I just upgraded my iMac to Mavericks, and am now having trouble printing from CS5. The message I get is "Can't print the illustration. The Color Management settings are inconsistent." I hadn't made any color management changes, so I assume this is related to the upgrade. I checked AI, PS, ID, and Acrobat, and all the settings are North American General Purpose 2. I opened Bridge, and it has the same color setting, and says that all CS apps are synchronized using the same color settings.
In the past, I've encountered the transparency issue where I've gotten the "ghosting" or discolored box around images when printing from PDFs created in Illustrator. I've always solved the issue by checking the option "print as image" in Acrobat. I noticed, however, that the colors are much less vibrant and almost "muddy" when this option is checked. Â Is there another/better technique to remove the "ghosting" effect when printing in order to preserve better coloring?
I get "Fatal Error: Unhandled c000000dh Exception at 24079af3h" every time when I print to pdf with Acrobat 9 in AutoCAD 2012. However, the Acrobat converter is working properly in other applications. It only happens in ACad 2012.
How do I fix the issue of the shutting down? I had been printing and then it wouldn't let me. i have updated everything and still won't work. I have windows 7 and lightroom 3.6.
Printing pdf's to an HP Designjet 1055 using the new Acrobat X version. I can't change the page size from 8.5x11and nothing comes out at the 1055. Works fine to our Xerox 6204 printers. Looks like I could be going back to Acrobat 9.4...
I´m having trouble editing images from Acrobat Pro XI in Illustrator CS6. AI is inconsistent in how it saves the new image, sometimes it´s no problem, Acrobat updates the new image and it´s fine. Other times (could be the same image, only seconds later and without changing any settings) it wants me to save the new image on disk...?!
The problem seems to happen ins CS5 and CS6 as well. We have a complex piece of artwork for a foil blister and we use a paragraph of text that has 3 transforms applied to which effectively step and repeat the paragraph of text in a repeat pattern across the artwork. This setup very precisely as it needs to be 100% accurate for print purposes as several units are printed side by side and the repeat runs across the units. Everything is setup correctly in Illustrator and then we re-save as a PDF with 'Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities' on. Â We genearally save as a PDF 1.6 but we have tried all the combinations now. The file still looks perfect in Illustrator but when the PDF is opened in Acrobat (any version) the step and repeat (transform) on the paragraph of text is now no longer in alignment on onside of the artwork but still OK on one side. No matter what we do we can't fix this problem andit's recreatable each time. Also it's not file specific as we can build a new file and it will also exhibit the problem. We're only talking about a tiny jump here - <0.2mm but this means the artwork is out of spec.
Why in the heck do Macs show layers in a PDF that are HIDDEN at the time of saving if "Create Acrobat Layers from Top-Level Layers" is checked is checked -BUT- PC's don't??  I just proofed a business card with my boss accidentily showing him some type on a layer that was hidden. He approved it. Now I have to make a bunch of type set up in very tight margins work in production.
My company is exporting Postcards in Illustrator CS6. What we do is have a large data set imported into the Variables applet and use the Actions applet to record and export action and play it through the whole data set. We later combine the PDF files and print them as a batch. Â My question is: Is there a way to create an action that will automatically print the data set while avoiding the print dialog box? It will make the process simple and move faster. Â Also, what are your was of creating postcards? Catalogs? Â How do people create a catalog with over 60 pages and keep the file size low?
I have a Samsung Laser printer. THe passive USB hub went bad yesterday, and I re-installed teh printer drivers. Everything prints fine from my on-line E-mail, Microsoft Word, etc. However, when I attempt to print from Adobe Illustrator I get a "Print to file" WINDOW that comes up, I never got this before I don't want to print to file (!!!!). I want to print to the printer.
When starting CS2 the programme loads to the end and about three seconds after a message appears.
An error has been detected with a required application.
This does not happen with Image ready. I have installed PS7 and this is not affected.
Searching through various sites I found that CS2 can cause conflicts with Acrobat 8.0.
Error "...Model subsystem..." when you start Help Center from any CS2 application
Issue
When you start the Help Center from an Adobe Creative Suite 2 application (Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive, Photoshop, or Acrobat), you receive one of the following error messages:
-- "Model subsystem error: 1016" -- "Adobe Help Center cannot start. model subsystem returned this error: 1105" -- "Model Subsystem 1146: Adobe Help Cannot Start" -- "Model subsystem error: 1017" -- "Adobe Help cannot start: Model subsystem error returned this error: 1030"
-- "Adobe Help Center cannot start. model subsystem returned this error: 1"
I get the Model subsystem 1146 error.
I've re-set preferences and reinstalled the programme some ten times.
I still can't use Photoshop CS2 I really need Photomerge for my work.
