the reason that I've always used Font Navigator is that If you open a CorelDraw file that is missing fonts, Font Navigator will install those fonts if they exist on your system...

now with X4 dont load the proper fonts or suggest other ( suppose from Unicode structure of the font?)
I use TTF and OTF fonts i have them in separate folder..,
I work with Corel X6 and Beatstream Navigator on regular basis. During start and save Corel & Beatstream make changes inside Windows system font (In my case Sagoe UI) and compromise it's usage for Adobe Photoshop CS6.
It's crash core menus and banners inside PS6.
Problem go away if you uninstall Bitstream Font Navigator.
Is there any other newer type manager or any other solution to solve this problem?
I've always wondered, what does Bitstream Font Nav do, and why do I want to install it?

I have too many fonts installed right now so I want to reduce that number but I don't want to cause a problem if those are required to stay in place.

Bitstream font manager will not open. I have un-installed it, reinstalled it, uninstalled the complete suite and then reinstalled it. Was there not an issue last year with a Microsoft Security update that disabled Type1 fonts, but I'm sure Bitsream did still work. Today I had an update for "Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer" but I restored XP before today's update to try and eliminate that as being the problem. Last week I had problems with "User Profiles" being corrupted (no cdr files were listed that I could see) due to overheating hard drives but that was sorted out and everything has been fine untill today.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently decided to start using bit stream font navigator, how every when I first opened it and went through the wizard process, I wasn't thinking clearly and I had all my fonts saved to a flash drive. Well know i went to actually use the font catalog and it shows all my 400 plus fonts but there not usable. I keep getting a window that says to insert disc. Even though I have my flash drive plugged in and also moved a folder with all the fonts to my desk top, it still will not recognize the fonts. I have searched and tried a couple things with no luck. I'm running X6 on Windows 8.

Well actually it worked once, then when I went to add more fonts (find fonts) it just freezes up. I have uninstalled and re installed it and still have same problem. Never had this problem on windows xp.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy font navigator used to install the font automatically if I have it on the system but it wasn't installed. It has quit doing that. It tells me I'm missing the font then I have to manually go to the navigator and install it then open the file again. I've had this happen on multiple systems and versions of corel. I'm currently running X5 on Vista-64.
Just to clarify. When I open a file that I don't have the font installed for it will bring up a dialog box that says missing fonts. See screen shot below. The part that says install from Font Navigator is Grey and I can't select it no matter what. I have to take note of what fonts are missing then open font navigator, load them in and then re open the file. It worked fine a couple of weeks ago and then just quit.
So we have three computers hooked up here, all running off a main terabyte drive where all the fonts are stored. Bitstream, X3, and X5 are on all the computers. Bitstream works on 2 out of the 3, but on this one when I go to the drop down list in the Font Navigator I only get the option for the Local C and DVD drive. I can log on to the "Network" version of the terabyte drive, but once I get in it asks me for a password when the drive has not set up to be password protected. I have installed service pack 1 and 2 for X3 + the Bitstream patch. I'm running Windows 7.

I have a problem opening Font Navigator in Windows 7.
When I click the exe startup for Font Navigator Windows 7 asks if it's OK for this program to make changes to my computer. I answer yes, the screen flickers and Font Navigator fails to open.
This is a recent problem and I can't trace it to any changes on my PC. I have completely cleared Corel Suite from the computer and reloaded the applications.Â
I tried Nexus font (finally) and don't see why people have mentioned it. I don't like it and uninstalled it quickly.Which font manager do you think is better than Font Nav?

The version that came with X4 worked in XP, but when I upgraded to Windows 7 it wouldn't install Type 1 fonts, and it wouldn't install any missing fonts when a file loaded. I buy Font Expert, though I never got it to work as well as the old FN.
But my new (trial) version of X5 has a version of the utility (v. 6.0.0, build 108) that seems to work just fine both ways. Thats a wonderful. When did this happen? There's a noticeable difference in the versions, according to xplorer2. X4's version:

I can no longer load X4's version; only v. 6.0.0 comes up, so I can't compare. But FN now works properly in X4, too, so Corel must have done something to address this. Cool.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAny way to set a default zoom percentage value in the Photoshop CS6 Navigator panel?I normally zoom in and out using the CMD and + - keys, which give 12.5%, 16.67%, 25%, 33.33%, etc.I would like to set the value at the bottom left of the Navigator panel to 31.5%, then click and somewhere and save this as one of the default settings, so that it would replace,33.33% or come between that and 25%

A bit of a strange value I know, but I've found that this value gives me an image on the screen that is the same size as what I get out of the printer.bind having to type in 31.5 over and over again in the Navigator.
Does it make sense to use PN for a residential project. This house is in a location that requieres the living space to be 36" above the garage level. In addition the LR ceiling is 18' higher than the other rooms. How shouuld I set up the levels in the construct tab of PN. I am thinking that the garage is level 0, and the other rooms other than LR would be level 1 and the LR to be level2. Or is it that the whole house is one level with 3 divisions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile working on any project in Photoshop CS4, and frequently while switching between images, the main image workspace (on the left) goes dark, while the "Navigator" stays the correct, brighter color. Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know of a way to fix it? The only way I have been able to reset this is by closing and opening Photoshop. But, it gets quite annoying working over several hours and having to close all of the files and reopen them multiple times. I do have OpenGL enabled. I have attached a screenshot of an example. Notice the brightness of the image on the left vs in the navigator.

Not sure if I exlpained it clearly.this option enables you to slide the red square (in the nav box)..outside of the viewer.. normally it stops when it hits the border..
My navigator window gets stuck on a previous image from time to time. Random moves like switching back to Library module or reloading / zooming the image doesn't seem to work either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI try to work with the 3D space navigator, but somehow I do something wrong (I guess) When I try to zoom it works fine until I'm really close at the drawing and then suddenly it zooms very fast and I loose the drawing from the screen. I then have to give the command Zoom all to find my drawing again.
Furthermore on a regular base Autocad shuts down when I "play"with de 3D connection. Can it be that this is an Cad problem or a space navigator problem?

Had file "weirdness" when users place "odd" characters in filenames?For example, I have several users that use the ampersand sign in the file name as in: FF&E HT.dwg.
I'm wondering if this causes an issue with the corresponding XML file since the ampersand is kind of a special character.
These users were able to open different versions of the "same" file at various points in its generation. One was the current version, another was several days old and the third version was a month or so old. Each time the file was opened (on the same day and time), the users did not get a warning stating the file was already opened and they both opened the file from Project Navigator.
We are currently running AutoCAD Architecture 2011.
Why I cannot see all my folders from my external disk on the navigator? When I go into import mode I see the missing folders BUT all the pics are greyed out meaning that they are part of the catalog already how do I get them in the Navigator library?
