View 1 RepliesI have to set up a project in Navigator so we can get started on it but I will have to go back and change the project number when we get it.
My question is how do I change the project no so that it re paths everything and reorganizes itself numerically in Windows Explorer...or should I just create a new project in Navigator and copy the files I need into the new project?
Does it make sense to use PN for a residential project. This house is in a location that requieres the living space to be 36" above the garage level. In addition the LR ceiling is 18' higher than the other rooms. How shouuld I set up the levels in the construct tab of PN. I am thinking that the garage is level 0, and the other rooms other than LR would be level 1 and the LR to be level2. Or is it that the whole house is one level with 3 divisions?

Had file "weirdness" when users place "odd" characters in filenames? For example, I have several users that use the ampersand sign in the file name as in: FF&E HT.dwg.
I'm wondering if this causes an issue with the corresponding XML file since the ampersand is kind of a special character.
These users were able to open different versions of the "same" file at various points in its generation. One was the current version, another was several days old and the third version was a month or so old. Each time the file was opened (on the same day and time), the users did not get a warning stating the file was already opened and they both opened the file from Project Navigator.
We are currently running AutoCAD Architecture 2011.
Is it possible to include an existing drawing into a new project I created so it shows up in the project navigator?
I'm running ACA 2011.
I am new to the project navigator, I have several projects I would like to move to another computer and I am not sure how to do this. I have searched but must not have used the right words in the search. What is the correct way to move or export these project and import them into the other PC?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my office of about 30 computers and over the course of about 10-12 months we have been experiencing a problem with project navigator. When opening ACAD or changing projects about 60% of the time it gets hung up and the load bar perpetually loads over and over again. If just left to run it takes 5-10 mins to load the project then ACAD will crash after a couple of commands. If opening the task manager and ending the program it will often freeze the computer for about 5-10 mins as well.
We have been actively using the project navigator for years and not until the last yr have we been having this problem. We bought pretty much the whole office new computers a few months ago and the problem still exists. We are running AutoCAD Architecture 2012 and our machines are window 7, intel core i7 3.5 GHz, 8 GB ram, 64 bit operating systems, with a Nvidia Quadro 2000 graphics card. So our machines are solid.
Co-Worker was in the process of moving his mouse, accidentally clicked, catching PN and began draggin it. Upon unclicking, PN moved to what I can only describe as the background.
Currently have MdiTab18.arx loaded in my applications to provide drawing tabs. PN appears BEHIND THAT. Toolbars and pull down menus are in front of it. unloading app, moving toolbars,....nothing allows me access to it to drag it back.
Tried restarting, but PN stays put. Tried different work space, but PN doesn't move.
How can I change the way the Project Browser maps the creation of new projects?
Currently, the new project folder is created and named according to the Project Name prompt. We want the folder to be named according to the Project Number prompt...
Often when I attempt to insert a sheet list from the project navigator to a sheet, nothing happens. The sheet index will not insert. Why does this happen? Better yet, how can I fix it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat is the proper way to copy a project to a new folder and the projects not be linked in any way to each other. In other words I want to have a completely independent project that I can make minor changes to without it affecting the original project in any way because no matter what copy method or pack-n-go I have tried, the link is still there from the new project to the original. How do i break that link.

I have finished a family project (mainly images with titles) for my granddaughter and burned it to DVD. I included quite a few photos of her ancestors and titled them all. I am extremely happy with the result. How I need to do the same for my grandson. This one will include all the photos I have from his birth to his latest 14th Birthday. I would like to copy the section on Ancestors from my granddaughter's DVD to this new one without having to add all the old photos again and add titles to each.
Would it be possible to load the original VSP file and delete all the other content and then add new content around it? Is there an easier and more "professional" way to do this?
Let's say I have a some footage in one project with all the effects, fade-ins/outs etc I want and I want to use the very same thing in another project. How can I get only this one part from project A to B.
Open a second VS don't work out of the box. It just goes to my already open window, if I try to open again. I don't want to convert is as a Video first - if I ever want to make changes this might make it more complicated - depending on the situation.
I'm working on a project that pulls together many short clips from many much longer video files e.g. there might be less than a minute pulled from a 60 minute file then another then another etc. I found that my computer (which is reasonably beefy) was struggling to cope with the workload so I split the project into separate project files i.e. Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3. My thinking was that once I had done all the editing I could cut and paste all the clips into a single new project file before rendering the entire thing. But I can't work out how to do it! Sure, I can copy and past individual clips or even a sequence of clips but on pasting they lose all the editing I've done! I just end up with a uniform bunch of unedited clips!
I guess the alternative is to render each project file (1, 2 and 3) separately then pull the rendered videos together into Project 4. I can then render Project 4 to give me my final 'movie'. But surely that means as I've rendered everything twice I'm suffering a quality loss?
So the question is: is there any way of copying edited video clips from one project file into another project file AND retaining all the edits?
I was wondering if there is a way to copy tracks (video, overlay, audio) from an old project into a new project.
I have tried copy them and paste them but that is not possible.
An other solution could be to make a video file of the "old project" and import that on the video track in the new project.
In the past using Pinnacle copy tracks from other projects and paste them in new projects was a possibility.
I want to use some portions of a clip that I have modifyed to another new project. I tried with copy/past, but they are not transfered to the new project.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried to copy a premiere pro cc project to an exernal location three times and each time the operation has failed. The first time adobe told me it couldn't locate two files and erased all of the files that had been copied and the copy folder. The second time it did the same thing. The third time it told me it couldn't locate yet another file but didn't erase it just stopped running the operation and left the copy folder half completed. All of the files it is claiming to not be able to locate are linked fine inside of the timeline and it exports fine.

View 1 Replies View Relatedthe best way to archive and move/rename a project folder? As the new CAD manager for my firm I am going to restructure our entire server as the current structure is very unorganized and inefficient. Projects date back as far as the 90's and I would like to move them all into an archive folder but also have them still be working files as far as XREF's are concerned. None of the drawings have XREF's that utilize the relative file location feature so when I do move a folder, all of the XREF's must then be updated. This is not an option because I have at least 500 projects that will be moved which would be far too time consuming.

It used to be that I could choose the copy option in the rotate command and set a reference angle to create multiple copies of an object based on a rotational axis. Now the command will let you copy based on a reference angle, but only once. Is there a system variable I can set to bring this option back?