I have saved a psd file as a photoshop pdf and opened with Acrobat Pro. Is it possible to edit the text in Acrobat? I have read online that it should be possible, and when I open the file it shows the fonts as embedded, but the 'Edit Document Text' option under 'Content' doesn't allow this.
I have these PDF catalogs which are about 20 - 50MB each. Some of my customers are not comfortable browsing online so a digital catalog (here) works better for them... The same people generally have bad internet connections so I need to re size these PDF's so they can be downloaded rather quickly.  Starting with a 20MB PDF, I open all slides within Photoshop. I batch process the images from 300dpi to 96dpi , and shrink the size from 24 Inches across to 15... All the images are saved in a new folder, opened back in Photoshop and a new PDF is created. Considering both size and dpi has been clipped by a fairly large amount, you would think that the new PDF would be smaller... But its not, the 20MB version ends up around 60MB afterward.  I don't feel like purchasing Acrobat Pro because I know this should work within Photoshop.
I save .eps files in photoshop 7.0., open them in freehand MX, make a .pdf and some pictures don't appear in the .pdf (but the old ones do). I tried the whole process (from scanning on) but it doesn't work. I installed the new full versions again... any idea about the export preferences or preview formats (freehand says it doesn't accept TIFF previews..!?)
I created a magazine cover in ps the saved in .pdf format I am wanting to a a few artles I wrote and saved to .pdf and combine the. Like Mage cover, index page , articles about 8 saved.
I want them all in 1 .pdf combined instead of having to dl multiple files.
Has anyone had any luck exporting a Revit 3D model directly to Acrobat 3D? I can't seem to get it to work.I can export to AutoCAD and then to Acrobat 3D, but I lose all embedded Revit information.
When using the "Save Optimized" dialog in Adobe Acrobat X, we can see that Acrobat strips out a LOT of stuff from the document to make the size as manageable as possible. But I can't for the life of me find the checkbox corresponding to whatever it is that strips LINKS from the document. Â When I use the "Save Optimized" option, then try to view the document in Reader, I can see the cursor change to a hand when it hovers over what SHOULD be a link, but there's no url attached to the link anymore. Clicking does nothing. "Save Optimized" kept the link there, but stripped the info of where the link is supposed to take the user. Â what to uncheck to make sure links remain intact after a "Save Optimized"?
I have a problem pasting an Adobe Acrobat snapshot as new picture in PSP4. Pasting it directly e.g. to MS Word works fine, but I would need some of the snapshots also as a jpg file.
I use the Adobe Acrobat X (ver 10.1.2) Standard snapshot tool to copy a picture and then try to paste it to PSP4 as new image. The result is every time the same: about 7 mm slice from the right is moved to the left side of the image. See attachment.
The attached file is an example showing 7 mm slice from right side of the image on the left side.
Any success in using Photopaint or Draw to edit PDF's within Acrobat.
I have Acrobat Pro 7.0. When I change the preferences to use PhotoPaint/Draw Acrobat will open the object and I can edit but when saving it wants to save to a new file - not back into the PDF.
Since I've upgraded to CS3, I've had this problem. Every document I design in Photoshop will look perfect but will add a blue tint to the canvas when converted into a PDF. It will do this whether the file is a PSD or JPG. It doesn't matter if it's text only or text and a photo. It only puts the blue tint on the actual PS canvas area, so if the canvas size is 5x7 and the document size I choose for the PDF is 8.5x11 then the blue tint is only on the 5x7, not the outer edges of the PDF - it is white.
how to open adobe acrobat reader without having to open photoshop? i keep getting this message when opening pdf files. "adobe acrobat was installed as part of a suite. to enable adobe acrobat, please start another component of this suite(such as photoshop)
I don't have photoshop and all the instructions say to save the transparency directly to pdf in photoshop. Saving to gif, tiff, png and opening as a stamp in acrobat or copy and pasting the transparency from paint.net into acrobat always removes the alpha channel.
Exporting PDFs from an InDesign file, have tried X-1, X-3, Interactive. When I try to open the PDF in Acrobat, dialog pops up that says "Acrobat could not open <filename> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged... Â This isn't a PDF that's been emailed or moved between computers, this is right after I export from InDesign on my home PC. Â What's going on? I need to print this document tomorrow for a final presentation!
I recently changed PCs and installed AutoCAD 2012 to the new machine. I was working on a patent and exported to PDF like I always do. The problem is that when I do that it automatically opens up the pdf in Acrobat after I've exported. I want to turn that feature off. I export dozens and dozens so the opening of every pdf would be very cumbersome.
I recently installed a trial version of Photoshop CS2 which was on a disc lent to me. I am now regretting this action because when I go to open a PDF file it defaults to Photoshop instead of Acrobat Reader. When attempting to un-install this trial version of CS2 I get an error message "Error 1324. The path 'My Pictures' cantains an invalid character"
