Oct 9, 2013 with saving on Photoshop CC? Quite often it has happened to me that I will hit Command+S, but I won't see the saving bar at the bottom of the document, and if I then close the document it won't prompt me to save, but if I close the file it won't be saved.
If before I close the file I go to the File menu, the "Save" option is grayed out (as if I had just saved), but the file is not saved. If I close the file, I loose all my work

AutoCad :: SAVEAS Looses File Name When Saving Through Shortcut Key
Feb 27, 2013I have a folder on a my desktop with shortcuts to my active projects in my company's network. When I run SAVEAS in AutoCAD, I browse for the respective file using the shortcuts folder. However, the file name is now changing to the name of the shortcut folder. For example, a file is named PreliminaryPlat.dwg. I want to SAVEAS PreliminaryPlat.dwg in P:/111-05-02/Plats. Rather than go through hundreds of folders in the P:/ drive, I click on a shortcut in a FOLDER on my desktop for P:/111-05-02/Plats. When I run the SAVEAS in AutoCAD, the window is prompting me to save the drawing as P:/111-05-02/Plats. I found this error happens when I SAVEAS using a folder shortcut.

I hide some tools and rearrange them to different places within the toolbox.
I also drag some dockable dialogs together under the toolbox.
When I quit the Gimp and reopen it, the toolbox and dialogs are set to default and the tools that I've hidden are back in the toolbox. Gimp is ignoring my preferences.

When I use photoshop with my tablet I can use my secondary of my pen button to quickly change size. But in gimp for mac it's a nightmare (secondary button doesn't acces brush settings) to change quickly brush sizes. Specially as a painter.
Is there any shortcut for gimp (MAC) ?

Sep 22, 2011I am testing the LT 2012 version in Windows. I want to use the pan command which used to be a easily visible button, one click. In 2012 I have to go to View>Pan to acess the button, 2 clicks, If I type P I get a popup menu with every command starting with a P, with Pan at the top, click on Pan, 2 clicks again.
So, can I move the Pan button to the Home tab to make it simpler? Can I edit something so when I type P it knows I mean Pan and don't have to make another choice?
This is really slowing down my process and work flow, it's like stutter! Used to be a seamless flow of click, click, click. Now it is click, pause, search, click, pause, search, click.

Mar 6, 2012I like to use keyboard shortcuts in GIMP to select different tools or to nudge an image, but I frequently click on the layers window, which causes keyboard shortcut commands to then be directed to the layers window. So whenever I click to select a different layer or do anything with layers, afterwards I always have to have to click on the image window again to regain use of my editing keyboard shortcuts.
Because of this, I also often forget that layers window has focus and end up messing up my layers with key-shortcut commands intended for the image window. Is there some change I can make to my workflow or keyboard bindings to avoid this problem?

Aug 1, 2012I have been looking for a way to toggle which brush is selected with a custom key but I cant seem to figure out how to do it. Perhaps even better would be to select specific tool presets with custom keys.
I should also note that I am aware of the shortcut action "Select Brush by Index", however it always selects the first brush. Is there a way to change the index number?

Aug 30, 2013I have Gimp 2.8 and I am using Single-Window Mode. I have about 15 images open at the same time and I am doing repetitive tasks on each of them. I made keyboard shortcuts to do the tasks themselves but I still have to use my mouse to go up and click the next tab to start work on the next image. It would save time if there were a keyboard shortcut. I see that under the Windows menu I can use Alt+1 through Alt+0 to select any of the first 10 images, but I have 15 open.
I wanted to know if there is a keyboard shortcut to just switch to the next tab or the previous tab.

Apr 22, 2013Out of the blue today, my OSNAP shortcuts disappeared. Whenever I'd bring up the menu, I could not hit the E key on the keyboard for Endpoint or any other shortcut keystroke. Upon more research, this applied to all menus. Turns out this is not an Autodesk issue but a Windows setting. Here's how to restore if you encounter this as well.
1. Hit the Windows + U keys to bring up the Ease of Accees Center
2. Click on "Make the keyboard easier to use
3. Check Underline keyboard shortcuts and access keys

Jan 6, 2009In previous versions, when in the file requester, with the File Type field focused, I could type the first letter of the format I wanted (ex. J for Jpeg), and it would select it. That was a nice little feature that sped up the saving process (...didn't have to open up the File Type pulldown, and scroll through the selections until I found the one I wanted).
Is that now gone in CS3 (extended), or is there some setting I can change to get that back?
