Illustrator :: How To Unite All Sections

I am digital printer and I am running into an issue printing an .EPS. I can open the file in AI ( I've used AI5 and 6) and all the layers are the layers are there and good. The only this for some reason the file has been cut into a pile of clipping masks and groups. I think all those layers and sections are causeing wierd transperancy issues. Any way of possible flattening the whole thing? I am attaching screen shots of what the file looks like .This is what it looks like with all the objects selected in AI5 this what the layer pallete looks like this is what it looks like as a pdf. Notice the outlined boxes. They shouldn't be there. When printed the bottom right square, the one with the play symbol in it, comes out discolored. Also there is a discoloration behind the stacked white items.how to unite all those sections?

When I attempt to Unite this text (converted to outlines) with the rectangle above it - the objects are distorted. The top image is before uniting the object, the bottom is after.

I am a newbie in illustrator. I want to use pathfinder to unite two paths. One path has the effect of bulge. When I unite these, both of the paths get the effect bulge. Why is this happening and how can i avoid this?

I want to unite 2 shapes with stroke. After that, the new shape will receive "Expand..." or "Outline Stroke" and at the end, when I want to scale the shape it becomes like in the image. I made "Preferences">"General...">"Scale Strokes & Effects" and "Scale Tool">"Options">"Scale Strokes & Effects".
It doesn't matter what shape I want to create, the result is the same. How can I solve this?

I have this compound path (green in the print screens below) which I would like to apply a bevel effect on.
It seems as if the compound path is fine but when I apply the bevel effect, the result is as image 2. How can I solve this so that all of the beveled effect is smoothly and unite instead of rectangles popping out etc... ?

I have three gifs that I use as the logo for my store. I'm migrating the store from an old fashioned html site to Zencart. Problem is that Zencart will only allow one image for the logo.
Using paint.net, how do I unite these three into one image? Also, the outer two images are animated and of course I want to keep them that way.

I want an 8 x 12 piece of art. In the process of creating the image, i had to use a drop shadow. However, some of the drop shadow that I dont care about ended up going over the 8" x 12". No problem right? I simply copied the object with the shadow, put the copy on top of the object, highlighted both and made a clipping mask. The end result was perfect -- it clipped off the drop shadow that was extending over the nice white border and even off into space.
However, when I tried to export into a jpeg for print, the result had the correct size white border on the top, but the other sides were too big. Sometimes I miss a stray dot or random line that is far off of the artboard, and deleting the stray stuff corrects everything. But this time everything was fine. I realized that although the clipping mask cut off the drop shadow, illustrator still registered the drop shadow as being a part of the image and taking up space. So the jpeg doesnt show it, but the deminsions are all off.
My question is whether there is a way to manually cut off parts of a drop shadow without using the clipping mask like I did.

I've been asked to produce a timeline to be printed 110cm deep by 410cm wide and wall mounted on Foamex.
The time line will be made up of individual panels - one for each year. 2010 / 2011 / 2012 / 2013 / 2014...
The reason for each year to be printed as a separate panel is to prevent 2013 being plonked on the end of previous years - hope that makes sense! (Each panel will be a summary of the year.)
Ideally I would like to design the timeline with a flowing background graphic so I would need to create the main background as one, then exactly crop each year panel to print individually.
What I'm unsure on is how best to crop each year including bleeds ect so when butted uptogether the design looks seamless.

How can I divide a line into equal segments in Illustrator? This is computer software, right? Shouldn't a computer be able to figure how to segment an arbitrary line? I tried turning the line into a sliced object and dividing that, but it didn't seem to work. Pathfinder only works on two or more objects.

I'm looking for any options that could remove the hidden sections over numerous overlapping objects. I have plenty of objects that lay over each other in this design, and now my client is thinking about getting it screen printed. Is there a shortcut for this that would save me a mass amount of time? (other than using Pathfinder on each and every one?)

