Photoshop :: Image Goes Dark, But Not In Navigator

While working on any project in Photoshop CS4, and frequently while switching between images, the main image workspace (on the left) goes dark, while the "Navigator" stays the correct, brighter color. Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know of a way to fix it? The only way I have been able to reset this is by closing and opening Photoshop. But, it gets quite annoying working over several hours and having to close all of the files and reopen them multiple times. I do have OpenGL enabled. I have attached a screenshot of an example. Notice the brightness of the image on the left vs in the navigator.
I am very news to photoshop and I am using CS4 and have experienced a problem today that I have not encountered before.l When cropping a picture just a small green box with the normal red outline exists in Navigator howeverf if I click on Histroy the original pictgure will show back up on photoshop.
for the first three weeks I did not have a probloem with this issue, I am trying to get a fell for photoshop and then upgrade to the newest edition.Â
CS3, Vista OS, Nikon NEF file After making image adjustment in Camera Raw the image is very dark when opened in CS3. Can correct by adjusting gamma in exposure or blending a new duplicate layer using screen.
Is there any way to avoid the extra steps or am I doing something wrong?
My friend has taken some engagement photographs and unfortunately the couple have dark hair and the background is also dark - I think you can see her problem with the photos. Somehow the background needs to be lightened and neither of us know how (we both have Photoshop 7)
I have been using the Dark Strokes filter.. now suddenly when I go to apply it the image is turning orange. My foreground & Background colors are set to white and black.
I am having a huge issue with Photoshop CS5.5. The gradients and colors are acting crazy. When I bring in a image with a gradient it gets black spots all in the dark areas. Even when I use the default gradient selection this is what happens. When I bring in a picture that should have a white background it turns to black. Now apparently, when I save it out as a JPEG saves correctly without the black line or messed up gradients. So it seems to only be an issue when I am working in Photoshop, the gradients appear messed up. What is wrong with my display?
I am not able to print images in Photoshop cs6 accurately using my Epson r1900 printer. This seems to have become an issue only since installing cs6. The images look dark and murky. I am using osx 10.7
I cropped my picture from the white background and added a black Background and now i got a bright border around my watch  I found a guide via google which told me how to do that but this guide is for PS not PSE and in PSE we not have layer matting (or at least i din't found it) so my question is, is there a way to delete this "borders" from my image with PSE easy way? If I increase exposure or ISO, I either get blury image due to long exposure or noisy sensitive photo from high ISO. And the flash just looks ugly. So I took a fairly dark shot and wants to imporve it using Paint .Net. Is there plug-in or tutorial for this? I tried to use auto-level, which is horrible looking. Recently I have seen a pretty effective HDR Simulation effect on Fantacia Painter Free on my WinPh7. The result is natrual and yet brighter. How do I make something like that. Making a fairly dark photo (not too dark) to a better brighter and still natrual looking one?
i recently started using GIMP and i made afew stencils with pretty decent success. i started making my 3rd stencil and when i go to fill the image with a dark color, it fills with dark gray instead of dark green, and the light color wont fill at all.
How I extract a reasonably dark image from its background? Below are two identical images with white background.
But the preset color of my vistaprint business card is light blue. So I just want to paste the image from the links below onto a light blue business card if that is possible.

