Illustrator :: Space Between Multiple Objects?
Nov 13, 2012Is there a way to alter the space between multiple objects without changing the objects themselves? Kind of like inflating/deflating a balloon with dots on the surface (the dots would get bigger/smaller). I've tried Transform>Move>Distance, and Effect>Distort & Transform>Transform>Move>Horizontal/Vertical, but both methods just moved all selected objects away from the origin point - no change to the space between objects.

Jul 26, 2011I have a series of images that have been designed - very basic shapes (a straight vertical line with a ball on top in which ascending numbers are placed in each one. So effectively each image is made up of 3 seperate parts and look like numbered lollipops. Each of these images are currently evenly spaced apart and formatted so the text is all properly aligned and sized etc - I would like to be able to copy certain groups of these images and paste them into a new working document which is fine, but I then need to somehow re-space them out to scale once they've been pasted in. So for example i have copied them in and they are 20mm apart to each other (as per my original drawing that i copied from) - is there a way of then altering this spacing so that for example so that they are all 33mm apart but still retail the original formatting properties so they are not stretched etc?

Sep 11, 2012I have always been able to highlight separate objects in model space, and now i can only do one at at time??? I click on the second object, and the first one stops being highlighted.
I don't know if somehow i changed a setting on accident, but i don't know how to get it back to be able to do multiple separately.

May 1, 2005How can I increase my work space (the photoshop file open) ? I've tried Image > Image Size but when height or width is changed, the whole picture is enlarged to fit into the new size.
I would like to keep the image and simply add 200px to the bottom of the file, is this possible?

AutoCAD .NET :: Change Hatch Size (not Pattern Scale Or Space)
Nov 18, 2011I need to change the hatch size (not the pattern scale or space, juste the hatch size).
Exemple : I have a circle, and a hatch inside the circle. The radius of the circle is 10, so the radius of the hatch is 10 too.
What i want to do is to make the hatch smaller (or bigger) like this : Circle radius : 10, Hatch Radius 5 (or 15).
My first idea was to recreate a new circle with radius 5, and a new hatch inside and then erase the second circle. It works, but not very effective in my case.
So, it's why i came here to ask if there is any solutions to make this faster, easier, without having to recrate another hatch, another circle...
Illustrator :: White Space Between Objects?
Mar 3, 2014I seem to be having a problem to where there is white space between objects and no matter how many times I intersect paths I still have white-space between objects. Obviously if you are making some sort of illustration, even a pixel worth of white space could prove to be problematic. we are seeing white space between the blue and purple objects.

Jul 22, 2013But when using a nested smart object (meaning a smart object within a smart object) Photoshop CS5 doesn't display the correct file size (at bottom left) or seem to account for the nested smart object file size. Is there a "setting" I’m missing to accurately display what the true file size is?
The Problem: Using multiple nested smart objects that I have reduced the size of my image to be 260x200 for web export. Photoshop CS5 won't let me save a file that appears to be only 3mbs claiming it's over 2 gig's. See image below.
Really not sure what to do about this, the company I work for makes lots of changes so using smart objects is necessary for my work flow. But also seems to be slowing me down trying to figure out issues like this and is problematic when it comes to saving all the work I have been doing.

But I want to maximize the view port size such that (for example) the dotted line to be the defualt view port size in the paper space.

I am working on a project where I need to select multiple RGB objects that have all different (but specific) color values and edit just one of the values (eg. green) without affecting any of the others. I know I can use various effects and adjustments to do this, but I need the resulting color formula to be precise. This is because I am creating color charts and swatches, so the formula within each swatch needs to be exactly what its label says it is.
The CMYK channel mixer saved me hundreds of hours when I did a similar project in CMYK and prompted me to make a donation to the author at that time.

I have expanded letters and joined their paths so that there are negative space, I was wondering if it were possible to fill in the negative space with a clipping mask? (like one would with an object like a circle or rectangle) The letter that I am using is an A and I have connected two A's together like a diamond reflecting each other... Is it possible to create a clipping mask to cover the negative space of the inside of the letters...?

Dec 11, 2013As seen in the attached image, I want the red arc shape to cut out from the green logo it is sitting on top of, while also having the red arc dissappear and reveal the transparent bg. I have tried a bunch of different ways that I have read from these forums but none of them seem to work. Obviously I'm missing something. The green shield logo is made of multiple objects. The closest I got was the arc shape cut out from some of the objects of the green logo, but not all of them, and the arc shape didn't cut out as an arc, but rather as the original rectangle. The arc is created with a regular rectangle with arc effect.

Mar 23, 2013I am using stokes to mask out a shape I want. I want to remove these strokes altogether but retain the masked shape.
So for example the below image has three circles with a white stroke to form the shapes I desire.
I am perfectly happy with this when it is on a white background but I want the strokes to be transparent rather than white so that they cannot be seen on a non-white background (see below).
Obviously if I just make the strokes transparent I lose the desired shape.
This is what I am trying to achieve (this was done in Photoshop but I want to achieve the same in Illustrator).

Oct 28, 2013I made 3 circles one inside the other. each has a stroke applied. I created 2 triangles and joined them to make an hour glass shape. I placed the hour glass over the circles.
Now i am trying to use the hour glass to cut the 3 circles below. It ends up looking like a spider web. In these photos the antennae is 2 shapes and on top of the layers that hold what i have described.

Jun 2, 2013I'm looking for a way to draw a single, solid object and then divide that object into multiple objects using the pen tool; not other objects.
Ex: Draw a solid cirlce, use the pen tool to draw lines over said circle (visually creating different shapes), then [do something] with both the original circle and the pen-drawn lines to actually create the new shapes/objects.
I've done this before by placing other OBJECTS over the original object and then using the divide or trim pathfinder toggles, but using other shapes (even the line tool) has its limitations.
