I've draw a blue spiral surface and I got to place text along this black hub line, so it should look as text is printed on blue spiral (perspective and all).I had an idea to outline text, narrow it on one end (to achive perspective) and make pattern brush. But it's pretty hard to tweak path to look realistic (somewhere text is wide and somewhere is narrow, and looks messy).

Ive tried many different ways, first rasterizing the text and then, skewing it, distorting it, putting perspektiv on it but it just doesn't look right. the first text row looks god, but the next ones under it just kind of floats away in other directions.
if this is easy, but how do I calculate the volume of concrete needed to pour a cast-in-place spiral stair?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe 'saying' I am trying to create in a spiral format is 165 characters and spaces. I have pasted it into the spiral effects text box. It will only accept 65 characters in the text box.
If I use the circle effect, I can paste all 165 characters and spaces and the circle adjusts to the size where the entire saying fits into one circle.
How do I expand the amount of characters and spaces the spiral text box will accept and use to create the text image I want?
I select a shape and choose file > place to place some text in it, though the text does not display, the stroke also disappears indicating that it seemed to do something.
View 8 Replies View RelatedCurrently we create presentation documents InDesign. Each presentation page is a linked Illustrator file (the file contains drawings and description texts). We write the text in Illustrator instead of over it in InDesign because multiple designers/writers will work on each page. We have text that sometimes appear on multiple pages, this text has previously been copied and pasted into each Illustrator file that it needs to appear in, this is inefficient and prone to error.
Is there a way to link to a text file in Illustrator that remains updatable? I poked around here and found information relating to Variable Data – things similar to Data Merge in InDesign. This isn't the solution I'm looking for however. It seems like a plugin or script is the solution.
I would like to place a small square in front of multiple lines of text. I want to use it like a square that would be used as a checklist.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have some text spiraling inward along a path (about 20 words). How can I make the individual words (or characters) fade as they near the center of the spiral (while leaving new words at the start of the path at their full opacity until they too reach the center)? I've played with various parameters (including start, end, and offset - and opacity) and have come close, but can't quite get it - and after completing spiral, text sometimes becomes opaque again and heads off at tangent to last segment of spiral.

But, the image seems to be multiple spirals in a uniform and equidistant manner. I would like to know how to go about making a "vortex" with multiple objects very similar if not the same to this fashion.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue exporting my AutoCAD civil 3d model to 3d dwf. I have exported my model to 3d DWF and am viewing it in Navisworks. When the model is viewed in the full render mode the material surface is not in the correct place, it appears to several hundred units (the model is several km2) lower in the Y direction then it should be. In autocad civil 3d when the surface is selected and displayed in the object viewer it is displayed correctly. Is there any reason why this is happening or a workaround to fix it when exporting.
Notes: AutoCAD Civil 3d 2012. Navisworks 2012. Surface render material is a Jpeg. When I originally referenced the Jpeg the surface was mirrored (I understand this is a common problem with the software) and I had to mirror it along the X axis so that the Image was upside down but the material viewed correctly. It is not upside down in the 3d DWF, just moved down.

A client sent an InDesign IDML file. I opened it at exported its stories as .txt files.

When I tried to place the texts in a new InDesign CS5 document, the text displayed strangely. Mostly, I see rectangles with exes through them. It looks likethe headers of an unreadable format. Some of the characters are normal alhabetic glyphs.

When I open the text files in TextEdit, they display normally. If I copy and paste, the texts look fine in the InDesign document.

When I try to create a multileader the text size is throwing me off. I draw the arrowhead location and landing with no problem, then the text box pops up. As I am typing the text into the textbox it shows up on the screen as if it was a text height of about 5, however it is actually 0.18. As soon as I click off the text box to complete the multileader the text shrinks down to the actual size of 0.18.
I want the height to be 5 but when I change it to 5 the text box shows up as huge, like it is about 200 or something even though it is actual 5. The textbox takes up most of the screen, as soon as I click of the text box to complete the multileader it shows up as a normal height of 5 and looks correct. This is so annoying. Multileader is the only tool that does this. A simple multiline text box works fine; as I am entering the text it is the same size the entire time, visually and actually.
