View 3 RepliesIf there is a way to create a horizontal guide line that will stop at the next vertical guide line instead of going all the way across your template? If not, how would I submit that as something new to add to the next program coming out....it would be great to have that as an option when setting up your guide lines.

I just made my diagonal guides with a top layer and drawing with a small white brush... but it would still be nice to know if diagonal guides can be created.
I must have dreamed this but I thought I saw that LR 5 had the ability to create a cropping overlay from an image. My goal is to create a quicker way to place a date on 5x7 and wallets so that it works for both prints. I want WHCC's wallet guide as an overlay.

I want to know if it is possible to get more than 2 decimal places in the Print Scale Percentage option box (as shown below)?
It seems to round to 2 and I would like to get at least 3 for better accuracy.
I would like to lock the size of an object regardless of the zoom percentage. When I am zooming in on a vector map (main layer) the objects (on different layers) becomes very big. So I should be able to zoom in/out on the vector map, but the objects shall keep the same size. How can I do this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo how do you get the little green guide text bigger in illustrator? You know.. that little green "center" that appears when you mouse over the middle of the art board? If there isn't a way, I think I know why. It would have to be a conspiracy by Adobe to make everyone lose their eyesight so nobody can see well enough to design anymore, rendering the world without illustration. As a computer science major at a large university, I find it hard to believe that nobody can change the code to make this a user defined function in a menu. I miss my old desktop resolution.
View 2 Replies View Related1. Is there an easy/precise way to place a guide in the exact center of an artboard?
2. I want to use the guide to create a balanced design for a poster by making sure that I place my focal image on the center of guide to ensure that half of it displays on either side of the guide. How important is it to strive for complete balance? Sometimes I see ads that seem to have balance while other times there might be tons of white space an some graphic element on one side or the other of the layout.
I cant seem to snap to guide intersections when a linked jpeg file is visible. It works fine when I turn off the visibility of the layer the file is on but I am trying to "trace" over the image with line segments. I know that I have been able to do this in the past but for some reason it is not working now. Im sure that I have accidentally changed something but don't know what.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI must have hit some type of command on my keyboard but now my anchor points and intersect guides have disappeared that would normally appear when I roll my mouse over the anchor point or the intersecting paths. I have hit Ctrl + H as well as went to the menu manually and my edges are showing. How do I turn back on this ability to see my anchor points and intersecting lines guide in Illustrator?
I run on Adobe Illustrator CS5
Seems like both should still work when snap to pixels is on... but they don't. Any reason for this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedIn AI, smart guides indicated "intersection" when I am drawing a path or moving an object to align to the intersection of two guides, when I release the mouse, the object I am moving/drawings jumps slightly off the intended alignment intersection. If I continue to try to move it to align, it jumps to the other side or back to where it was but will mot match the intersection.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was creating a gun on 3DS and everything was fine, I started with an horizontal Cylinder but since I wasn't happy with the final result I wanted to restart.
Now when I create that Cylinder again it's created vertically, not horizontally, probably I pressed something that I didn't want to, I want every object to be created in an horizontally way, how can I do that?
PS: I don't want to use any modifiers and/or mirrors, I just want every object to be created horizontally!
I am trying to remove a circular shape from a rectangle in illustrator, the retangles width is 10px and the diameter of the circle is 13px, I centre the circle ontop of the rectangle ( or I appear to) but when I use the Shape mode tool minus front, the circle is no longer centred ( see images).
I have tried switching off smart guides and snap to grid and am still having the same problem.
In the above image you can see once I have divided the 13px circle from the rectangle it has moved off to one side.
Also when I am trying to manually place the circle ( rather than using the centre guides ) I can only move it by a large degree it alway moves further than I move the mouse, could this be because of a pixel grid? I do not think I am using this. ( can see in the above image where I am trying to place the circle and when I let go of the mouse, the grey circle is where it lands.
From the 2 images below you can see that there is a 1px difference on either side of the extracted circle I was trying to get centered.
I should mention that the 'Align to pixel grid' in the transform menu is inactive when I am trying to do this, as I initially thought that this may be the cause of my problems, but it made no difference.

This is with Civil 3D 2013. I am able to create a pline by offsetting an alignment using any drawing on any other workstation in our office, but on my machine I get an error: "1 object(s) were filtered out." when I try to select the alignment.
This leads me to searching for some system variable or something that is different on my machine.

I have a line graph created in Illustrator with years on the horizontal axis (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, etc.). There is data for each year that will be plotted on the line, however I would only like to display every other year (1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, etc.). Is there a way to show every other year on the horizontal axis.

Just wondering if this is a bug or there is some way to avoid this. I am also using Adobe CS2.

I'm getting a mysterious problem when trying to work with Illustrator files that, I think, were exported from arcGIS. The problem is that when I open the exported file in Illustrator, I get "horizontal transparent bars" that don't let me edit the layers. Perhaps the file is being exported from arcGIS as RGB?
