View 2 Replies View RelatedProcess of tagging my many thousands of family photographs within PSE5, I am dismayed to find that having taken the manual step of writing the tags to the files, that only some of them have indeed done so. Quite a few of my photo files are showing up in Windows Explorer with the tags I have given them safely in place - great. However, twice as many appear to not be tagged at all. What has happened and how I can rectify it? The prospect of having to tag them all again leaves me wanting to go and stick my head in a blender.
A second problem is that, inexplicably, PSE5 recently started creating duplicate photo files with a "edTMP" suffix - they recreate the exact same file with the exact same file size. The only difference is that, where tags have been saved to a photo, the "edTMP" version does not include the tags. So, I just delete these files, but with the number that PSE is creating, it is a very time consuming job.
I have a client that wants to add "save the date" to their engagement photo that was taken in the snow. We can't use a board or our feet to "write" in the snow as it is hard to see. I figured I could photoshop it in there to make it look "engraved" in the snow. I've inserted a sample image of what I'm looking for of a similar picture I found online.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a vacation picture that is on a beach. I want to make it look like there are some words or designs drawn into the beach.
How can I do that? I don't work in Photo Paint to much. I do most of my work in Draw since I deal with vector images 90% of the time.
How do I change the color of the text when I want to write on a photo?

I sadly do not have Photoshop C5 so can not easily remove someone from photos. I tried the cloning tool to just place the background over the person to be removed but it doesn't look very nice. (I'm just starting to use Photoshop).
It is a lake scene and the person to be removed is on the far right, not in the middle of a group or anything.
How do I remove the background of a photo and "save" the remaining subject(person) using Windows?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I have this photo. I see that yes I had to snap the picture before the fawns bounded off so there is a branch there. Would it be too difficult then to remove the branch?
What tools might be used to do such a job? Also I am hearing that perhaps the discoloration is a smudge on the lens. Does that seem correct?
I'm trying to remove all the added text (dates, Lakers logo in the top left corner) from this picture so it's just Kobe doing the layup as a photo. Is it possible to do this and keep it the same size (photo is larger, just click on it)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a template to create multi photo collage in Photoshop, I can't make the numbers go away. Did it once and saved the file wrong, am now having a print made with numbers on every photo. Very frustrated new user. So far, do not like working with this software. Takes entirely too much time to figure out how to use all the functionality.

I am currently using a combination of cloning, stamping, copying objects, and playing with brightness and contrast. But it is VERY time consuming. I edit photos of swimming pools quite regularly, and water on decks can be quite a problem, so I need a faster method, if anyone knows of one?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a portait where I want to give it a more shallow DOF (depth of field) than originally shot. In other words: I want to turn the background blurry while the foreground and subject should be sharp. I decided to use the Lens blur filter (Filter-Blur-Lens blur) for this.
Basically I just duplicated the image to a new layer, turned that layer into a smart object, added lens blur to it, then used a gradient filter on the mask in order to make the blur fade away in the front (just like a camera lens wide open would). Finally I used a brush to carefully remove (mask) the blur from the subject, revealing the (unblurred original image) bottom layer.
The problem is that the blurred layer also introduces a "halo" around things which isn't very attractive (see screenshots below). Is there a way to make the background blurry without adding halos? I've tried Gaussian blur as well but the same problem was there. I'm using Photoshop CS4 on a Mac.
Original image
Duplicated layer blurred (lens blur) -notice dark "halo" above hair
Masked to reveal sharp (original) layer for subject. The halo is of course still there. Not very flattering
I'm working with the attached photo. As you can see (or rather, can't see) Jeanine's eyes are obscured by the glare on her glasses. I'm sadly finding little blips and blurbs such as this on all the outside shots because this event took place on an absolutely spectacular day (not that I'm complaining given the bizarre weather we've been having). It's just I could not see in the camera's display some of the problems. I even had a couple that are completely blurry though they looked fine on the display at the time.
What is the simplest way to quickly correct this? I have several similar shots of her but the glare is present in all of them. It's actually worse in a couple of them.
Is there a tutorial for cutting out part of a photo and using it in another photo. I have seen one on youtube but it is not detailed enough. It dosen't fully explain how to add your cut out part of a photo to a new photo. That is, how do i put the cut out part of a photo on top of a new background?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a photo that includes the date the picture was taken on the front of it. The text is in yellow and part of the date covers my suited arm. My question is how can I remove the date, and have the area where the date was reflective of the colors that are in the background (i.e., my suit is gray, so I want the area that the yellow date originally covered, now to appear the same color as my suit.
I am using GIMPshop 2.8.8(?)
What would be the easiest way to remove the background from this photo?
