CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: How To Edit Nodes In Envelope
Feb 12, 2013I am unable to select nodes and edit or delete them when using an envelope. I double-click or click and drag, and nothing happens. What do I need to do?

Sep 16, 2013What I want to do is something like the envelope tool, but actually stretch an image from the center-points (kind of like the old pincushion settings in a CRT monitor):
I played around with the mesh warp tool, but that thing seems nearly impossible to fine tune even when I use the magnifier.
The tool "Warp Brush" would probably work with some delicacy, but seems to be exclusive to Paint Shop Pro, and the smear tool obviously will not work...
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Stretching Text Width In Envelope Or On Path
Jun 21, 2011Is there a way to stretch the width of text, once it is in an envelope or on a path? You can adjust the kerning(spacing), but I don't see anywhere that you can adjust the width of the letters.
An example: I have the word MAVERICKS on an arched path in a design. I want to change that design for the RAMS, so where it says MAVERICKS it will now say RAMS. The problem is RAMS is a much shorter word and I need it to stretch to the same width as the previously used MAVERICKS.

Mar 27, 2011Color nodes are blue by defaut. When I draw something with blue, I would like having red nodes, or another color. I guess there is a set-up for that, but I realy don't find it.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Resize From Center Using Nodes
Oct 4, 2012I'm trying to find a way to do this:
Make an object (eg an hexagon), and resize it from it's center radially, by dragging a node (and not those black squares). What I got so far, is, using the pick tool, clicking on it to go to rotation mode, hold shift and ctrl, clicking on a node (eg, from a point or the middle of a side), and dragging it.
It works IF i change it's angle, but strangely, if I keep the same angle (just resizing it), nothing happens, neither it gets resized, neither i can clone it (with right mouse click). It only keeps a blue shadow of what would be the object, without doing nothing.
What I want to do with this is, for example, create a square and an hexagon inside it, allign one of it nodes with a node of the square, and resize the hexagon by draggin another node of it until it touch (using snap to objects) another side/node of the square. As I said, it can be done if I resize by the rotation, but only if I change the angle, wich is strange for me.
Am I missing something? It's really weird that I can almost do this without problems, but then nothing happens at all. I wish I could show this visually, would be way better to explain the problem.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Reducing / Smoothing Nodes?
Oct 18, 2011Trying to recreate logo. Traced text. The text is too rough. I've selected it, click the shape tool, and the Smoothing bar does not work. It stays at "0" and does not effect the selected curve.
I've tried just drawing a shape with jagged edges and the Smoothing bar still does not work. Am I missing a step to make the Smoothing bar apply?
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 :: Connecting Two Nodes Of Different Objects

I'm working in Corel Draw 12 and I have a problem to connect two nodes of different lines which aren't the nodes at the beginning or end of the lines. That problem I've solved, (by selecting both lines, then using function combine, selecting for e.g. starting node of first and ending node of second line and joining them) but I really have hard time making this out. The function join isn't apparently working for nodes in the middle of the lines.

Oct 16, 2013So I will jump right to the issue. I like to make my edits occasionally in wireframe, and as I began to manipulate or move nodes around, the minute I finish editing the first node or a group of nodes, all of the nodes vanish. The only thing that is present in wireframe after they disappear is the object (or line that I am editing) no nodes.
Now, I have learned that if I zoom in or out, they appear again, I would have to continuously do this in order to make edits in wireframe. I do not have this problem in Enhanced View.

My graphic card is up to date; however, I dont believe this is a graphic issue due to the fact that I can edit in Enhanced view without issues.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: Making Nodes On A Default Curve
Oct 3, 2012This has been a feature in CorelDraw for as long as I can remember so I'm hoping that buried in options or customize it can be changed.
When you draw a curved line, the nodes default to Symmetrical rather than Smooth. Symmetrical nodes adjust both sides of the curve when you move the node selection handles which I rarely use. Smooth allows you to adjust once side of the node without effecting the other but still maintaining an in line alignment.
if you can make nodes on a curve default to Smooth rather than Symmetrical?

Dec 5, 2012I would like to know if some users have the same problem : when I vectorize manually a bitmap with the polyline tool of CorelDraw X6, sometimes I have two nodes very close (I don't understand why because I do one click with my mouse...). I change my mouse without improvement.Do you know a macro to clean my polylines and to transform the "double" nodes in a single node (adjusting the gap distance) ? The reduce nodes feature in CorelDraw is not nice to do that.

Jan 30, 2012I have a CDR project I am working on. As I work, I occasionally click the "save" icon to save the work. When I am finished for the time being, I am unable to click on either the "X" or "Exit". The program doesn't respond, and I have to go to the Windows Task Manager to shut down CorelDraw. Because of this, the work is not saved. I have Windows 7, and I also have all of the X5 updates installed.

Apr 3, 2013I am running CorelDraw X6 and I am having a strange issue. I have it installed on a PC with windows 7 64 bit, and CorelDraw is also 64 bit. The issue is that when I have a string of text and I try to edit it via the "edit text" box, it wants to shift the text down a row after closing the box. so if I open and close the edit text box lets say 5 times, the text will be dropped down 5 spaces. This problem does not occur if I use the text tool on the left side toolbox, only if I use the edit text box. Also, I have another PC with almost identical hardware, and it does not have any issues. I have tried installing .NET, C++, and many other tricks to try to fix it. I have reinstalled CorelDraw, and I have up to date drivers for my graphics.

Apr 5, 2012We have just purchased X6 and are having difficulty editing a bitmap. Its unable to be selected.
After reading your posts here we have tried the following which we find quite annoying for a new program.
Surely this is something simple we have missed. All we have done is installed the X6 and run the program , clicked on a bitmap and nothing ??? This has really left a bad experience especially when we just purchased this program and it cant even edit an image. The customer support was terrible , I had to ring back because the person couldn't hear me about 8 times. It was only a search on the web that led me here.

Apr 28, 2012I created a bitmap in draw 15" x 131" then right clicked the image and selected "Edit Bitmap". The image grew to 19" X 131"... I did this again just to verify and got the same results. I resamled the image back to 15". This is a big concern as we process all our printed images this way.

Nov 30, 2012Applying contour to a text and trying to apply a drop shadow afterwards, the drop shadow properties can not be set.
No matter what item you select in the Object Manager, the drop shadow toolbar's controls are all disabled.
PS: I just noticed this is true for the drop shadow tool in CorelDRAW X6.2 in gereral. I'm not able to edit any of the drop shadow properties.

Apr 20, 2012I have just run CC Cleaner and Glary Utilities , which we have been running for years , and every time it removes the Edit Bitmap link menu, in other words it greys out.

Jan 27, 2012I have recently upgraded from X4 to X5 and while when I first installed it I was able to click on a bitmap and get CorelPhotoPaint to launch - it now says Failure to launch server application. I have tried the F8 tip while opening both Paint & Draw, repairing the installation (from both the hard drive and the disk), and removing and reinstalling. I used to have X4 and even X3 on my system but have removed both of those versions. And yes, I have associated the files although within Corel the ticked boxes do not seem to stay put.

Aug 24, 2011Is there a way to edit the transparency of a dimensioned object? I have many complex objects and sub-objects with transparency fills and all individual parts dynamically dimensioned. I find I cannot edit the transparency of any part that has a dimension. Surely there must be a way to do this...?
My dimensions are color-matched to the fill parts, and the text dimensions and dimension lines are different sizes and weights making it very time-consuming to delete, edit transparency, and then recreate the dimension with all the desired properties.
