View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using cs6 on a macbook pro with retina (dunno if that matters).
i noticed a while ago that the sizes of my documents in photoshop are smaller than normal. Im not sure if this is a resolution issue, but in illustrator, indesign, after effects everything looks normal sized. I am trying to create a thumbnail in ps that is 310x225px. When I place the psd in illustrator it becomes 74.4x54px. Creating a new document in ps with both resolitions 72 and 300 result in the same size artboard. I'm not sure if this is something simple I am overlooking, but I don't want to have pixelated thumbnails in my mockup. There must be something I can change to make photoshop create normally sized images.
I need to create a 100 wedges 'spinning wheel' graphic (like a pie chart but does not require pie chart functionality) with each wedge of equal size and spacing but can't seem to find a process that works.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow does one remedy this Adobe error message? "Can't scale the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too small to use." This one always gets me. I'll spend more time trying to find the object in question. This has happened in almost al versions, but this time it's CS5.

In the *.cdr file, the holes are seperate objects/circles with a precise angle between each of the holes and I do not want to change that angle.
Is there a function, that I for example select two holes, write the distance between them and it makes it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a need for a macro that I am thinking would be pretty easy to create... I need a macro to cycle through all objects on a page and IF it finds an object that is LARGER than 13" wide, it will unproportionaly size each object to exactly 13" wide (leaving the height of the object alone.) and then after all of the scaling/sizing is complete then to select all objects and right align them (Like when you select all objects and hit the letter R key.

View 9 Replies View RelatedCan anyone advise how I can draw (from scratch) a 6 sided shape.
I cant post an image on here (as I'm a newbie to this forum its going to be hard to explain without an image)
Superman Logo
and then rather than a point at the bottom imagine a flat extra line (so it then has 6 sides rather than 5)
I can make a 6 sided shape no problem, but it always has equal length sides when I first produce it,
So I goto
Transform>skew
(as I would image I could change its shape with) it just never looks right.
I take it I either want to drag the corners in and out or to perhaps input the details of size/length/angles etc (but I imagine this will take too long).
It is even possible to make this image in 1 go?
I was using a custom size of artboard in illustrator, but I now I want to change it to A4 size for printing. However, when I change it to a A4 size artboard, the size of objects on that artboard remain unchange. As a result these objects do not fit the new size of artboard. Are there any way that I can change both the size of artboard and objects at once?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI work at a university and have logos shared with me from other designers, most of which are working on Macs and I'm working on a PC. When I open the logo and select all, the size displayed is 227.5417 inches x 227.5417 inches. The last one I received, the actual size of the logo was 2 inches x 1.75 inches. How do I get Illustrator to display the actual size of the logo?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a question, quite a tricky one. Is there any way how can I copy and paste position and size of two objects?
Let's say I have a circle 2 x 2 cm and it's position is y 5cm x 5cm, I have a square of size 3 x 7 cm and it's position is y 0cm x 0cm.
How do I copy and paste in a single command/step the circles position and size to square, so I can get square of 2 x 2 cm and it's position 5cm x 5cm?
Something like copy + paste in place with a different logics. I hope You understand what I want.
I'm doing it now manually, I'm copying size and position of one object to another [ctrl + c > ctrl + v] but it takes quiet a while,
I have a number of objects stacked on top of each other and I want to make a hole through them all so that when I save the finished artwork as a web image the hole will be transparent. A bit like a donut but it's not just a circle with a hole in it. It's all these other shapes piled on top of each other.
I've thought about the Eraser Tool but my hole needs to be quite precise (and there are to be four separate holes). I have looked at making a clipping mask but I can only really find tutorials that show me how to clip like making a photo vignette and I've thought about Pathfinder.
What is the best way to achieve the effect below, where the square conforms to the shape of the D? Also, how do you make objects or text give way to other text, such as the attached Ugg logo or similar? I know you could put a white stroke, but then that makes the object itself look smaller.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs the topic says, I need to make 2 points in two different objects to stick to eachother, so for example when I rotate a line which is "connected" to a square object in one end, the line will rotate around that point.
Also, if I have lets say two square objects and I "connect" one of the corners of one square object to another corner of another square object, where the points are located exactly on the same location, I need to be able to rotate any of the square objects around the point which is connected to the other square.
Is there any way to make multiple objects with various colors set their respective stroke color as their respective fill color and vice versa(so their fill and stroke color will be the same in result)? or do I need a special script for this?

I load a PNG in Illustrator. However when it loads it doesn't load right. It loads HUGE. When I try and move it, it says:
"Can't move the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects too large."
Why can't Illustrator just open a bloody PNG and allow me to edit it?!
I have set up a 20x20 pixel grid and I want to easily try out a few mockup layouts. No matter what I try, Illustrator simply does not snap to grid. I have to zoom in really close to align each shape.
Surprisingly it does not snap to guides either, leaving me completely hopeless. I have snap to pixel on and all objects are set to align to pixel grid.
I found this script that makes the selected objects the same width AND height. I am very new to creating scripts. is it possible to modify this to make an object the same width leaving their heights the same?

I have a grid of objects—say, tiny squares. I'd like to make arbitrarily-shaped selections of those objects—for instance, select a star-shaped group of the squares. Or a circle-shaped group of the squares. Or use text paths to select letter-shaped groups of the squares.
I could imagine a utility that lets me choose an arbitrary shape/path, and then turn that into a selection of objects on the canvas. Is this possible?
Right now I'm stuck using the lasso tool to hand-draw shape selections but it's not accurate enough for what I need to do.
I am working on a banner in illustrator and have added 3 photos which I sized originally in photoshop, however I have placed them onto the banner and now need to resize which I have done, but they are now not evenly sized and on close up they are not in a straight line either.