but for some reason the resolution from this home made job comes out terrible at Vista Print so I have to do the card writing on their site and give them a better resolution image which the one in the first two links is.
I want to change the color to hex #00aced (0, 172, 237). I tried the colorfy, but the image comes out purple. Another way that has worked for me in the past, with white images, is by clicking on the channel dialog and dragging the red down. Clicking on the eye, next delete the original image and than add a new foreground color based on what color I selected from the palette. Of course this isn't working either since the image is so dark.
Now in channel mixer it could work if the RGB would go higher than 200, but since my blue is 237 this is where I am stuck. It has worked with other colors, as long as the RGB is less than 200. This is by selecting each output individually, for example, starting with red and entering a value in red and leaving green and blue at 0. Next selecting Green, entering a value in green and leaving red and blue at 0, and so on... Is there some type of mathematical solution for using the channel mixer, or simple yet, is there a way of making my image more white, without losing my shadows?
I'm using Illustrator cs6. I would like to change the dark gray background that surrounds the art board to a step and repeat patterns of our logo. We use screenshots as a means of generating low-res proofs. Having our step and repeat logo pattern as the background would allow us to easily include it in our low-res screenshot proofs. Can I replace the "system file" for the dark gray to our step and repeat pattern?
Am a very recent purchaser of Pro X6, and was wondering the best way to separate or 'lift' the darker areas of an image from lighter areas. I have attached an image as an example. Ideally, I'd like to separate entirely everything in the image that is yellow, from everything that is not.
In LR 4, a small dark circle is appearing in the right upper corner of an image; hovering over it does not bring up an explanation and when tapping on it, it turns white?
How do you join a multi-word keyword so it is recognized as one keyword? i.e. If you want "New York", not "New" and "York." Do you put it in quotes? Isolate it with commas? Other?  Ocean View Ocean Front Over the Water  I try to do this in Library Mode, Keyword Creation box, I get 2 words.  Example, I type Los Angeles and get: Angeles, Los  Nothing I try works. I know it is common since I imported 200,000 images and I see lots of word combos used as keywords.
Any way to set a default zoom percentage value in the Photoshop CS6 Navigator panel?I normally zoom in and out using the CMD and + - keys, which give 12.5%, 16.67%, 25%, 33.33%, etc.I would like to set the value at the bottom left of the Navigator panel to 31.5%, then click and somewhere and save this as one of the default settings, so that it would replace,33.33% or come between that and 25% Â A bit of a strange value I know, but I've found that this value gives me an image on the screen that is the same size as what I get out of the printer.bind having to type in 31.5 over and over again in the Navigator.
In one of the Photoshop view mode (if you press F)..you can scroll beyond the border of the image. I love this feature, but I cant do this in the normal view.. is there any way to enable this?
Not sure if I exlpained it clearly.this option enables you to slide the red square (in the nav box)..outside of the viewer.. normally it stops when it hits the border..
I just got PSE 9 because I hate PSE 10 and 11. I'm used to being able to move the Navigator Panel wherever I want, but in PSE 9 it seems to be locked in the panel area and I don't see how to move it elsewhere. How do I move the Navigator Panel?
I was wondering if there could be a feature where you can right-click the Navigator window to set custom percentages? Â When you currently right-click the navigator it just uses the OSX system right-click. I have been needing to use the percentage 133.33 during a project and have to manually type it in each time. If you could mark custom percentages as a breakpoint it would allow me to jump to that breakpoint when using CMD - /CMD + .
the reason that I've always used Font Navigator is that If you open a CorelDraw file that is missing fonts, Font Navigator will install those fonts if they exist on your system...

now with X4 dont load the proper fonts or suggest other ( suppose from Unicode structure of the font?)
I use TTF and OTF fonts i have them in separate folder..,
I work with Corel X6 and Beatstream Navigator on regular basis. During start and save Corel & Beatstream make changes inside Windows system font (In my case Sagoe UI) and compromise it's usage for Adobe Photoshop CS6.
It's crash core menus and banners inside PS6.
Problem go away if you uninstall Bitstream Font Navigator.
Is there any other newer type manager or any other solution to solve this problem?
I put corel draw x3 on a new  laptop with window 7 and the bitsteam font navigator will not work. Well actually it worked once, then when I went to add more fonts (find fonts) it just freezes up. I have uninstalled and re installed it and still have same problem. Never had this problem on windows xp.
Does it make sense to use PN for a residential project. This house is in a location that requieres the living space to be 36" above the garage level. In addition the LR ceiling is 18' higher than the other rooms. How shouuld I set up the levels in the construct tab of PN. I am thinking that the garage is level 0, and the other rooms other than LR would be level 1 and the LR to be level2. Or is it that the whole house is one level with 3 divisions?
My navigator window gets stuck on a previous image from time to time. Random moves like switching back to Library module or reloading / zooming the image doesn't seem to work either.
The (X4) Font Navigator will not work in Windows 7. It is preventing files created on my office computer (windows XP) Â from opening on my home computer (windows 7)
My font navigator used to install the font automatically if I have it on the system but it wasn't installed. It has quit doing that. It tells me I'm missing the font then I have to manually go to the navigator and install it then open the file again. I've had this happen on multiple systems and versions of corel. I'm currently running X5 on Vista-64.
Just to clarify. When I open a file that I don't have the font installed for it will bring up a dialog box that says missing fonts. See screen shot below. The part that says install from Font Navigator is Grey and I can't select it no matter what. I have to take note of what fonts are missing then open font navigator, load them in and then re open the file. It worked fine a couple of weeks ago and then just quit.
