Photoshop :: Create Bounding Box To Place Text
Aug 1, 2012
I'm trying to create a website mockup in Photoshop. I'm trying to create a bounding box where I can place my text,. Can I do this in Photoshop elements 10 or just Photoshop cs5? If I can do it in Photoshop elements 10, what tool do I use and can i make the background transparent?

Im Trying to add text using a bounding box.
When I drag the box out to the size I want and go to type the insertion curser doesnt appear. when I type something nothing appears no matter what size or font of text I use.
I've tried making the picture bigger but it doesnt work. When I go to delete the type layer it registers that I typed something and askes ifI want to delete it but it never shows the text in the box.
Ive even onpen new windows and it does the same thing whether I use white, transparent or background layer settings.

We use AutoCad to name our dxf files for our Burn Table and whenever we get a new part it is a repetitive task to input layers and common text. So what I am curious is can AutoCAD input the layers and text automatically using a Macro?
I want the Macro to put in 6 layers and choose the layer color and title then input text boxes with word in 3 different layers. There will be about a total of 10 different text boxes with text already put in the boxes by the Macro.

I wrote a dimensionroutine and want to put the dimensiontext on a home or upper position depending the space the dimensiontext needs and is nearby the last created.
With the boundingbox of the dimensiontext I hope to calculate if the dimensiontext will fit between his two dimensionblocks

I am struggling to properly align text because the bounding boxes are not centered around the text. Therefore, when I try to align it with another object, it is off. I am using CS 6 and, generally, the point and type tool. it might be the type of font (that perhaps they are "bad" fonts) but it doesn't seem to matter which type of font I use. The bounding box always has extra space underneath the text, even when using a very standard font like Times New Roman.Â

Exactly how does one change the size of the text bounding box, without scaling the text or changing the font size?I have a method now, but it is very inconvenient. I am looking for something to improve workflow.

I would like to fit text to a bounding box's width.
So for example, if I have a bounding box with the with 10 cm, I should be able to type text in it, multiple lines, and the text should then fit itself to the width of the bounding box by going up/down in size, so the height of the text also changes accordingly.
Â
Does it make sense?

I use the bounding box (vla-getboundingbox) to assess parameters of blocks. Â These blocks have text on some of the faces that extends beyond the simple dimensions of the blocks themselves. Â I'm wanting to have bounding box ignore the text and can't sort it out. Â I've tried putting the text on a separate layer and turning it off and freezing it. Â
I've considered looking at sub entities and filtering out the text but I don't know if there is a solution here or not. Â

I'm using Illustrator CS6 with a file that someone else produced. Many of the area text bounding boxes are way bigger than they need to be. In Freehand, I used to be able to double-click on a corner of the bounding box and the box would automatically resize itself to just fit around the text (loved that feature!). Is there something similar in Illustrator? Or do I need to go through and manually resize all the bounding boxes by dragging them smaller?

Left: 'vertical align bottomed text with the box of black stroke
Right: manually moved text with smart guide to align with its base line.(what I want to achieve)
Â
As you can see in the left one, text has its base line under itself, and its bounding box doesn't match its base line. when I use align, it doesn't align using its base line but its bounding box.How can I make text align using their base line easily?

I have a tag block that calls out details. The attributes are the detail number and the page the detail is located. I was wondering if there was a way that the bounding box around it could grow or shrink depending on the width of the text.

I'm trying to watermark a whole bunch of my photos with an Action, but I need to know how to align the text to the bottom right corner, like by percentage. Using pixel values won't do me any good since every image is a different size. Anybody know a way, or some alternative to get this effect?

I want to place some text on a box i made in photoshop, but the box is kind of standing sideways so i have to find a way to re-shape the text so it fits the box's surface.
Ive tried many different ways, first rasterizing the text and then, skewing it, distorting it, putting perspektiv on it but it just doesn't look right. the first text row looks god, but the next ones under it just kind of floats away in other directions.

Do the following
Â
- Open LR 4.0
- Chose a Collection set
- right click, "Create new Collection"
- The collection is created in the previous collection set and on in the one selected.
To me. It is more logic to place the new collection in to the selected collection set and not next to .

I'm able to get Vanishing Point to work up until I place the text into the grid I've created. It then becomes too big for the grid so it looks as if the grid has cropped it.
Â
it's supposed to say OCCUPY on the ground but instead it's getting cropped and you're only seeing part of it. The original type I placed into the grid was not that large. How can I make sure the text stays within the grid at it's original size?

I am trying to create a sloped wall by creating a mass in-place. First I draw a line on a surface at a pre-determined level that I've set up in elevation. Then I offset this line in the vertical plane. My next step is to offset this second line so that it is not directly above the original line, but offset in the horizontal plane.  How do I change from a vertical to a horizontal offset? I’ve tried different work planes, but they all offset vertically.

I purchased a template for magazine advertising purposes. The images have been taken out but there are custom designed objects (masked shapes) where I am supposed to place my images. When I attempt to place a photo into one of the shapes, using the Place Command, it does not work.Â
How can I place an image into one of the objects?

We have just started using Civil 3D. I need to be able to create an assembly that will place a sidewalk at varying offsets (it is too random to make seperate assemblies). I have tried making an alignment of the back of the walk and attempted to use targets in the corridor to achieve this .
I will attempt to attach the DWG that I am working on. The Main alignment is PR-1 as is the corridor and the alignment that i need the back of the walk to follow is PR-1 BWR.

I would like to create a command that will copy a file from one place to another.
I can do it directly from the commandline like this
But when I try and put it in a command macro in the CUI editor like this
^C^C_shell;copy "c:/temp/drawing1.dwg" "g:/temp";
it does not seem to work. It comes up with this on the commandline
but no copy of the file is made.
How can I get this to work without having to write an external file, such as a script or lisp?
