Jul 23, 2013With other software in the past, I have been able to set a default substitue font for a specific font not in my system, but I cannot see how to do this in Illustrator.
Another designer uses the same font as me, but his computer has labeled it differently, so every time I open a file in which he has used that font, Illustrator says the font is missing. instead of having to go in and manually change the font every time I open a files he has worked on, I would like to set Illustrator to automatically change the font on opening.

Apr 15, 2010How to 'install' Type One fonts under Windows, especially when I want to use them with FontNav. Should the pairs be kept together within the same folder? I tend to use multiple sets of folders for other font types to aid me in organizing them within FontNav, and I love FontNav for its ability to make fonts active or inactive.

Jun 16, 2011the reason that I've always used Font Navigator is that If you open a CorelDraw file that is missing fonts, Font Navigator will install those fonts if they exist on your system...

now with X4 dont load the proper fonts or suggest other ( suppose from Unicode structure of the font?)
I use TTF and OTF fonts i have them in separate folder..,

Dec 14, 2012I work with Corel X6 and Beatstream Navigator on regular basis. During start and save Corel & Beatstream make changes inside Windows system font (In my case Sagoe UI) and compromise it's usage for Adobe Photoshop CS6.
It's crash core menus and banners inside PS6.
Problem go away if you uninstall Bitstream Font Navigator.
Is there any other newer type manager or any other solution to solve this problem?

Apr 17, 2010I just upgraded to X5 and now suddenly I am having difficulty printing to my dell 3110cn laser printer. I get the error, "Unable to access printer driver. Try removing and reinstalling this printer driver". If I click OK I get the error a couple of more times followed by "Internal application error." Then Corel Draw crashes. My PC is running Windows 7 64 bit.
I have tried re-installing the printer driver with the latest from dell and uninstalling and re-installing corel draw, but nothing has worked. I am about ready to go back to X4.

Apr 1, 2012The tool now appears to be greyed out , have done file repair each time , but only lasts a few goes then goes back to greyed out state.
It is impossible to get anywork done because of this bug.
As an emerbgency have had to go back to X5.
Also serial number does not work in Website Creator X6 ... more bugs.

May 29, 2008I'm having trouble making fonts using X4. I've found the export "ttf" filter, and the dialog opens for my first letter, which allows me to assign the ASCII position, and that works out fine. A TTF file is created, with that letter shown. However, when I try to export the next object for the next letter, instead of simply opening the assigning dialog for the next object, so as to add to the file, it goes to the dialog asking me to name the file, and when I do, Corel crashes.

I have too many fonts installed right now so I want to reduce that number but I don't want to cause a problem if those are required to stay in place.

Bitstream font manager will not open. I have un-installed it, reinstalled it, uninstalled the complete suite and then reinstalled it. Was there not an issue last year with a Microsoft Security update that disabled Type1 fonts, but I'm sure Bitsream did still work. Today I had an update for "Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer" but I restored XP before today's update to try and eliminate that as being the problem. Last week I had problems with "User Profiles" being corrupted (no cdr files were listed that I could see) due to overheating hard drives but that was sorted out and everything has been fine untill today.

Nov 25, 2013I recently decided to start using bit stream font navigator, how every when I first opened it and went through the wizard process, I wasn't thinking clearly and I had all my fonts saved to a flash drive. Well know i went to actually use the font catalog and it shows all my 400 plus fonts but there not usable. I keep getting a window that says to insert disc. Even though I have my flash drive plugged in and also moved a folder with all the fonts to my desk top, it still will not recognize the fonts. I have searched and tried a couple things with no luck. I'm running X6 on Windows 8.

Dec 18, 2012Until recently, all the CS6 applications accessed all the fonts on my system.
Now when I click in a font drop-down menu in Photoshop or Illustrator, for example, I only get a small sub-set of fonts (the ones I believe come with the applications).
How do I get the applications to access/find/discover all the fonts I have?
Background: I am running OS 10.7.5 on my laptop, with Creative Cloud Membership. I also have CS6 Creative Cloud on my Desktop.
The only thing that has changed (that I can think of) was that I had an issue with Adobe Muse about a month ago, in which the Cloud server mistakenly said I had too many subscriptions / installations and would not let me update Muse. The Adobe Helpdesk people had to deactivate / reactivate the Creative Cloud Membership on my desktop to fix this. In between then and now I did not use any "exotic" fonts for the things I was doing, and so did not notice any missing fonts. Now I'm trying to update an older file that uses fonts not in the list.
When I checked the Help feature in Illustrator and Photoshop, it included such advice as trashing a Library file related to fonts. Wouldn't this make the CS6 applications stop working? or would the applications re-create the font "cache" from scratch again when you re-start them?

Aug 25, 2012I cannot access my fonts menu. The drop down menu is blank box and snaps shut. I also have trouble with "save as" and file format...ie save as jpg...the drop down quickly snaps shut, I can often catch it after several tries but seriously lol.
These issues have something to do with user settings...I made a secondary account and the program works fine but changing between accounts is not the best solution. Where/what I need to look at in user settings ?

May 16, 2012First, I know how to use the base-print merge functions. Right now I have a job to complete with 1000 numbered 3part NCR forms.
I have never attempted this method (print merge), mainly due to my prior equipment limitations; however I am looking at realistically being able to print 100k+ page jobs without going to press/numbering machine (if only I could land about 10x 100k+ page jobs a month--press or no press--). Anyways, when I create this print merged file it takes easily 15 minutes to save (which might be understandable due to the number of pages to generate). BUT when I go to print, Draw closes. No error. No nothing.
When I use the print function in the print merge options, things lag extraordinarily. Also, I have to click on the various options many times for them to be registered. This option is like the prior--causing extremely unstable environments.
Auto numbering is a potential blessing, but this just isn't working for me. Also, is this a known issue? An upgrade to X6 might be prudent anyways; however, X4 is working fine for everything else.
(Running 3 different computers with Windows XP home & pro 32bit, with fairly good computers.)
