Illustrator :: Change Opacity Of Multiple Colors After Performing Live Paint Merge?
Jan 9, 2013I recently created an illustration where I need muliple colors on 1 document. I did a command + a to select all, then I went to object->live paint->make. After I added my colors I tried to change the opacity on a few of them, but the opacity for the entire document changes. Is there a way to get around this.....or do it right?

Oct 5, 2012What I really want to do is on our fire alarm blocks we have 3 different attributes one for the address, the candela and one for misc info. I want to make an attribute that takes the number from the candela (15,30,75or 110) and change a different attribute to a value depending on which candela we use (such as 15=.078, 30=.113, 75=.195 or 110=.259). But I don't want the .078,.113,.195,.259 to print out on paper, I want to export block information excel file so I can add up all values.

Jun 3, 2013It used to be that if I took, for example, a flattened image, and I duplicated it as a new layer (cmd-J), inverted it, and set to 50% opacity, it more or less cancelled to a flat grey. This is how it was from photoshop 3 through CS5. I just noticed that is not the behavior in 13.0.4, rather fill acts as opacity used to, while opacity now solarizes. Is this a bug or is there some reason for the change?

So i thought i would highlight the section(300px x 50px) with the rectanglar marquee tool, which gives a dotted rectangle, now i thought by changing the opacity slider over on the right side in the layers palet then this would work, but instead the opcaity for the whole image is still changed, how do i have only the section i want to change the opcaity for?

Similar to when you can change the linetype and linewieght, is there a precentage that allows to dim lines? Like when you insert .pdf plans as underlay, and you can actualy reduce the opacity. So that when you plot the plan drawing, some lines look solid black, but some are almost impossible to see? Or should I just change the colour of the line to light gray?

The reson why it dissapeared is because when i pressed L-L on my keyboard to show the audio waves, but instead i must have pressed something wrong or maybe the layer the layer want selected.

Aug 26, 2013It does it every 4-6 times which is really really often since you brush about 10 times every 3 seconds or so when digital painting especially when shading, lighting, blending, etc with brushing.
Why does it do this? I cant recall when it started doing this but I think it was either when I updated from CS4 to CS6 or maybe it just randomly kicked in. I already updated my drivers and re-installed my tablet.

Aug 20, 2012Well, so far I"m zero for four in trying to get LR to let me do trivial things the way I'd like, but let's give it yet another try........
I ALREADY KNOW you can use the "[" and "]" to change the size of the spot removal circle. BUT, I'm trying to get LR to work as much like Photoshop as possible 'cause the inconsistencies on small things is a surprisingly large hit to productivity.....
In PS I can change the size of the clone or heal using Alt and the mouse. Change both size AND opacity.
Is this buried somewhere in LR? If not, is there a way for me to define this command in the translatedstrings file?

Feb 10, 2014In the animation I am working on, I need an object to instantly go from 100% opacity to 0% opacity. The problem is, even if you use the opacity of the layer as a keyframe, the object will not instanlty vanish, even if it is only on for the timeruler for a quick amount of time.

Jul 31, 2013I'm having trouble exporting an Illlustrator CS3 file to PDF. I have two layers in the the .ai file that have opacity masks applied. When I save the file as a PDF, the two layers with opacity masks seem to disappear (or they are flattened down to white/100% transparency.) They do not show on screen nor when printing. I've tried opening the saved PDF in Illustrator to investigate, and the layers are still there, but with no opacity mask. Where am I going wrong? I've tried a new file with a simple shape and a simple opacity mask, and it exports fine to PDF. So something is wrong with my file set up, but I can't pinpoint what! I have also tried exporting to various versions of PDF, and nothing works.

Also, when I type in the coordinates and want to delete the decimal place example, 23.756 to 24, I try clicking in the place and hitting backspace or highlighting the 3.756 and entering 4, it will hurry and highlight everything so when I backspace it delets all or when I enter the 4 it will highlight all and put the 4 so my object flys to another part of the art board.

Aug 28, 2012So, I'm having trouble with CS6 Ai and the artwork link with the Opacity Masks...for instance, I have placed a black-white image that I am using as a "grunge effect" mask over a group within my artwork. The problem I am having is that when I do one of two things (move the artwork itself or copy/paste the artwork into another file) the mask does not remain. I have the little link selected on the opacity mask that says "Link to artwork". I also tried "Expanding" the artwork to no avail. Am I missing a setting or something that would allow me to "finalize" a piece of artwork that has an opacity mask applied so that I can use it elsewhere?
I opened Ai on my office computer and tried an opacity mask and it worked as far as moving the artwork around within the same artboard. But, if I copy and paste the artwork to a new Ai file, the mask does not remain. Is this normal?

Jun 15, 2012I'm having a repeating issue and I can't seem to find a proper answer on how to fix it. When I'm saving out a file in AI, all the objects that I want to show are at 100% opacity and it looks right. When I save out a PDF (High Quality Print - Don't keep editing capabilities) the object is repeatedly somewhat transparent.
Top image is the AI file and the bottom is what the PDF turns out. Lower quality with the PDF image since it's blown up so much.

I have inserted a block in modelspace, I have the BlockRefID and now want to change its attribute values. This finds the attributes tags but doesn’t write the sValue. Why it isn’t writing the value to the block.
