View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a square filled with a pattern tile. How can I see what the scaled percentage of the pattern is inside that object? I have multiple layouts with different scale values I need to get to the same percentage. I don't see anything within the info dialog box, or transform or appearance attributes? Is this something that's viewable?

I want to know if it is possible to get more than 2 decimal places in the Print Scale Percentage option box (as shown below)?
It seems to round to 2 and I would like to get at least 3 for better accuracy.
Why is the linked image scale percentage being rounded off in Illustrator CC?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have multiple icons placed in a document, from several different sources (all are vector objects) -- see the included image. They vary in size and what I would like to do is find a less onerous method of resizing all the heights to a specific size, while scaling the width proportionately. I have found several scripts that come close to a solution (see links below), but none that allow me to input a height (or width) in inches and have all the objects resize to that height proportionately.
Change Width to the Width of the narrowest object --> Script01
Change Height to the Height of the shortest object --> Script02
Change Multiple Attributes (JohnWundes) --> Script03

I'm looking for a script/program that if you run it, all the .eps files in a folder will batch convert to a png-24 with 250% scale.
View 20 Replies View RelatedLino's CrTronic used to have a command to set horizontal scaling to 100% for these 3 characters, and leave the rest alone.

Because those 3 characters are circles we often want them proportional even if the rest of the copy is horizontally scaled.
I am batch scanning 35mm slides 15 at a time using an Epson 1680. I have been playing with the various dpi's and scale to find the best settings so I can cut the slides and paste them into Powerpoint for a lecture. What I have been finding is that when I cut the slide from the scanned image (of 15 in the holder) and place it in my powerpoint slide and then enlarge it, it is too blurry.
I have tried enlarging the dpi to 2400 but the computer won't scan it. I seem to get OK images in powerpoint at 90dpi and 800% scale but I really want them sharper.
How can I do this? Is it best to scan the slides individually and not use the holder?
More importantly, although the slides look OK on my laptop how will they look when they are projected onto the big screen. I do't want them to be too blurry.
The printout of my AI CS6 file on my Canon Pro 100 is pixelated. Is there a solution to retain the sharp edges?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Adobe Illustrator CS3. When I print to my new LaserJet, documents that are not a full page in size are having the items shifted on the hard copy print out. Specifically, while the font and graphics are not changing in size, all items are shifting to the top of the sheet of paper during printout (i.e. the hard copy does not match what is shown on my screen.)
No Microsoft files are printing improperly, only Acrobat and Illustrator are displaying this issue.
I have imported some auto cad files from a software named arcgis 10. The files are opening perfectly. But when I 'am importing the boundary on those files , the scale/size of the boundary is too large. Is there any option in autocad by which we can reduce the scale as per rest of the layers.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to lock the size of an object regardless of the zoom percentage. When I am zooming in on a vector map (main layer) the objects (on different layers) becomes very big. So I should be able to zoom in/out on the vector map, but the objects shall keep the same size. How can I do this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm try to automate the importing of the Varaible and datasets into my graphs via Scripting, but the ImportVaraibles() function doesn't seem to work. Here is my Script, mostly copied from the example script provided with Illustrator (CS5). And, this works manually, using the file names in the script, via Load Variable Library
Set appRef = CreateObject(strIllistratorVersion)
'Open the file and import the datasets
Set docRef = appRef.Open(strTemplate & "200-500.ai")
'docRef.Datasets.RemoveAll
docRef.Variables("Yearbook").Delete
Here is the problem, after I delete the previous library, then this next line, right from the example, does nothing
The script then exits with 'No Datasets in this document'
docRef.ImportVariables (strXMLFolder & "Lumber_200-500.xml")
'appRef.DoJavaScript "alert('Template:" & strTemplate & strRange & ".ai | XML file:" & strXMLFolder & "" & objFile.Name & "^')"
If (appRef.Documents.Count > 0) Then
Set docRef = appRef.Documents(1)
[Code]....
If I remove that delete line, the script runs, but just uses whatever Variables I had last loaded, not the XML file.
It's simply not loading. What do I need to do to get it to load?
Can you access graph data through the scripting DOM?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ai file. It is exported from PRo-E, so there are lot of nodes in that ai file which makes the file size larger. Is there any way to simplify the ai file without disturbing the profile of the entities in ai file. I tried Simplify options. It worked a little bit. But i want any other option to simplify the ai file in order to reduce the file size in a larger extent.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to upload a .svg file to a t shirt printing site. The image is to be printed on a sleeve therefore the dimentions need to be small (5 inch x 5 inch when uploaded). Every time I upload the file, it is returning information that the file is too big : 1261 px x 1323 px, 10.5 inch x 11.0 inch.
When I try to reduce the image size in Illustrator, the dimensions are still the same when I upload it?!?!? It is quite a complex design.
Using Illustrator CS3
Many of our AI-files have a tendency to 'bloat' to sizes above 60 or 100 MB, even though they relatively simple, all things considered.
The obvious answer would be to save with PDF-compability, but since we need to link the AI-files in InDesign-documents, that's not an option. We have cleaned the brushes, the symbols etc. and all pictures are linked, not embedded.
Are there any other ways to reduce the file-size?
I normally use InDesign. This is in Illustrator and the art work doesn't have a handle on the corners to pull in or out to size. Shift / Command doesn't work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a fairly novice user of Illustrator. I have my company logo in an .AI and .PNG format. I need to "shrink" the image while perserving the image quality. I am trying to design an ad for my business and the file is too big for the dimensions of the ad in photoshop. When i attempt to reduce the file size (Edit--> Free Transform) I am able to "shrink" the logo down to fit (about 70% reduction), but it turns out very blurry and not sharp. The sharpen filter does not seem to work.
I have been told I need to take the .AI file, and shink the logo there, then converting to a PNG to be placed into the ad. I **think** I did this, but the image still turns out blurry.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a simple drawing (very suitable since I am very much a newbie) with the object drawn on Layer 0 and the dimensions on another layer named (by way of novelty) Dimensions. When I sent this drawing to print I only get Layer 0 - no dimensions.
In photoshop-type applications the process is called flattening, whereby all the layers are compressed into the base layer.
Is there a similar process in AutoCAD?Do I have to use it to get all layers in the one print-out?How should I go about getting both object and dimensions to print?
I'm trying to use adobe illustrator to color the background of a photograph green while keeping the person in the picture the same color.
I used live trace to get a vector image and then attemped to use live pain to finish the job, but I end up with thousands of blue lines and gaps that are too small to color in. Is there anyway i can reduce the number of gaps so that i can actually paint the background?
I've already tried the gap options and adjusting the settings to small medium or large did nothing. If this isn't possible, is there any other feature in adobe illustrator that would allow me to achieve my goal?
I have a photograph with a person in the middle; i want the person to remain the same and the background to be changed to green.
I have a illustration in .iso(isodraw) format. I'm exporting it to ai and opening in adobe illustrator for removing unwanted lines(becasuse the .iso is exported from Pro-E). Then Im reopening it in Isodraw to apply some line thickness. Because i want the file to be completed in isodrwa and export it to .cgm.
My target is to reduce the file size to very minimal. The entities in the drawing has lot of nodes. Im using simplify option in AI to reduce the nodes in turn the file size reduces.
What are all the other ways to reduce the file size without distrubing the profile of the illustration. Otherwise redrawing of the entire illustration will reduce the file size??
In a nutshell Input is .iso.......Output is .cgm. By using isodraw and adobe illustrator software which will be the best possible way to reduce the file size.
