I want to take this photo of my son and create writing in the sand making it look realistic. The results I have with simple embossing doenst have the real feel.
how to make text look like it was written in the sand of a specific image however I am struggling.I've spent hours searching on Google and going through tutorials but none of em work well. The biggest issue seems to be around the build up of the sand outside the letters, I don't care if my image has this or if it doesn't.

Trying to get the words Ocean City in 2 lines and have it look as close as possible to look like it was written in the sand (without me having to drive an hour to the beach and make one myself and photograph it) although it is tempting to do!
I have just purchased this upgrade software having used XARA Xtreme4.0 for many years. How can I change the black background screen with white writing to grey with black writing?
I'm in a serious spot of bother, I'm trying to create a new background and i want to create a backdrop for the main image, the backdrop has a sand based theme, ok Im waffling.
I googled the internetz and came across this image, which is pretty much spot on for what I'm trying to create:
How to either create this from scratch, or know a texture similiar to it? I've searched but all i find is grunge textures, this has a bit more elegance in my opinion.
I'm not looking for a detailed tutorial or anything, just need pointing in the right direction, I havent really created it myself if I have used a tutorial right?. Did I mention there were cookies?
I was watching a buddy of mine clean things in his yard with one of those jet water sand blaster things. when he stands and shoots it from the hip, the jet of water almost looks like the jet of flame form a flame thrower like you see in the movies and it got me thinking, maybe I can edit a picture of this in photoshop and turn the water into flame?
I think I have some clue on how to go about doing this, but it probably won't look good, since I don't know how you could just select the water from the picture and edit it,

Is it possible to fill a shell with sand? The end use of my design will have sand - like in a childs plasitc basketball hoop/stand assembly and I would like to try to approximate the center of gravity and other useful info.
I am a student using Inventor 2013 Professional. I'm working on a project for school comparing levees made of different materials. I've created multiple levees from different materials. I can perform stress analysis on some of the levees, but when I try to do the simulation on levees made with dirt or sand, I get an error stating "Some materials are not defined correctly. Please assign a valid override material in the Assign Materials dialog." how I can create levees with these materials and perform the stress analysis on them like I can with metal and concrete levees?
I am making a hopper to dispense sand, but I can't figure out the process to make the shape I want. I thought it would be easy! This is pretty much the first sheet metal part I've tried to make apart from easy tutorial things. I'm OK at normal parts.
I've mocked up the rough shape I want from a normal extruded part (attached). I've also attached the start of a folded version. I've had lots of attempts and none of them have really got anywhere.
I am designing a tattoo for my friend using photoshop. She wants a star with writing but the original I did is too big. So i thought about doing just the writing in a star shape. I am wondering is it possible, like with the warp font tool, to make text follow a shape? I know I can do this by cutting and pasting and free transforming bits of text, but it is going to be a lengthy process to get it to fit.
basically designing a CD on photoshop and want to have writing around the edges of the CD...how would I do this? can't seem warp it into a perfect circle...
I have been writing a description for a set of logos down the left side of a page, in a column. However I want to write the text at 45 degrees within the column. I have fiddled with the pen tool and text direction settings, but to no avail.
I would like writing on the photo on the mirror, to look like it was written in lipstick or something of the sort. The words I'm yours or I am yours or something like that..
I am writing an action and I want to select the next layer (up or down) for processing. Much like Layer>Arrange does except it relocates the layer up or down, I want to highlight a layer (up or down) for processing. If I click on the layer to select it in the action, then when I run the action on another photo, the action say it cant find the layer name (from the photo I used to build the action). Is there a key combination to do this ? Like 'CMD [' and 'CMD ]' does for Layer> Arrange.
Waiting for Windows 8, I recently bought a new HP Touch smart 520PC. While touch screen works perfectly with Windows 7, and the pen correctly writes on the screen in simple programs like Paint, when I try to draw with the brush (or with any other tool) instead of the brush it appears the small hand usually used to move the screen.
There is any setup I must apply to solve this problem, or actually Photoshop CS6 doesn't plan to support the direct drawing on the screen? In this case I wonder, because I suppose that - when touch capabilities of Windows 8 will be available - many PC and notebooks will use the touch screen technology.
Buying the HP Touch smart I would expect to use Photoshop as on a giant I pad, but for the moment I'm still obliged to use a Wacom tablet!
Although i bought CS^ Middle East Edition it doesnt write arabic correctly letters are not connected, even if i change fonts i had a friend sent me an arabic words and when i opened his file it open correctly in my photoshop and i can edit it, also when i copy his text on my file its correct while mine at same file doesnt show correctly where letters are separated how can i correct this ?
Due to space problems I just moved all my photographs to a 3TB external disk. Now when I try to write metadata to a photograph in Bridge CS6 all I get is error messages and nothing gets written. If I move the photographs back to the PC everything works okay.
I have a scanned image of an old letter. I want to know if I can lift, seperate, the writing layer from the background? If so, how would I go about doing this.
