Photoshop :: How To Turn Sand Blaster Into Flame Thrower...
Feb 17, 2007
I was watching a buddy of mine clean things in his yard with one of those jet water sand blaster things. when he stands and shoots it from the hip, the jet of water almost looks like the jet of flame form a flame thrower like you see in the movies and it got me thinking, maybe I can edit a picture of this in photoshop and turn the water into flame?
I think I have some clue on how to go about doing this, but it probably won't look good, since I don't know how you could just select the water from the picture and edit it,
how to write a message in the sand. I found something on line with photoshop buddy but when I try to copy the text to a new layer the text disappears which is the second step out of 10 or so..
I want to take this photo of my son and create writing in the sand making it look realistic. The results I have with simple embossing doenst have the real feel.
When I say complicated I mean absurdedly so, enough to make some lose hair.
Just look at the background, I dont want to make a seperate JPG minus login input, so that will do for now.
Anyways, I've been wanting to convert it to a more firey look, and this is what I've got for the internals.
(Shrunken to 25% WxH)
heres the problem I think you have noticed...
How to make a flame effect on the same scale as the lightning, without deteriorating from the rest of the image. I've tried very hard and very soft liquifies, I've tried wind effects to no avail, I've turned the orb from rectangular to polar and back again more times than I choose to count. But the end result is that the flames just dont look real or cool at all.
how I can smooth out the flames and make it look better?
I want high density, realistic flames, and I've tried Panopticum Fire and other things... it just never looks right though.
how to make text look like it was written in the sand of a specific image however I am struggling.I've spent hours searching on Google and going through tutorials but none of em work well. The biggest issue seems to be around the build up of the sand outside the letters, I don't care if my image has this or if it doesn't.
I'm in a serious spot of bother, I'm trying to create a new background and i want to create a backdrop for the main image, the backdrop has a sand based theme, ok Im waffling.
I googled the internetz and came across this image, which is pretty much spot on for what I'm trying to create:
How to either create this from scratch, or know a texture similiar to it? I've searched but all i find is grunge textures, this has a bit more elegance in my opinion.
I'm not looking for a detailed tutorial or anything, just need pointing in the right direction, I havent really created it myself if I have used a tutorial right?. Did I mention there were cookies?
ive got paintshop pro x5 ultimate i want to write in flames but need a flame pic tube its not in the verion ive got can you get it from any where else and can i have a link if youve got it
I just found the tool map convert and found out, that it's able to create a cube with different faces. But now I'm wondering, is there a way to combine this somehow with action to create a 3D cube with different clips playing on each face? Also, I don't understand why the faces are not editable in the map convert menu. It only says that face 1 is the bottom and so on.
Best way I can create writing in the center of this heart in the sand?

Trying to get the words Ocean City in 2 lines and have it look as close as possible to look like it was written in the sand (without me having to drive an hour to the beach and make one myself and photograph it) although it is tempting to do!
Is it possible to fill a shell with sand? The end use of my design will have sand - like in a childs plasitc basketball hoop/stand assembly and I would like to try to approximate the center of gravity and other useful info.
We are trying to share files between a Smoke 2013 E1 and a Flame 2013. I can see Flame from Smoke but no the other way around. I can see flame´s projects but cant see any clip. I can see flame´s clips from Safari using Wiretap Central. Are these applications compatible?
Smoke 2013 Ext1 17" Mac Book Pro OS X 10.8.5 16 GB RAM
I know in the smoke 2012 on OS X you were able to set your keys as Flame. Is this possible in Smoke 2013 beta 5 ?
Also, when in connect FX can you make a hotkey for pan and zoom ? Seems silly that you would have to change that manually every time but I am sure it is user error.
It would seem that when I restore an old archive and enter the batch fx that all the media is correct, all tracking etc is correct but the keyer is inaccessible and all keys are defaulted to luminance of the input. I can't enter and edit them at all.
I also tried restoring to a new project which I setup with the legacy option selected. Am I missing something or is this not supported in pr4?

I am a student using Inventor 2013 Professional. I'm working on a project for school comparing levees made of different materials. I've created multiple levees from different materials. I can perform stress analysis on some of the levees, but when I try to do the simulation on levees made with dirt or sand, I get an error stating "Some materials are not defined correctly. Please assign a valid override material in the Assign Materials dialog." how I can create levees with these materials and perform the stress analysis on them like I can with metal and concrete levees?
I am making a hopper to dispense sand, but I can't figure out the process to make the shape I want. I thought it would be easy! This is pretty much the first sheet metal part I've tried to make apart from easy tutorial things. I'm OK at normal parts.
I've mocked up the rough shape I want from a normal extruded part (attached). I've also attached the start of a folded version. I've had lots of attempts and none of them have really got anywhere.
