AutoCAD 2010 :: Reset Stacked Text On A Drawing
Apr 18, 2012Is there a way to reset the stacked text globally on a drawing? Or is the only way to select text individually and update it a hundred times or so?

View 1 RepliesWhen using RomanS, how do you stack fractions in single line text? AutoCad will do it automatically in multiline text but I am having trouble in single line text.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do I set it so that when I type fractions in a text box it automatically keeps them as non-stacked fractions rather than horizontally or diagonally stacked?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the dragged state, I don't want to use 'As Composed' because the label is composed to be parallel to the line, but I want it to flip to horizontal to the view when dragged. This is working fine with 'Stacked Text'
What is not working is the text justification. I want it to remain centre justified, as it is composed. But there doesn't seem to be any option for this when you use the 'Stacked Text' option for the dragged state. I thought that setting the 'Leader Justification' to false might do it, but that just makes it always left justified. Am I missing something here? Is there no 'Top right/bottom right/middle center/top left.....' option for Stacked Text? And if not, why not?
I'm in 2011.
Is there a way (key combination) to make a stacked less than or equal to symbol?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOn our older 2007 version, we used the command %%140 (and so on) to make the stacked fraction 9/16 in our string of text. Now with version 2010, all of the fractions (where this command was used) display as a question mark. This is a major issue since now all of our isometric drawings are displaying this in regards to text.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to set default to stack diagonally? It used to work automatically, but somehow it turn off so that every fraction I write needs to be highlighted and then converted by pressing the a/b button.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use diagnol fractions in my label text for 1/2 and 1/4 deltas. It displays and seems to work fine in Autocad, but when I plot, the numbers have trouble displaying themselves.
I'm using a light color from our .ctb, so I thought that was the problem, but that doesn't seem to be the case (I tried two heavier lineweights and it only got worse). Increasing the percentage size of the fraction also has no effect.
I am trying to get any stacked text in my illustrator file that is a single frames such as with carriage returns such as:
1
2
3
4

to be individual text frames.
Is there a split command I can use?
Im thinking it would start by finding all the textframes that have carriage returns is the carriage return identified as " "
I have a drawing with numerous text fields that I'd like to replace. For example, there are 30 different text fields showing a dimension of 19.298". I need to replace all of them so that they show 19.125" instead. Is there a quick way to swap out the text without having to do it one field at a time? Is there something that would allow me to do it globally rather than individually?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSomehow my X and Y are set to 2412.14 and 4868936255!!!
I have tried to reset these to 0,0 but to no avail.
I saw this feature in a drawing but can not figure out how:
Within a text box is linked to the file name, if I close and rename, when I open the file name is his name changed into the drawing with DWG extension including. How do I do this?
I'm the IT nerd and haven't used autocad before, but i'm trying to troubleshoot an issue with one of our users who is having this issue. From what I have seen, when he loads a drawing, I can see a whole heap of unidentified object messages down the bottom. The drawing loads, but it's missing all the text (mostly the dimensions).
He's told me that he can load it 4 or 5 times, and it will show up, but it fails more than it works.
When I went to convert my finished CAD drawing into a PDF the text came out blurry, information was missing, and the lines were also blurry and still colored, even though the plot style was set to greyscale. I tried opening the file up on another computer and it still did the same thing. I ended up copying the drawing into a whole new document and messing around with it to get it to finally print to PDF properly, however, I would like to know why this happened and how it can be fixed if it happens again. I have attached an image of the PDF that printed out poorly, and the final proper PDF so you can see what it was supposed to come out as.
View 6 Replies View Relatedbefore when reset scale it will have 1:1000, 1:2000, something like that.
now when reset it is same as autocad. which is like 1:1 (should be 1000), 1:2 (should be 2000)
what changed? i know it's just the name but this is bad. shoudln't change something like this all the sudden. hopefully is some variable.
working in metric.

