as I was regularly receiving running out of RAM messages when working on large print resolution files.
i want to change the orientation of the spherize filter after i applied the filter. You know like if i want the effect to be aimed more in one direction other than just centered.
I'm on a Mac with Photoshop CS. I have this tapered swoosh, so to speak, with a layer mask attached to it. When I go to Edit/Free Transform/Distort, I only get a single box when, as far as I know, I should be getting multiple. This singular transform box only gives me as much movement as the regular transform, which isn't enough. Does anyone know what's wrong? It's necessary that I dip the middle of the swoosh and modify the swoosh in ways that only a whole bunch of directional options will handle. Should I be using Warp? I don't have Warp though...
I have created a pine branch. This branch consists of needles. I would like the needle object to be possible to change in the future, so I made it a symbol.
After making the branch consisting of symbol needles (just a bunch of needles, grouped or not), it is not possible to use envelope on the branch and bend it. It can only be rotated or sized. Is it normal? How to create varieties?
I have recently been fighting an override of some sort that doesn't want to go away. As an example, for basic copy command, I would normally select my object to copy, type C, hit the space bar, and select my object again to copy to new location. With this override, I select my object, type C, hit the space bar, and in the command line, this appears:
Command: c COPY 1 found Current Settings: Copy mode = Multiple Specify base point or [Displacement/mOde] : c
