Photoshop :: Error 1324 + PDF's Are Defaulting PS Instead Of Acrobat Reader
May 25, 2009
I recently installed a trial version of Photoshop CS2 which was on a disc lent to me. I am now regretting this action because when I go to open a PDF file it defaults to Photoshop instead of Acrobat Reader. When attempting to un-install this trial version of CS2 I get an error message "Error 1324. The path 'My Pictures' cantains an invalid character"
how to open adobe acrobat reader without having to open photoshop? i keep getting this message when opening pdf files. "adobe acrobat was installed as part of a suite. to enable adobe acrobat, please start another component of this suite(such as photoshop)
Exporting PDFs from an InDesign file, have tried X-1, X-3, Interactive. When I try to open the PDF in Acrobat, dialog pops up that says "Acrobat could not open <filename> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged... Â This isn't a PDF that's been emailed or moved between computers, this is right after I export from InDesign on my home PC. Â What's going on? I need to print this document tomorrow for a final presentation!
I'm currently getting the "1324 Error. The folder path 'My Documents' contains an invalid character."
when trying to run AutoCad 2010. It had been working fine previously, but now it gives this error and won't allow me to use it. I am also unable to uninstall or reinstall the program without getting the same error.
I have confirmed that the profile is not set to roaming. I have also tried deleting the registry entries as recomended here:

The user account is local administrator. The OS is Windows 7 64bit.
When I try to import the sketchup file into max i get the error "X32 reader terminated unexpected" I have tried importing to 3ds max design 2013 and 2014 and used different sketchup versions and also files as simple as a box. everytime i get the same error.
How do I fix the issue of the shutting down? I had been printing and then it wouldn't let me. i have updated everything and still won't work. I have windows 7 and lightroom 3.6.
I get "Fatal Error: Unhandled c000000dh Exception at 24079af3h" every time when I print to pdf with Acrobat 9 in AutoCAD 2012. However, the Acrobat converter is working properly in other applications. It only happens in ACad 2012.
My AutoCad 2013 is a bit unstable and crashes fairly often. Autodesk is telling me to install the 64 bit service pack. When I try to run it, I get an error code 1324 (illegal character in My Documents) and error code 1603.Â
DVD menu where I went File > New > NTSC DV Wide to create the document, as per the video house's instructions. Now everytime I open ANY file, old or new, a warning pops up to let me know Pixel Aspect Ration Correction is on and to turn it off if I don't want it. This means dozens of times per day, I have to go View > Pixel Aspect Ration Correction just to turn it off.
I can't figure out how to turn this crap off permanently. Why the hell would it default to ON just because I used it once?
I have Photoshop CS5.5 with Suitcase Fusion 15.0.5. When I use any kind of typeface in a Photoshop file it appears jagged. When I rasterized the type, the edges are still jagged. It does display the correct font and not defaulting to a generic one. It is just that the curved edges are bad. Â I am to figure out if this is a Photoshop or Suitcase issue. I have reinstalled the suitcase plugin, no change. Reset Photoshop to it's defaults. My other apps (e.g. Adobe, Apple and Microsoft), the fonts look great.
How can I make LR3 not automatically create a TIF file when I open a DNG for the first time? I don't want this to happen. I've checked every preference I can find and can't find any settings to change this. When I try to do a batch run from CS4 on the DNG files, because LR3 creates a TIF files simultaneously, the batch next wants to run on the TIF file LR3 created in the same folder as the DNG files!
When using Ai CS6 I'm finding that no matter what tools I have selected Ai keeps defaulting to the pen tool, useually Delete Ancor. Have I just not set something correctly??
I have to manually change the audio setting to capture from the system speakers rather than the mic every time I use it. Its nailed me on more than one occasion, going through hours of lecture and discovering I didn't get the audio. Is there anyway to change it so it defaults to the speakers? Record the speaker output I mean.
Is there any way to default the "Area to Save" option on the export menu, to "Page"? This is nothing crucial, but it would save me some time, because I select that hundreds of times. If I could pre-define "Page", I would be even more happy
When starting CS2 the programme loads to the end and about three seconds after a message appears.
An error has been detected with a required application.
This does not happen with Image ready. I have installed PS7 and this is not affected.
Searching through various sites I found that CS2 can cause conflicts with Acrobat 8.0.