Is there any way to reset plot files in publish without opening each drawing indvidually and resetting the plot file?
I am attempting to create a tag system that will have a 5 digit number but must be printed as shown below

We have to create a file to be engraved that has 2000 consecutive numbers and we cannot figure out how to make them appear stacked using the merge feature.
When I purge a drawing, the text styles are not a selectable option (as if there are no purgeable text styles). if i use (-purge), it will purge the unused text styles. I can also go into the Styles dialog box and delete the styles. It happens in all drawings and nobody else in the dept has the problem. I can't find any settings that would exclude any items from the purge dialog box as well. Autocad 2012? windows 7 64 bit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAccording to the documentation the FRAME system variable overrides XCLIPFRAME, IMAGEFRAME, etc., has four valid values, 0, 1, 2, or 3, and its initial default value is 3. While editing a drawing, I set FRAME to 0, and then some time later, tried to set it back to 3. AutoCAD refused to accept this value, saying "Requires an integer between 0 and 2." Typing (SETVAR "FRAME" 3) at the command line also failed. The only way I could get it back to 3 was to use UNDO to go back to the default value. Is this a bug?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn my drawing I have set my UCS to a gridline (I'm drawing up a survey from a construction site), named the ucs 'square' and then set Plan view to Current so that it is nice and square to the screen. I saved the drawing in this plan view.
However, when I reloaded the drawing this morning, my 'square' plan view has become 'World'. Also my 'square' UCS has disappeared from the list of UCS's. I thought this was just a funny bug so I typed 'UCS' followed by 'w' hoping the world UCS would go back to the real one, but nothing happened. As far as I know it is not possible in ACAD to rename, alter or in fact do anything to World UCS (for good reason), but this is what ACAD appears to have done all by itself.
Luckily I have all the site gids saved in their 'world' orientations so I can get round it by a simple bit of copybase/paste/rotate, (but it means my dimension text is all going to be skewiff).
As a caveat I should add that I am a very exprienced ACAD user (7years) and regularly work in 3D in all kinds of views and UCS's and I've never had this happen before.
One of our users has managed to get the workspace kind of messed up. They have some toolbars, but only a fraction of the total, and the ribbon menus are just blanks. The odd thing is that if someone else logs on to that machine and starts AutoCAD everything is fine. We've uninstalled AutoCAD and re-installed it and it has no effect at all. The user's workspace is still all screwed up. Is there some SIMPLE way to get the program to reset to all the factory defaults or something?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhich settings or where do I go to set my drawing Style, Text height and line space factor on all my drawings in one shot. It is frustrating going through many drawings changing it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI created some custom linetypes. When I copied them over to my drawing, the text in the linetypes came in extemely large. I really need to get this figured out as I am setting up a template for a new customer, and they want all these included.

My AutoCAD Architecture 2012 system was acting funny so I reset it and lost my build panel under the home tab. I tried to right click and select it in the tool bar but it was no longer there. How do I get this tab back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAny way to REset all values of a block after scaling it to 1,1,1, without afecting its actual size on the screen?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am working on an AutoCad drawing (Vers. 2013) that I got from someone else. I am setting up my drawing and right clicked my sheet tab as usual to go to the page set up manager. I set up my printer, ctb, paper size etc. But when I try to set my plot size to 1:1 it won't retain it and reverts to 1"=1'. It will however let me switch to anything other than to 1;1 (ie 1:10). I checked some existing drawings and the problem doesn't show up. So it's just this particular drawing that's messed up. I checked my drawing units and drawing setup commands and they are the same as I always use.
So the question is why won't let me use a plot size of 1:1?
Using Elements 9 I was adding black text to a .jpg image. Somehow during the process, the text being entered defaulted to a "wavy, illegible set of characters". Spent 30+ minutes looking at FAQs and have given up. I want to reset to default simple clear black characters. Closing and restarting Elements does not resolve this issue. When ending a newly entered set of text - still get "wavy, illegible set of characters!"

View 3 Replies View Relateddrawing up faceplate artwork for our company. It has text on it and at the last design review I was mentioned that they want the text to be all the same "aspect ratio", ie. an "o" in the one object should be exactly the same size and shape as in the other.
The problem is that I cannot seem to be able to do this without replacing all the text from scratch.
In a program like AutoCAD I can specify text width and set it at, say 80%, but I can't find a similar function in CorelDRAW.
Eventually after I copy and paste with the clipboard enough times within one drawing, the ability goes away and I can no longer copy and past one item from one drawing to a separate drawing. I need to use the clipboard function because that is the only way of getting an item from one drawing to another.
I have download a clear clipboard function but it doesn't work. Closing CAD and restarting does not reinstate the function.
