What the little sun icon indicates on some of the installed fonts on Bitstream Font Navigator? I think they might be system fonts but I'm not sure.
I have too many fonts installed right now so I want to reduce that number but I don't want to cause a problem if those are required to stay in place.
I've always wondered, what does Bitstream Font Nav do, and why do I want to install it?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI work with Corel X6 and Beatstream Navigator on regular basis. During start and save Corel & Beatstream make changes inside Windows system font (In my case Sagoe UI) and compromise it's usage for Adobe Photoshop CS6.
It's crash core menus and banners inside PS6.
Problem go away if you uninstall Bitstream Font Navigator.
Is there any other newer type manager or any other solution to solve this problem?

Bitstream font manager will not open. I have un-installed it, reinstalled it, uninstalled the complete suite and then reinstalled it. Was there not an issue last year with a Microsoft Security update that disabled Type1 fonts, but I'm sure Bitsream did still work. Today I had an update for "Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer" but I restored XP before today's update to try and eliminate that as being the problem. Last week I had problems with "User Profiles" being corrupted (no cdr files were listed that I could see) due to overheating hard drives but that was sorted out and everything has been fine untill today.
I recently decided to start using bit stream font navigator, how every when I first opened it and went through the wizard process, I wasn't thinking clearly and I had all my fonts saved to a flash drive. Well know i went to actually use the font catalog and it shows all my 400 plus fonts but there not usable. I keep getting a window that says to insert disc. Even though I have my flash drive plugged in and also moved a folder with all the fonts to my desk top, it still will not recognize the fonts. I have searched and tried a couple things with no luck. I'm running X6 on Windows 8.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy font navigator used to install the font automatically if I have it on the system but it wasn't installed. It has quit doing that. It tells me I'm missing the font then I have to manually go to the navigator and install it then open the file again. I've had this happen on multiple systems and versions of corel. I'm currently running X5 on Vista-64.
Just to clarify. When I open a file that I don't have the font installed for it will bring up a dialog box that says missing fonts. See screen shot below. The part that says install from Font Navigator is Grey and I can't select it no matter what. I have to take note of what fonts are missing then open font navigator, load them in and then re open the file. It worked fine a couple of weeks ago and then just quit.
I removed Font Navigator before updating to version 16.4 because it didn't work well you know. But now I want to install it again.My system is 64 bit.
What if I install it from CD, because on CD there is the older not fixed version of FontNav and I don't know what to do next.How can I update it after installing it or I have to remove all Corel programs, reinstall them and update to 16.4?
I have a problem opening Font Navigator in Windows 7.
When I click the exe startup for Font Navigator Windows 7 asks if it's OK for this program to make changes to my computer. I answer yes, the screen flickers and Font Navigator fails to open.
This is a recent problem and I can't trace it to any changes on my PC. I have completely cleared Corel Suite from the computer and reloaded the applications.
Font Navigator stopped working correctly. Not showing any fonts. When will be update for this software?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed X6 tonight and I'm now having trouble with my Extra Large Icons in Windows Explorer. When I switch to extra large icons the first few show up correctly (CDR, JPG, GIF, etc.) but most of the rest of the GIFs and JPGs show as Corel icons. I can refresh, reload, and they still stay Corel icons. The only way to get the preview thumbnails again is to switch back to large or medium icons and then refresh. But if I switch back to extra large icons I get the same thing again. What's particularly odd is that all the Corel file formats preview correctly as extra large icons, but only a few of the GIFs and JPGs do. I have already removed and reinstalled X6 and the Corel Windows Shell Extension.
If you run the Icon size slider up, the preview thumbnails for the GIFs and JPGs change to Corel Photopaint icons as soon as you go above large icon size.
I have Win7 Pro running on an Intel i7-3820 and have updated Corel to the X6.2.
Also, I do not have any icon viewer applications installed.
I browsed around a bit and didn't see this particular problem listed.
Is there a way to change the size of the tool icons in CDR X6? They are too small for my eyes. I have looked everywhere.

Well actually it worked once, then when I went to add more fonts (find fonts) it just freezes up. I have uninstalled and re installed it and still have same problem. Never had this problem on windows xp.

But when I try to assign them, they appear larger and I can't fit them into the space allotted for an icon; in other words, they get clipped.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo we have three computers hooked up here, all running off a main terabyte drive where all the fonts are stored. Bitstream, X3, and X5 are on all the computers. Bitstream works on 2 out of the 3, but on this one when I go to the drop down list in the Font Navigator I only get the option for the Local C and DVD drive. I can log on to the "Network" version of the terabyte drive, but once I get in it asks me for a password when the drive has not set up to be password protected. I have installed service pack 1 and 2 for X3 + the Bitstream patch. I'm running Windows 7.

Two machines, both with XP, Corel Draw X3 13.0.0.576 and SF Movie Poster installed - BUT two different outputs.
Both Corels open the file and the characters with SF Movie Poster (I checked it by clicking in the words)

I am new to Corel Draw. How do I arc font? I have a customer that wants some writting arced above her logo and below her logo. The only way I know how is to creat a circle and "Fit Text To Path". But then I can't seem to delete the circle without erasing the writting as well.

I have more than 1000 installed on an xp system. I know I don't need this many. I'm sure I could get by with 400 or less. How do you thin down your fonts? How many do you try to keep on your system?
What are you using for font management? Bit stream? Something else?

I am trying to set the cut lines around a font that is an outline font and I can't get it to work - the outline just turns into the cut line and doesn't cut the font that I need.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have had this problem since I loaded CorelDRAW X6 (64-bit) in June, 2012 but was busy learning all that was new since the ancient version running on my equally ancient Windows98 machine. Up until this point, I have tried all of the directions in the manual, this forum and on the website which includes, "Save Settings As Default". (These instructions do not differ from those I use in the old CD package only where I make them.)
These are the steps taken:
Open CorelDRAW X6 starting a new file.
Go to "Text Properties" Docker & choose the font, size, etc.
Under Tools, select "Save Settings As Default", close CDX6.
Technically, these steps should have saved the new font with associated choices for all future files until I change them again, but it does not. When I open a new or existing file, my new font changes do appear on the Text docker so I choose the outlined A on the toolbox bar, my choices are still showing on the Text docker and now, also on the Property bar. As soon as I click on the workspace where the flashing cursor awaits input, the text properties change to Arial, 24 pt, which has appeared since I first loaded the package. Should I redownload and reinstall the software? If so, where are the preference files so I can save them?