Error "...Model subsystem..." when you start Help Center from any CS2 application
Issue
When you start the Help Center from an Adobe Creative Suite 2 application (Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive, Photoshop, or Acrobat), you receive one of the following error messages:
-- "Model subsystem error: 1016" -- "Adobe Help Center cannot start. model subsystem returned this error: 1105" -- "Model Subsystem 1146: Adobe Help Cannot Start" -- "Model subsystem error: 1017" -- "Adobe Help cannot start: Model subsystem error returned this error: 1030"
-- "Adobe Help Center cannot start. model subsystem returned this error: 1"
I get the Model subsystem 1146 error.
I've re-set preferences and reinstalled the programme some ten times.
I still can't use Photoshop CS2 I really need Photomerge for my work.
I am having a problem with dimension lines defaulting with blue text. I have set my defaults to black but it does not change. Other designers in my company are having the same problem.
Basically what I said in the title, and I can't change it to something that's easier to look at. I can change the color of individual faces if I use the "adjust" tool, beyond that the only way I can change it is if I go to the "Realistically Colored Model" and turn on "Ray Shading" which basically renders it. When I select the body and hover over the current color it says "As Application Surface Color". Thats what the first attached picture is. In the 2nd attached picture, it is clearly not light red. And its still transparent which is bugging me more. format of the attached pictures. Untitled.jpg
I am using cs5.5 and i can't find any option in the print window to switch double sided printing on/off. The default printer settings on my Mac have already been set up for 1 sided printing.
I have saved a psd file as a photoshop pdf and opened with Acrobat Pro. Is it possible to edit the text in Acrobat? I have read online that it should be possible, and when I open the file it shows the fonts as embedded, but the 'Edit Document Text' option under 'Content' doesn't allow this.
we have just upgraded our 5 man shop to X6.This is happening on all of our setups.
when we are selecting a row of text to edit. if you start typing while the old text is highlighted it will keep the current font and color.
if you select that row and hit backspace to delete a few letters until the text line is empty and begin typing it will default to Arial and make the color black.
I am working with AC 2012 LT on a Windows 7 x64 system and printing to an HP Laserjet 5200tn connected by USB. The issue that we are having is when we try to print a secion of a drawing. Under the printer properties, portrait is selected and the layout window shows a portrait orientation. However, when we preview or print, the results are in landscape orientation. I've gone over the printer settings a few times, updated the driver, and tested that other programs on the same computer don't  have the same issue.
On a few random idw files we are seeing the default "Number of copies" in the settings section of the print dialog box with strange high numbers in this case 693965387. As soon as the user selects a different printer the number drops to 1. If the user selects the printer properties and navigates to the advanced page the Copy Count is 1969. I have checked the default printer settings and it is set to 1 copy.
I have these PDF catalogs which are about 20 - 50MB each. Some of my customers are not comfortable browsing online so a digital catalog (here) works better for them... The same people generally have bad internet connections so I need to re size these PDF's so they can be downloaded rather quickly.  Starting with a 20MB PDF, I open all slides within Photoshop. I batch process the images from 300dpi to 96dpi , and shrink the size from 24 Inches across to 15... All the images are saved in a new folder, opened back in Photoshop and a new PDF is created. Considering both size and dpi has been clipped by a fairly large amount, you would think that the new PDF would be smaller... But its not, the 20MB version ends up around 60MB afterward.  I don't feel like purchasing Acrobat Pro because I know this should work within Photoshop.
I save .eps files in photoshop 7.0., open them in freehand MX, make a .pdf and some pictures don't appear in the .pdf (but the old ones do). I tried the whole process (from scanning on) but it doesn't work. I installed the new full versions again... any idea about the export preferences or preview formats (freehand says it doesn't accept TIFF previews..!?)
I created a magazine cover in ps the saved in .pdf format I am wanting to a a few artles I wrote and saved to .pdf and combine the. Like Mage cover, index page , articles about 8 saved.
I want them all in 1 .pdf combined instead of having to dl multiple files.
After a complete computer format, I was able to make cs6 work. Then I started experiencing slowdowns again. What had I installed that was not ok? Well, turns out that restoring my pc to a point right before the installation of Adobe Reader fixed everything. And I have the same problems if I go on a webpage where Flash Player is working.
