I've just started to learn Photoshop, but I got this one little problem. May sound n00by, but I can't find the way to change thickness of the Pen Tool
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have some picture look like a line of graph, but it has only one-pixel line width (for an example in attach file) and it can't be seen when I put it in presentation slide. So I want to make line thicker, like 3-5 pixel width. How can I do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I am creating this website, and my customer wants a header banner similar to this:
(I don't know if it's clear enough, but there are multiple lines going through the image, with different gradient colors and so on)
Now I can't use this image, since it belongs to another website, but I want to make my own. So, I have no clue about how to make these lines in GIMP. I know GIMP's interface very well (been cropping, coloring for years), but not advanced features like this.
And it's not only the lines, but also the shadowing/coloring in between the lines that I seriously have no clue about how to make.
What is the tool called used for making this? Is there a video tutorial on how to make something similar?
I have hand written initials. It looks to be something that was signed on copy paper and then the background was removed to get an alpha channel. These initials are a bit too thin to make an impact within the logo i am designing.
How do i thicken the lines without a stroke which would hurt the detail.?
What happened to the Thicker Lines feature in the view port Shading menu? This is an absolutely essential feature! Is it part of the removed features in Maya 2014?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI notice that in every magazine each line of an article has exactly the same length as the the others despite the fact that there is a different number of words in each line. Moreover, spaces between words change from line to line, according to the amount of words in each one, and as a result every single line has the same length as the ones above and beneath it.In GIMP, when you use textedit (ie this ) you cant do what i mentioned above. Every line ends up in different lenght as each word that does not "fit in the box" goes to the line beneath it thus making a text look kinda ugly.
My question is, is there a way to align all the lines in order to make them have the same length? (just like a magazine would look)
I have been a Photoshop hobbyist. Now I own a printing business. This has forced me into the world of Illustrator for our printing and cutting machines. Although I am very comfortable with PS, Illustrator. One of the key things is making "Cut lines" in Illustrator to send to the cutting program. Now here is my dillema, all of my images I have made are in Photoshop. To make these cut lines I have to stroke the image. When I bring a picture into Illustrator I can not get it to stroke that picture. It just strokes the box around it, or unless I draw a circle or shape around it and stroke that shape. Please refer to the picture I have attached. The first one is a decal that we initially made. The second is the image that I want to stroke for cut lines do I can just have that as a decal without the white circle.

The only problem I'm still encountering is that the lines are not even. It was traced in sharpie before I scanned it so the lines are crisp and smooth, but not even.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been working on this for hours and have watched a ton of tutorials but I'm still not getting the effect I want with my image.
Is it possible to clean up all "sketch" lines in this image, leave just the skull (with teeth) with smooth and dark lines. I want to turn this into a logo.
I can make this image black and white then quickly get rid of the red. I'm just looking to get rid of the gray sketch marks and make it all one solid black outline while keeping the lines the thickness they should be as to not alter the picture.
I use it to measure angles of micrographs (images taken with a microscope) --- the angle measure tool is great, and easy to use! I would like to be able to save the angle measure "rulers" into the image, for documentation purposes. Is there a way to incorporate the angle "ruler" in a layer or overlay in the image so that I can save a new file with the ruler "burned in" (for lack of a better term).
I will also be adding the text of the resulting angle measurement --- it would be cool if the result of the angle measure could be automatically added as text to the image (preferably in a different layer than the original image). I can type it the result with the text tool.
Basically, I am trying to process a simple drawn map that was scanned and saved as a PDF. The scanned image is old so the paper is yellowed and they scanned it in high res color even though the image is black and white (well, blue ink actually). I just want to make the background white and change the blue/black lines to solid black lines that retain their clarity.
Here is a portion of the image:
The left is the original and the right is what I WANT, but cannot, achieve.
My biggest issue has been pixelation of the lines. I just can't get it smooth like in the right image. I've tried all sorts of filters - blurs, smooths, sharpens etc.. Part of the problem is also the degradation of the image after I extract it from the PDF.
What should I do to “Layer 1” (the single image) to get-rid of those Horizontal and Vertical lines from pattern? While repeating as the Background Image into the HTML page, those Horizontal and Vertical lines does not look nice.

I have made- 1 image with a black line on white background saved as xcf- 1 image with a black letter "A" on white background saved as xcfBoth images are rectangulars. I scaled the height of both images to the same value.
Output should be 1 image - with white background:
- one rectangular consisting of the old 2 rectangulars- area is the sum of the area of the 2 old rectangulars- on left side the "line" image
- on right side the "A" image
- new image can be saved as xcf
Looking for answer in simply consecutive row of commands like:
GIMP > file > open file: image with line > right click on image > image > scale image > ...GIMP > file > open file: image with letter > ...
In gimp I have imported an image. I then duplicate the image four times (I am trying to make four different crops of the same image). But every time I crop one corner of the image, it automatically crops ALL OF THE OTHER DUPLICATES TOO!!!! I have tried just importing the same image four times as individual layers, but that doesn't work either! Why does one layer affect all of them?!

I have gimp 2.8 and am taking a class on gimp. I need to use an image to make text and it doesn't work.
I have followed steps from Google searched tutorials and I can do all the steps but the end result is I still paste a black font. (I tried opening gimp tutorials and it took me to a page to link to the tuts but wouldn't open? So i went to Google.
I have followed a variety of step lessons - some that are easy and some that go on forever. None work. The easiest steps were .. open an image / select tool font / click on image / type text / resize to how I want it to look / move it to where i want text to be over image / click on text layer / right click / drop menu choose "alpha to selection" = text letters become selected (at this stage I can fill with a pattern etc and that works so I know I have a selection) Edit/ copy / open new file / edit / paste / and the text should be written with the image as the letters BUT I just get the text in black.
What am i doing wrong or does this feature not work in 2.8.
I was trying to make a .gif image out of a 4 second video. i though i was able to do this with 2.6 but i really don't recall.