For a project, I happen to have a shape which uses gradient meshes and I need to apply it to the 3D perspective grid. Short of rasterizing and Envelope Distorting everything, which is far more tedious here, the problem I'm having is I can't get clipped areas of a selection to be discarded.
Maybe it sounds too complicated now, but I have a sample file detailing the issue. [URL]
Ideally, I'd want that clipped shape to be workable with its actual visible 4x4 dimensions. Any of the other shortcuts to put this in perspective won't work. Envelope Distort regards the clipped portion. Rasterizing it includes the clipped portion, even if nothing is there. It makes the selection 5x5 when it should be 4x4, the visible portion. The Perspective Selection tool also regards it, offsetting the group by the invisible bounds. What other option do I have left where I can keep the outer clipped shapes, but work wi

I have created a polar grid in illustrator with many sections. I want to be able to enter text in every section of the grid and not just along the path lines. How do i create text frames so each grid section within the polar grid is separate and therefore allows me to click on it and enter text. I would also like to change the colour of all the polar grid sections individually. I think it might have something to do with threaded text but not sure.

So i have this piece and i need to be able to colour different sections of the stroke around the whole piece with different colours. Also, i need to be able to change the width uniformly on sections between anchor points. I DO NOT want to use live paint as it takes away the sections of stroke i have tapered off already, however, the effect you get when using the live paint selection tool is exactly what i need
Is there a way of doing this at all?? It seems that i should be able to do it but i'm not able to find the right button, option or combination of both.......

I have a small problem, trying to print from R 2013 some pdf's of a long section of a building...aprox 30 m.With a scale of 1 to 20 ,,,the pdf just looks bad and unclear when you get to zoom a little bit in it.What am I doing wrong,although I use settings like highg quality pdf and so on.

We just upgraded a project from 2012 to 2013. After upgrading, there are two floors which do not show up as cut in any sections (they displayed correctly in 2012). The two floors in question appear in the section, but not as cut elements (no cut pattern) and it is showing edges of the floor that should be well behind where the section is cut. One floor is 8" concrete and has been made to slope using the modify sub elements command. The other floor is a variable thickness floor modified in the same way to be the earth below the concrete floor since the topo is not nimble enough to follow the shape of the concrete floor.
I tried remodelling the floors. No luck.
I can model it in a separate file, cut sections in that file and have it display correctly. If I insert or paste that into the main model, it goes back to displaying incorrectly.
Our structural engineer had copied the lake floor into their model which is linked into ours, so I deleted the lake floors in the structural model, reloaded it and then remodeled the floors again. And it worked... in only one of the dozens of sections that show the lake floors! So that's one more than before...
In one of the attached images you can see the sloping lake floor and the earth floor below it as it should appear and in the other image you see them both in elevation rather than section. The 3d image shows the lake floor and the surrounding "earth floors". The center of the lake floor is 7'-0" below the outermost perimeter of the floor.

I have a structural model linked into my architectural and I cannot seem to cut the link in sections. All I can see is the 'elevation' of the link whilst my architectural cuts. I have the link set as by host view and the view extents correct.

I need to create a positive space triangle in photoshop. I know how to create a triangle and fill it with colour but I don't know how to make different sections within that shape so I can assign different colours to each section (a positive space triangle has horizontal bars of each colour of the rainbow inside it).

I have a 3d topographic survey plan. I need to take sections at various locations and would like to know the best way of going about this.
I am used to working with solids and so would normally just take a section plane but this won't work as the 3d topographic survey plan I have is made up of polylines.

I'm using "horizontal section" to make plan drawings of 3D circular columns in an xref-ed drawing. In the x-ref the columns exist as 3D solids made from extruded circles.
Regardless of my VIEWRES setting, the resulting 2D circle discretion is way too coarse and is presented as a polygon on my drawings.
The same applies to solids made in the same drawing, by the way, so I don't think the xref-ing has anything to do with it. Is there a to adjust this for sections?

When i am designing a layout and i want to put the sections on the left side or the right side with a nice font and blend or filter for the name of the section if the size that i have to work with is limited and i have a lot sections how do I add those sections if the canvas I have in photoshop isnt big enough to put all my sections?
Also, do i just put the name of the sections right under eachother and then slice some sort of content box under them or do i space them out a little bit to put a content box? These parts are really confusing me and I have been trying to figure it out but i cant.

Best way to divide a DWG file into sections? I`m trying to building a data base for construction work to build houses on a city, and the database call for a map that came from a gps device, that is on DWG format. now this image is full of squares that represent the new house locations, the problem is that is one whole image representing the whole city, I was wondering if there is a way to divide this image into sectors to represent the houses location when i do a printout.
