AutoCAD 2010 :: Make Stacked Less Than Or Equal To Symbol?

For example...TEMP IS >= 20O F
** I have found this problem still exists ranging from AutoCAD 2007 - 2010 **
I'm trying to insert the "greater than or equal" symbol in an MTEXT box. Normally, I just grab the old trusty Character Map utility in Windows to find my symbol and copy/paste into the bext box. The funny thing this time is that it forces the font to be Arial (I'm using Simplex on all my MTEXT objects). Here's something else strange: If I change the font in Character Map to Simplex, there ISN'T a greater than or equal symbol but there IS a less than or equal symbol!
So the next thing I tried was a straight Unicode entry in MTEXT. I first tried "U+2264" for less than or equal and got my nice, simplex symbol but entering "U+2265" still forces an Arial font! Is this simply the way it is or am I missing something here?
A friend asked, and I had no answer - what am I missing here? .ai file
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to reset the stacked text globally on a drawing? Or is the only way to select text individually and update it a hundred times or so?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn our older 2007 version, we used the command %%140 (and so on) to make the stacked fraction 9/16 in our string of text. Now with version 2010, all of the fractions (where this command was used) display as a question mark. This is a major issue since now all of our isometric drawings are displaying this in regards to text.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a logo that is a jpg file Xref'd into a title block xref file. In my sheet files IMAGEFRAME and OLEFRAME are set to 0. They are set that way in the Title Block file as well. I still have some sheet files with these system variables set to 0 that still print the border around the logo.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like the size of bearing to be included in addition to existing data to the File name, Part number and Browser name like for example the DIN 625 T1 does. I have copied the DIN 625 bearings to the custom library. I have added required info to File Name building and to the Part Number building in the custom library and now my Filename and Part Number are as I like to.
But I cannot find how to force the Browser name to be equal to Part number or File Name? [URL]

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan anyone advise how I can draw (from scratch) a 6 sided shape.
I cant post an image on here (as I'm a newbie to this forum its going to be hard to explain without an image)
Superman Logo
and then rather than a point at the bottom imagine a flat extra line (so it then has 6 sides rather than 5)
I can make a 6 sided shape no problem, but it always has equal length sides when I first produce it,
So I goto
Transform>skew
(as I would image I could change its shape with) it just never looks right.
I take it I either want to drag the corners in and out or to perhaps input the details of size/length/angles etc (but I imagine this will take too long).
It is even possible to make this image in 1 go?
I work in autocad 2010 and I draw in scale 1:1 . What an annotation scale is, moreover I have never used annotative objects in my drawings.
Nonetheless, when I try to plot a drawing, while I am in the model view, I choose the scale in mm/units, I select the plot area and when I press preview or plot, I get the message THE ANNOTATION SCALE IS NOT EQUAL TO THE PLOT SCALE. DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE?
I press yes, I print it and the outcome is always a bit smaller than it should be.
When i am in the layout mode and I try to plot, I dont get this message. But I dont know how scaling works in this case. For example I want to plot in a A4 paper, scale 1:100. So I type 1000mm/100units, as I did in the model mode, but the result is wrong.

Is there a way to make the Breakline symbol (found in Expresstools) annotative? So it scales according to the Annotation Scale on the lower status bar, and in paperspace.
edit: I just noticed that Leaders don't work in Paperspace either. Linear Dimensions, however, do.
Autocad2010 there is a blue triangle preceding layer name in property box on some layers as shown on attached image. Sometimes these layers are turned on when viewing paperspace, sometimes they do not show up.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe attached picture is me trying to balloon a part. I would like to just add some notes to the balloon so that I can update them manually but all I can find is to have a symbol. So I created a symbol, the insertion point for the symbol is shown. For some reason I get an extra number and the symbol offcenter. Why is this happening? What I'm really looking for is a balloon that is fully customizable so that I can just add text to the top and bottom and fill out the details.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Inventor's playing with me... When I use Leader text and type a fraction, a message box pops up asking me if I want to stack the fractions. I don't, which has always been the default, so I just hit "Enter". Suddenly, it's decided to go ahead and stack them, and now the box does not come up, so I can't tell it not to. Where do I choke it to get it back to not stacking the fractions, or at least give me the option box?? R2010, S.P.0.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to override a dimension and I need it to be a diagonally stacked fraction (8 1/4). How do I do this?
I know there is a box in properties for text override, but it won't stack my fraction for me.
All my dimensions are coming out with the fractional portion being stacked. That has become a problem for clarity reasons and I need them to come out diagnally. Is there a way I can set them to do this automatically and not have to go back and change them via the editor?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way to convert many regular fractions to stacked fractions without editing each one. View 2 Replies View RelatedSystem variable to keep a stacked fraction with the leading number?
We open the same drawing on different computers at work and on one computer the number will be 21/2 but on the next computer that opens the same dwg the 1/2 will have been bumped down to the the following line. I don't know if this is a problem with the autostack properties, although I can't find anything about that, or if its a problem with the tabs.
I'm completely at a loss and its becoming a problem because if one person opens a project to plot it and it looks fine but the next person opens it and every mtext in the dwg is wrong it becomes very time consuming to fix.
Is there a way to edit the text in a symbol instance without breaking the link to the symbol?
a really simplen example would be several instances of the same button graphic but with different labels.
I know these things are possible in Fireworks, but couldn't find a way to make it happen in Illustrator.
Is there a way to "eval" or dynamically set a symbol name that has been parsed from XML to build a symbol path? For example, I'm trying to dynamically set a variable to the path of a sysmbol already on the stage, but it's not working correctly:
var xmlSymName = $('symName', this).text(); // where symName = "sym4" from a parsed XML node
var whatPOI = sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("sym1").getSymbol("sym2").getSymbol("sym3").getSymbol(xmlSymName).getSymbolElement();
Basically I have a lot of points on a map and I'd like to be able to name the points along with other data like tooltip callouts, etc populated via XML then loop through the XML to build the points of interest on the map. If I can get the above working I can place that variable path reference into an array and grab the data from it later. But the path is not working the way I have it.
