CorelDRAW X3 :: Recovery File Location

Nov 16, 2011

Had a crash eariler today and saved the A.R.M. file through the dialog box. Where again does it save to or what file type is it? I've searched the Corel Program folder but don't see it, isn't it in the user folder or some temp folder for CorelDraw?

CorelDRAW X4 :: File Recovery Dialog Box?

Oct 27, 2013

I was subject to a 10 minute power outage and lost the computer. when power returned, I tried to recover my corelDraw X4 file. No Luck. Inspite of the "backup" being scheduled every 5 minutes. the one backup file was 1 hour old.  The documentation said that the CorelDraw system stored a recovery file elsewhere and that I should go to the "File Recovery Dialog Box and "Click" the recovery file.  Where is this "File Recovery Dialog Box" ?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Printer File Location In Windows 8?

Nov 4, 2013

Which folder contains the printers that CorelDraw X6 recognizes? I'm trying to install Epilog Laser drivers on a new Win8 laptop, and somehow I have duplicate copies of the same "printer/laser engraver." I'm starting the driver instalation over, and want to remove the duplicate printers in CorelDraw. I've cleaned out all printers in control panel/devices and printers, as well as print drivers. But the duplicate printers remain in Corel X6. I've looked in each Corel folder on my computer it seems, and can't locate it. Would it by chance be a registy file I need to edit

I do not know why the catalog has changed the file location of "ALL" pictures to the location on my backup drive.

Example: K:My DocumentsMy PicturesPetsPICT1460-1.JPG

The actual location of the original photo is:  D:My DocumentsMy PicturesPetsPICT1460-1.JPG

The location of "My Pictures" is on my primary Hard Drive D:My DocumentsMy Pictures

Why is Photoshop changing all of my 37,000+ photo thumbnails to point to my Backup Drive K:?

I need to correct the catalog file. How do I make the correction and stop it from happening in the future?

Illustrator :: File Recovery Routine

May 15, 2013

So my time has come and I have just been bitten by the Illegal Operand failure upon opening a document. The doc was created in AiCS3 but I'm trying to follow the recovery procedure in AiCS6, described here: URL>....The problem is that at step 3 when I'm holding down the three keys, and hitting Open, Windows 7 is triggering the country suffix behavior and appends the country code to the selected file name, in my case - .pl. This makes my file selection invalid (myfile.ai.pl). I guess this comes from a web browser (I have almost all of them installed).

What lead the file to corruption was the spiral tool. WHen I drew the shape, all of a sudden the entire pasteboard (usually filled with dense, tiny checkerboard pattern) got filled with the stroke or fill color. I saved the file and that was it.

AutoCAD 2010 :: File Recovery After System Crash

Mar 7, 2012

Had a system crash. I had Norton 360 using a slave HD as my automatic backup source. To reinstall windows, master HD was overwritten. I thenfound out Norton 360 didn't save my autocad files to the slave HD. Their definition of "other files" didn't cover dwg files unless you did an extremely detailed setup process, which, was not in the Norton instructions. Anyways, local computer service was able to recover about 60% of the "lost" autocad files.

Of those recovered files, about 60% will not open up. Only get a message "not a valid file" The file details show its an autocad file, its size, and the last date of revison.

Photoshop :: CS6 Is Opening Auto-recovery File Even When Program Had Been Shutdown Properly?

Apr 12, 2013

I have successfully saved my file, shut down Photoshop without incident, and yet upon opening  CS6 it starts opening the latest autorecovery file. I need to have autorecovery on for the work loss protection it provides, but it can get confusing to have an Autorecovery file open instead of the file I had meant to open. ( This is also happening on a colleague's computer.)

I'm running Mac OS X version 10.8.3
2x2.66 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
64 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
 CS6 Version 13.0.4

It's happened several times with a variety of files. They are all Grayscale layered PSB's, in the 1.5 - 3 GB range.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Relative File Location Reference For Point File

So I brought home the DWG as well as the ENZ file thinking that if both were in the same directory, it would work OK. But I get an error saying the Point file can't be found. I can't see any way to make the file reference relative, rather than absolute.

CorelDRAW X4 :: Location Of Keyword Tags

Aug 3, 2011

Where the keyword tags are actually stored in the metadata of a CDR file?  I've got a lot of tagged CDR's, and I'm converting them to JPG's to use in a photogallery.  I'd like to transfer the tags to the jpgs so they are still searchable, but I can't figure out where the tags are stored.  I've tried looking in FileTagSlueth and ExifTool, but neither of them are apparently look in the right place.

If I can find the location, I'm hoping I can find a way to transfer them with EXIFtool.  Barring that, another option might be to modify the FileConvertor macro to retain keywords, but that's beyond my scope.

As an aside, I can't seem to save keywords to CMX files (tried entering them through Document Properties), only to CDR's.  Is this correct?

CorelDRAW X4 :: Preserving Image Size And Location

Jun 9, 2011

I'm a new user of X4. I'm making a project using several transparent layers, with layer 1 set as background image. I then draw several images into the succeeding layers. My template is set at 480x270 pixels.

Is there any way to export my drawings with their original size and location preserved with respect to the background image? The thing is I need to recombine the images in the different layers later on (in a different program and project) and I need them to be in their right sizes and positions as when I created them in order to reconstruct the image accurately.

Illustrator :: How To Set Default File Location In CS5

Feb 26, 2013

I'm using Creative Suite CS5 in Windows Pro 64, and would like to set a default location for files in Illustrator and Photoshop when I execute the File > Open or File > Save commands.

Yes, the program defaults to the location of the last file opened, but sometimes that file is gone, or I'm creating a new one from scratch, and the program looks for files in a distant place in my file structure.

Is it possible to set a default file location for opening and saving in Illustrator CS5 (and in Photoshop CS5)?

The default images for textures and bumpmaps are all found OK just not the IBL files? How I can set the path to these enviroment images?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Add File Location To Project

Feb 10, 2012

I'm working on creating iparts for fasteners.  Initially I had the O.D. of all the fasteners as nominal, which created an issue when using analyze interference.  All hole features are based on the minor diameter, so they are displayed correctly on the .idw.  Nominal fasteners with minor diameter holes means interference.

I am currently referencing the thread.xls spreadsheet, located in the Inventor Design Data folder, within my fastener ipart spreadsheet.  This allows me to maintain a constant connection to the thread.xls file if there are ever changes from Autodesk.

My issue comes about when I am placing the ipart files within assemblies.  I am asked for the location of thread.xls.  Once I re-establish the link, Inventor tells me it's not part of the active project.  BUT, if you look at the Project - Folder Options - Design Data, it is the same location.  So the project does have a link to the folder structure.

Would I have to create a library in each project so the link can be established.

In 2013, I open Workspace/Customize, then swith to the Transfer tab (right sofar?). In the pull down, I choose Open. Now at this point, I think I should just browse for my 2011 CUI file, but for some reason, I can't find it. If I search my C drive, I still can't find it. With 2011 open, in Workspace, the name of the CUI that I use is "Randy", so I'm assuming the file name to search for would be randy.cui.
