View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever two shapes are stacked directly over top of one another there seems to be a phantom line at the edge of the top shape. At first i thought it was a way to indicate to the user that there are two shapes stack agansit one another. but when I export the graphic as an image, the phantom line is included. This is also the case when using a clipping mask. (image example below)
A few work around that I've used are exporting the file with Art Optimized (Super Sampling) selected in the Anti Aliasing setting. Also, manually creating a sort of ink trap around the bottom shape so that it doesn't reach the edge of the shape above it. Sometimes this becomes a painstaking task when dealing with complicated objects.
As a designer who works with screen printing i'm weary about sending the production file to the printer because of the possibility that they will not understand this glitch/setting and i'll end up with phtanom lines around objects when printed.
I have pale of different objects with diferent sizes, which i want to transform to 250*250, how can i do that?

I want both the road and the woods to be opaque except where the woods overlaps the road (I want the wood to be partially transparent at the overlap). Example of the effect I want is shown below. I don't get this effect when trying to use blending transparency modes. I'm sure it can be done with the opacity mask but I've tried all sorts of combinations and not managed to get this effect.

In the *.cdr file, the holes are seperate objects/circles with a precise angle between each of the holes and I do not want to change that angle.
Is there a function, that I for example select two holes, write the distance between them and it makes it?

Is there a way (plugin?) to add values on top of Illustrator Stacked Bar Graph? In the picture attached the numbers on top of the chart color areas are inserted manually. In powerpoint those can be added automatically.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Recolor Artwork dialog does not replace the color of objects filled or stroked with pure black, either CMYK or RGB. (Yes, with the Recolor Art checkbox selected.) The dialog will replace any other color, but not black. Not even a manually created rich black. Manually selecting another color from the Color or Swatches panel does change the object's fill or stroke.
This happens with both CS6 and CS5 under Windows 7 x64. I reported it as a bug on the prerelease site. Also not sure if bug reports are still being read for the released version.
I am trying to get any stacked text in my illustrator file that is a single frames such as with carriage returns such as:
1
2
3
4
5
to be individual text frames.
Is there a split command I can use?
Im thinking it would start by finding all the textframes that have carriage returns is the carriage return identified as " "
I know we all feel the difficulty in how ancient the graph / table tool in Illustrator is.
But, is there a way to display Data Labels on the front of my stacked bar chart?
See attached image - this is what I want to achieve.

i noticed a while ago that the sizes of my documents in photoshop are smaller than normal. Im not sure if this is a resolution issue, but in illustrator, indesign, after effects everything looks normal sized. I am trying to create a thumbnail in ps that is 310x225px. When I place the psd in illustrator it becomes 74.4x54px. Creating a new document in ps with both resolitions 72 and 300 result in the same size artboard. I'm not sure if this is something simple I am overlooking, but I don't want to have pixelated thumbnails in my mockup. There must be something I can change to make photoshop create normally sized images.
I am working in Lesson 5 of Adobe Illustrator CS5 Classroom in a Book, and am having a problem selecting the 2 anchor points to distribute equal space based on the bottom center anchor point of the violin. The note said to reference chapter 2, which I have already been through, but even after reading the Illustrator Help dialog on pg 75, I am still at a loss. how to distribute this equal spacing of 2 anchors relative to one anchor point?
View 23 Replies View RelatedI'm simply creating a word on an artboard "Item #1" at 90pt bold and centered to the artboard. I now want to copy it a couple of times on the same artboard by holding down alt + shift and dragging beneath it to create new copies of the word with the goal of printing this artboard and using a paper cutter to make evenly cut labels.
1. How do I create a consistent amount of space between each label when I drag each copy down?
2. If I already have the labels on an artboard, how can I space them out so that there is an even amount of space between them?
It does it every 4-6 times which is really really often since you brush about 10 times every 3 seconds or so when digital painting especially when shading, lighting, blending, etc with brushing.
Why does it do this? I cant recall when it started doing this but I think it was either when I updated from CS4 to CS6 or maybe it just randomly kicked in. I already updated my drivers and re-installed my tablet.
Here's an extremely simple example.. It works with a circle or a square, obviously because it has the same height and width. The problem is when you have irregular shapes, (or in this case, an oval). I know I've seen solutions to this in the past, but I just can't think of how to word this question and find them again.
I know you can create multiple strokes for an object in the appearance palette, but I'm looking for something more effective than just having colored stroke > white stroke > colored stroke> white stroke > etc.
Here's a couple examples of the kind of effect I'm looking for.
In the animation I am working on, I need an object to instantly go from 100% opacity to 0% opacity. The problem is, even if you use the opacity of the layer as a keyframe, the object will not instanlty vanish, even if it is only on for the timeruler for a quick amount of time.
I need a tool that will drop from 100% opacity to 0% instantly.
I am saving a PDF from Illustrator CS4 that contains only 100% black text. My print provider is telling me that the text in the PDF has been converted to 4C, rich black. I have tried all different PDF creation settings (high quality, press quality, PDFX3, default) from Illustrator but nothing works. How can I create a PDF that maintains 100% black and prevents it from converting to process black?
