View 3 Replies View RelatedI have several hundred TIF images at 1200 dpi+ which represent scans of hand drawings on parchment paper using pencil or ink-pen (.2mm or thereabouts) of 4000 year old cuneiform documents. The drawings were made over an extended period of time, the paper varied, and ultimately, the scans reflect this in that some lines are darker than others and there are occasional 'smudgy' areas etc.
Â
What I would like to do prior to publication is to sharpen the images and make them consistent across the repertoire as black on white background.
Â
how various Photoshop (CS5, Mac) commands do what they do, but I've found several that seem like they might get me where I want to go: Levels (Auto?), Threshold, Shadows/Highlights. I'd like to automate to run over a directory of images if possible. At the same time, I might have to change the dpi and output format of the new images.
Â
In this case, the drawing is fairly clear (not much 'grey' background) but the lines are not as black and sharp as they could be.
I've just started to learn Photoshop, but I got this one little problem. May sound n00by, but I can't find the way to change thickness of the Pen Tool
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get the hand to write with a pencil. I pose the hand and fingers holding the pencil and constrain (parent constraint with offset) the pencil to the hand's wrist controller and freeze the pencil's translation attributes. When moving the wrist controller creating key frames or translating in the UI, the pencil does not follow the hand/fingers. There seems to be an offset with the pencil that get worse the farther I translate or rotate the wrist controller. I tried doing the same with just the fingers and getting the same result.

Don't say I have to sync it manually! it's a close up shot and motion captured movement. Indeed it's really complex movement! Imagine you are painting on a sphere with Maya's texture paint tool.

I'd like to make the attached line about twice as thick. I have searched for hours how to accomplish this to no avail.
Want to ask how can i make that yellow line become thicker ?! I already made the lineweight to 2.11mm but it still can't change to thicker .

View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like to take a basic sketch drawing and use it for a tshirt design. I've scanned the image and cleaned up all the speckles and dust. The only problem I'm still encountering is that the lines are not even. It was traced in sharpie before I scanned it so the lines are crisp and smooth, but not even.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there's any easy way to make lines to appear less precise as if they were hand drawn with a pencil?
eg.
I have seen brush strokes, but they only really provide a texture rather than a variation in the line as far as I have seen.
Below is a logo that I scanned form a logo designs book. The grey area needs to be solid black.
I can use the trace feature on CorelDraw. However, the trace feature does not outline the artwork very well.
Is there some way I can make the logo below solid black and solid white without having to sketch the whole thing using features like trim and nodes?
It may be that the trim feature and the nodes feature is about the only way to make the artwork really good and sharp.
I made a drawing by hand, now I want to use it in a laser machine... I need hairlines (in dutch haarlijnen) 0,5 thick and sharp? How do i transform this picture into a sharp document?

I have a layer is a PSD which someone else has created, unfortunately said person has not come back with a how to on this, where there are a few 'white' objects which fade from solid white in the centre to transparent at the edge. Also if the object has thin lines these also fade.
I have hand written initials. It looks to be something that was signed on copy paper and then the background was removed to get an alpha channel. These initials are a bit too thin to make an impact within the logo i am designing.

How do i thicken the lines without a stroke which would hurt the detail.?
When I copy objects from a drawing to another drawing in .DWG, it appears that the lineweights becomes different between the two drawings.
For example, let's say there is a layer whose Lineweight is 0.3mm, Color is green and Linetype is continuous on the source drawing file. You notice the objects under that layer should be thicker. After copying to another drawing or destination drawing file, I noticed the layer got transferred across which is good and everything else associated with that layer. But then, I noticed on the other drawing, the objects on that layer are not as thick as that of the source drawing file. When i checked the layer on the layer properties manager, it shows the lineweight is 0.3mm. I wonder why the lineweight of the objects are different as if they are 0.00mm and what should I do to keep it consistent on the other drawing after the copy.
The problem is that when I choose or designate an outline thickness, the horizontal is much thicker than the vertical. I need consistency. Especially noticeable if I modify a font, enlarge it, stretch or skew. I do set the outline to scale with image and also don't outline until I am finished with the modifications.Â

I am looking to draw my pipe with a thicker appearance than the typical line of width "0". Our storm pipes are usually drawn with this so as to stand out from other utilities. If the pipe is represented by a polyline, I have usually adjusted the "Width" or "Global Width" value to my liking. With pipe objects, it seems more complicated. I have searched the settings, and the closest thing that I could find was the Lineweight property, but that appears to have no effect on the line thickness in the CAD drawing.
Do I need to tweak a plot setting? Make a new linetype altogether?
