Where can I find the default full-color pattern fills in CDX6? I don't see a folder for Patterns in the Corel file in programs. I see a Patterns folder in CDX5 but it doesn't have the default pattern I need. I need to change the color. I noticed that custom made patterns go into My Documents/Core/Vector Patterns.
View 5 RepliesI have a complex (includes tints) clip art object that needs printing in a specific pantone color I just convert it to grayscale using edit>find and replace objects>color mode. then print it as a black plate and just use another color on press.
Today I had to send off artwork to another printer. Dang. How to install a macro. Import clip art to be modified to a new document, do not do this in your working document.
Use Edit>Find and Replace> Find Objects
Replace a color model or palette. Next
Leave as is except change Replace with color model to "Grayscale" Next>Replace all
Repeat 2-4 for 'outlines' if you have them.There you now have a gray scale clipart, but the fun continues!You'll need to know what pantone color you want to use. Let's say Reflex Blue. Make a square and color it Reflex blue from a pantone palette.Duplicate the square and create swatches at 90% 80% 70% etc down to white.Select these square swatches, then Windows>Color Palette>Create Palette from Selection. Save palette with a temporary name, it is only time use. Or you could call it 'Reflex Blue'Now go to this website and download the macro "limit colors" URL...
Drop it in your GMS folder in under your username to install the macro. (might have to save the drawing and restart Corel...)Once you reopen your now grayscale clipart document, Select the clipart. Run the macro (Tools>Macros>Run Macros) LimitColors.Posterize select the number of colors in your new palette if you created 10% swatches, go with 11, if you did steps of 20% then you'll do 6 (don't forget white).Run the macro LimitColors.LimitColors and select your new palette you made in step 9.

how do I remove the X6 preset fountain fill as I will never use these I prefert my own custom set.

X6 becomes very unstable when using fills with vector patterns. There is, for whatever reason, a lower limit for the size of the pattern (1 inch) that is way to high for most textures, so the only way to work around is to calculate the wanted size of the pattern tiles, enlarge the object accordingly, fill it, assign the size with object attribute and renormalize the size of the object. This used to work fine in prior versions, but X6.3 already crashed several times instantly or soon after the procedure at my site. This is not amusing.
Is there maybe another way to get past the silly one inch pattern size limit?

in Corel X6, some spot colors, either pantone,custom or others, after re-opening files, these colors appearas NO NAME, and the object assigned to them appear withno fills?It never happens with RGB or CMYK colors.

At the moment we are having issues with fades not looking good when we print them using the Onyx 10 program. We get magenta lines running though our fades, predominantly when we fade from royal to white. However! when we print using onyx 7 the fades work fine. It is not viable for us to use onyx 7 for all jobs as the colours lose a lot of vibrancy.

why some of these texture fills disappear when outputting to PDF or even converting to Bitmap?
For some reason I am having issues converting a CDR file to PDF which contains objects/text with fountain fills.
I have looked at some previous posts detailing the same problem, have followed their remedies, i.e. "render complex fills as bitmaps" in the advanced tab in the PDF conversion pane. Despite these best efforts I am still having the problem of my black background; fixed in the "page layout" tab being corrupted, resulting in the background being the fountain fill once converted.
I have been unable to find a macro to perform elliptical fills, or for dynamically interactive fractal/"plasma" fills.
It would seem to me, that these could have already been written by any of the experienced macro programmers for CorelDraw. No interest, or are these sort of fills too difficult to programmatically implement through a macro?
If it´s possible to import vector graphic with fountain fills from AI (adobe illustrator) to CorelDraw x6 for further editing.
if i export from AI to eps or ai, and import to x6 the graphic with fountain fills becomes raster, if i export to pdf, the graphic is almost okay, but not as i wish to.
I have purchased some clipart where the artist used Adobe Illustrator and it contained extensive Mesh Fills. The artist sent me the same artwork in pdf & eps but I am unable to open any of them with X5. Apparently it is a function of the mesh fills?

I'm trying to install Epilog Laser drivers on a new Win8 laptop, and somehow I have duplicate copies of the same "printer/laser engraver." I'm starting the driver instalation over, and want to remove the duplicate printers in CorelDraw. I've cleaned out all printers in control panel/devices and printers, as well as print drivers. I am using Coreldraw X5 for printing and sublimation. If I use Pattern or Texture fills for a background, is there any way to make them less intense so the text can more easily be read? I am not sure of the correct terminology, whether it is "fade", "intensity" "transparency" etc. I would just like the fill to be fainter.

But when i try to see it in print preview it only shows my document between 3 1/2 ft. to 4 1/2 ft.
I've a problem to open an old X4-Coreldraw file. The first time I can open it - when I want to save this file CDraw says that the file will be changed to the X6 Version. I say OK and save the file. The 2nd time I'll try to open the X6 file again then the Error occurs! I changed my settings in CDraw to a local dir c: emp, also to a new drive - but nothing happens! All the drives have mor than 400 GB free space! I hope this will be enough.

all the fonts are solid black so I need to know how to hollow them out so the background fill will show, then have to cut out all the letters to get the background around them removed so I have only the letters filled with rainbow that can then be moved around and overlaid like with the gray checkerboard squares thing happening.
Like this: imagine a rainbow backing picture with " I heart Mom" text overlaid, fill the " I heart Mom" with rainbow then get rid of the rest of the rainbow backing that is OUTSIDE the letters. The word heart will be replaced with a heart shape.

This would be useful and seems like a bug. Why would I have to apply the fill to each part of the group? Groups are supposed to be useful for manipulating multiple objects in this way.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am going to be printing some raffle tickets. I need them to be numbered sequentially. I have found out how to do the numbering using the printmerge function.
I am going to be doing 8 up. Seems like the easiest way is to design one ticket, then use the print merge feature, and then use the layout imposition tool. However, I would like to have a light colored watermark behind all the tickets.
To make this simple to understand (hopefully) lets just say I want the word "TICKET" repeated over and over again horizontally and vertically untill it covers the whole page.
Of course if I was going to hand number these I would simply design an 8 up print and then put the TICKET watermark behind it no problem.
I could simply crop the watermark and place it in the single 1 up design, and then use print merge and layout imposition, but then the pattern would be exactly the same on all tickets and I would have to cut them in exactly the right place. Whereas if I did 8 up, I wouldn't have this problem.
I have a patern, I need to move, I know in advanced I can more it with Origin, but I have to close and open the window.
