All my dimensions are coming out with the fractional portion being stacked. That has become a problem for clarity reasons and I need them to come out diagnally. Is there a way I can set them to do this automatically and not have to go back and change them via the editor?
View 6 RepliesIn older versions of IV I thought that fractional dimensions were automatically changed to decimals in the sketch mode (part modeling) and you could change it to fractional if so desired. In IV2012 they stay fractional, is there a way that I can't find, to make them convert to decimal at the global level or better always show as decimal as standard. I know I can change them at the individual level.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAt our plant we try to place all the parts for an assembly on one drawing. i am now working on an assembly with most of the components being fabricated in the shop and using fractional dimensions. However there are a couple of parts that will be machined and should be dimensioned with decimals. When I select a dimension and attempt to alter it it changes the dimension style of the entire drawing. Is there a method of changing only the desired dimensions and not all of them? I could use dual dimensioning and maybe hide the undesired set but I don't know if that would work either.

I thought it would be in the styles editor, but when I open that up, I don't see ANY dimension style listed (see picture). I also tried right clicking the actual dimension to view the properties, but that only lets me change the decimal precision (also attached). The help file mentioned the "ANNOTATE" tab, but I don't even have that tab on my ribbon so I'm guessing it's unique to autocad?
I am using Pro X3 with Windows 7. I opened up MPG video I captured from HD Canon camera yesterday, then trimmed it from the original size to get one portion before dragging it down to the video track. It ran very slow that way, so I dumped the project.
Thought if I opened up the original file (11 GB), it would be fine and I could start over but cut it from the video tract rather than the clip, but now the portion I had trimmed is blacked out for video on the original "raw" MPG file but the audio is there. I tried it numerous times. On the thumbnail for this original clip, there is the video icon in the left upper corner but also two little video icons next to that. What did I do wrong? and what do the two extra video icons mean?
When I pull the same original (raw) MPG file up in Windows Live Movie Maker it is fine.
How do I set it so that when I type fractions in a text box it automatically keeps them as non-stacked fractions rather than horizontally or diagonally stacked?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Inventor 2012. Is there a way to force a fractional display in 64ths? Like, I know all about changing the dimensional precision to 64ths... but even when doing that, if you have a dimension that is ".375", w/ 1/64 precision set, it will still display as "3/8". I need it to show "24/64". Because apparently we have people using rulers who don't know how to use rulers, and apparently it has been decided that it's better to have them always count out the 64ths, then to teach them about crazy, mind-bending concepts like "16ths" or "8ths"...

I have a dimstyle with primary units format set to "Fractional" and would like the inch (") marks to come in. I know i can add the inch mark as the suffix, but is there a better way? Archetectural and Engineering formats both include the inch marks and this makes sense to me. But if "fractional" format is not inches, then what would it be?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using parameters from a .ipt file to display dimensional information on a drawing file I have created (the fields colored red are the parameters it is reading). How do I get them to display as fractions instead of decimal? I want it to read 5"1/2 instead of 5.5", for instance. I have tried inputting them as fractions in the parameters dialog in the part file, but no luck, they still come out as decimal.

This would be for standard, not custom cc parts. I read that you can save a cc part file as a template with the G_L parameter set as fractions, and then use it to replace the family template in cc, but that doesn't work (or I'm doing it wrong). It worked once, then stopped? I know there has to be a way of doing this.
I tried exporting values from cc as custom iProps, then tried to populate description iProp with these, but that doesn't work.Â
I work in a large printing company and we get artwork from all over that has dodgy CMYK colours (quick convertions from RGB obviously). We have noticed that these colours don't rip as well as rounded CMYK colours, so we spend a lot of time cleaning them up and rounding them down...

I'd like to be able to just run a script that does this to a whole document, including the colours inside gradients. So if for example the number is .5 or below we round down, or above we round up.
My Inventor's playing with me... When I use Leader text and type a fraction, a message box pops up asking me if I want to stack the fractions. I don't, which has always been the default, so I just hit "Enter". Suddenly, it's decided to go ahead and stack them, and now the box does not come up, so I can't tell it not to. Where do I choke it to get it back to not stacking the fractions, or at least give me the option box?? R2010, S.P.0.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOn our older 2007 version, we used the command %%140 (and so on) to make the stacked fraction 9/16 in our string of text. Now with version 2010, all of the fractions (where this command was used) display as a question mark. This is a major issue since now all of our isometric drawings are displaying this in regards to text.Â

We open the same drawing on different computers at work and on one computer the number will be 21/2 but on the next computer that opens the same dwg the 1/2 will have been bumped down to the the following line. I don't know if this is a problem with the autostack properties, although I can't find anything about that, or if its a problem with the tabs.
I'm completely at a loss and its becoming a problem because if one person opens a project to plot it and it looks fine but the next person opens it and every mtext in the dwg is wrong it becomes very time consuming to fix.
I'm trying to use diagnol fractions in my label text for 1/2 and 1/4 deltas. It displays and seems to work fine in Autocad, but when I plot, the numbers have trouble displaying themselves.
I'm using a light color from our .ctb, so I thought that was the problem, but that doesn't seem to be the case (I tried two heavier lineweights and it only got worse). Increasing the percentage size of the fraction also has no effect.
How to set default to stack diagonally? It used to work automatically, but somehow it turn off so that every fraction I write needs to be highlighted and then converted by pressing the a/b button.Â

I created holes in the model as a 1/4" tapped hole
Yet when I show the dimensions in the drawing they show the minor dimension.
How do I get the 1/4" to show? I have selected the feature and still get these results.
I wrote the code below (allow the user to pick points in different viewports and then override an existing dimension's text with the difference in X values. The (hopefully) last issue is that the fractions should be vertically stacked and at 100% text size.Â

Also be sure to pick the 'aligned dimension' method and not the 'linear dimension'. I hope that works in Revit as it does in AutoCAD.

Procedure appears to create halos around items of contrasting colors, amounting to about 50 px in thickness. See Halos.jpg, attached.2. The image is of a daylily having abundant texture on its petals. Near the border of the composite, running parallel to the border, are ~200-px bands of pure color, i.e., washed-out areas, containing pure, featureless color, where there should be texture. Please see defocusbands01.jpg and defocusbands02.jpg, attached Further details: Photos were made with Leica DMR 10 Mpx sensor. Merged image is 3939 x 2627 px. in size. Extended DOF procedure was as follows: Â

I'm using RS2013. My stacked walls are not displaying in preview when editing them. Why would this happen? Even the out of the box walls are not showing. The wall shows fine in the model. This is the first time I have has this happen. I tried scrolling and panning the preview to look but to no avail.
