Illustrator :: Cupcakes - Get Thinner Endings Of Lines That Become Thicker As Line Extends

Jul 6, 2012

I am trying to redesign these cupcakes. I am wondering how do I get the thinner endings of the lines that eventually become thicker as the line extends? You can see it on the frosting lines and smiles. I am using Illustator 10.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Pipe Line With Thicker Appearance Than Typical Line Of Width 0

Mar 26, 2009

I am looking to draw my pipe with a thicker appearance than the typical line of width "0". Our storm pipes are usually drawn with this so as to stand out from other utilities. If the pipe is represented by a polyline, I have usually adjusted the "Width" or "Global Width" value to my liking. With pipe objects, it seems more complicated. I have searched the settings, and the closest thing that I could find was the Lineweight property, but that appears to have no effect on the line thickness in the CAD drawing.

Do I need to tweak a plot setting? Make a new linetype altogether?

I have hand written initials. It looks to be something that was signed on copy paper and then the background was removed to get an alpha channel. These initials are a bit too thin to make an impact within the logo i am designing.

How do i thicken the lines without a stroke which would hurt the detail.?

Illustrator :: Quickly Straighten Lines Or Remove Multiple Points Of A Line?

Jul 22, 2012

I am studying for an MSc in Geology and am doing seismic mapping. To tidy up my maps I exported them to ArcGIS so I could join various ones together and also contour the maps. Then I exported the GIS maps into illustrator so I could attempt to smooth some of the contours as they are extremely jaggedy due to the nature of the data.Is there a way to quickly smooth lines or mass delete points that make up the lines?I am asking because I have 30+ maps and each map has maybe 50lines with each line being made up of currently about 1000 points each...

If I can't find a solution I will probably end up drawing over the contours with the pen tool and just smoothing it that way, as it should be a lot faster then deleting so many points.

I am currently using Illustrator CS5 and have access to CS4.

Illustrator :: Front Shape Appears Thinner After Subtracting From Back Shape

Jan 13, 2014

I'm using CS3 on a Mac.

I outlined my text and subtracted it (and the tree image) from the black background. When I did this both appear thinner - particularly the tree.

If I then take the original version and the new subtracted version, and view them both overlayed one on top of the other in wire frame (outline) mode, there is no difference in the actual lines.

It seems to be a problem with the way illustrator previews the images. This wouldn't concern me, but when I export the file as a jpeg, the lines also appear thinner in the export.

I can create a manual solution by offsetting the path before subtracting, but this isn't ideal.

Photoshop :: Clone Stamp Selected Area Extends Out To Edges Of Grey Outline?

Aug 30, 2013

MAC OS / Photoshop CS5 As you can see in the attached image, my clone stamp selection doesn't extend out to the edges of the outline, which makes using it very clumsy to use. My PS installation at home and all the installations at this business don't do this. I've tried messing with all the clone stamp settings, resetting the clone stamp presets, and resetting the general Photoshop preferences at startup. However, nothing I've tried has had any affect. So how can I get this adjusted so that the clone stamp selected area extends out to the edges of the grey outline?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: How To Get Thinner Brushstrokes

When using artistic media brushstrokes, the thinnest I seem to be able to apply is supposedly .03", which is too thick for a lot of what I'm trying to do.To illustrate, in the attached image: The apple on the left is what I get if I apply artistic media strokes to the lines at the lowest possible thickness, which is still too thick. The apple on the right has the lines at the thickness that I wanted, but I was only able to get them that way by using a tedious workaround.

GIMP :: Make Object Thinner Without Scaling It?

Feb 24, 2012

I am designing a logo, and have used a gimp script to create (a) the text that I need, and (b) a ring to enclose it. The ring is in a separate layer with a transparent background (I set the entire background to Alpha), and it surrounds the text. I created the ring using a script to transform a letter 'O' into a 'glassy' style object, which I then resized into an oval of the correct size and shape using the 'scale layer' tool.

The logo looks OK, but would be much improved if I could make the surrounding ring thinner. The ring has a 'glassy' effect which is just what I want, but it is a little on the chunky side. It would look much better if I could transform it to be about half the thickness that it currently is, to match the slimmer text inside the ring. I would like to do this without losing the 'glassy' effect of the ring.

I have already tried creating the ring with the thinnest font I could find that gave me the right shape, but this doesn't go quite far enough. Is there any way that I can thin the ring so that it keeps it's size, position and 'glassy' effect, but ends up with a thickness of about 50% of it's current width? Effectively, I just want to transform a fat ring into a skinny ring!

I have a layer is a PSD which someone else has created, unfortunately said person has not come back with a how to on this, where there are a few 'white' objects which fade from solid white in the centre to transparent at the edge. Also if the object has thin lines these also fade.

AutoCad :: Lineweight Appear Less Thicker After Copy

Oct 31, 2011

When I copy objects from a drawing to another drawing in .DWG, it appears that the lineweights becomes different between the two drawings.

For example, let's say there is a layer whose Lineweight is 0.3mm, Color is green and Linetype is continuous on the source drawing file. You notice the objects under that layer should be thicker. After copying to another drawing or destination drawing file, I noticed the layer got transferred across which is good and everything else associated with that layer. But then, I noticed on the other drawing, the objects on that layer are not as thick as that of the source drawing file. When i checked the layer on the layer properties manager, it shows the lineweight is 0.3mm. I wonder why the lineweight of the objects are different as if they are 0.00mm and what should I do to keep it consistent on the other drawing after the copy.
