Is it possible to change a color in a full color pattern without having to create a fresh fill?
I would like to change the pink background in the file attached to green but my guess is I will have to create a new pattern fill with a green background.
Where can I find the default full-color pattern fills in CDX6? I don't see a folder for Patterns in the Corel file in programs. I see a Patterns folder in CDX5 but it doesn't have the default pattern I need. I need to change the color. I noticed that custom made patterns go into My Documents/Core/Vector Patterns.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a complex (includes tints) clip art object that needs printing in a specific pantone color I just convert it to grayscale using edit>find and replace objects>color mode. then print it as a black plate and just use another color on press.
Today I had to send off artwork to another printer. Dang. How to install a macro. Import clip art to be modified to a new document, do not do this in your working document.
Use Edit>Find and Replace> Find Objects
Replace a color model or palette. Next
Leave as is except change Replace with color model to "Grayscale" Next>Replace all
Repeat 2-4 for 'outlines' if you have them.There you now have a gray scale clipart, but the fun continues!You'll need to know what pantone color you want to use. Let's say Reflex Blue. Make a square and color it Reflex blue from a pantone palette.Duplicate the square and create swatches at 90% 80% 70% etc down to white.Select these square swatches, then Windows>Color Palette>Create Palette from Selection. Save palette with a temporary name, it is only time use. Or you could call it 'Reflex Blue'Now go to this website and download the macro "limit colors" URL...
Drop it in your GMS folder in under your username to install the macro. (might have to save the drawing and restart Corel...)Once you reopen your now grayscale clipart document, Select the clipart. Run the macro (Tools>Macros>Run Macros) LimitColors.Posterize select the number of colors in your new palette if you created 10% swatches, go with 11, if you did steps of 20% then you'll do 6 (don't forget white).Run the macro LimitColors.LimitColors and select your new palette you made in step 9.
I have a PSD file open and I added a new layer via the copy command. I have added a Layer Mask to the new layer and I'm trying to use the Brush Tool with black forground to cover part of the new layer. I'm following an online tutorial step by step, but when I try to use the Brush Tool I get "could not use color replacement tool because it only works in full color mode". The Image>Mode is set to RGB.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been working on scenery tiles to serve as ground textures for an X-Plane airport. To get seamless transitions between the tiles I work on four tiles at the time and subsequently copy this large image to four smaller ones. Before I started out I ensured that all images were converted to full color (millions of colors) since they came with a limited 256 color palette in the first place. Still, during some copy and paste operations I've got tiles with a drab hue. So, it evidently takes the palette of the image I paste it unto which would make perfect sense if that palette was limited. However, it shouldn't be!
I've got around the problem by pasting problem tiles unto other images or started from scratch with a white canvas. It seems that any existing palette is limited and will skew the hues of a layer being pasted unto it. I work with *.xcf, then *bmp and finally *png in case this makes a difference. So, does a "full color" *.png still have a limited palette? Further, is there a way to ensure that a selection will retain its hues beyond starting out with a global choice of millions of colors?
I do a lot of presentation site plans with different tree and plant symbols. I need to be able to resize (like using a brush), choose different symbols (or brush/stamp style), and place one, non repeating symbol several times around the drawing.

I've tried with the original image being 600, 300, and 75 resolution, but each time I try to Live Trace it, Illustrator takes a while, erases the artboard, then tells me that there has been an unknown error (also something about not enough memory, though I'm using a really good, new computer). What am I doing wrong? And how can I vectorize this image?
View 2 Replies View RelatedNoticed this when going through my photos tonight. When using the full screen preview in the Manage workspace, a photo will become more magenta after every pass.
Duplicate this by:
1. Double click on an image in the manage workspace to bring up the full screen preview. Take note of the colors.
2. Press the right arrow on your keyboard to advance to the next image.
3. Press the left arrow on the keyboard to return to the original image. Examine the colors...for me it is slightly more magenta. To make this change more obvious switch back and forth between the original and 2nd image. For me, the images become extremely magenta.
I'll include 2 images of one photo....the only difference being that the "magenta" one has gone through the process above 6 times.

We like to show thumbnails of a drawing in a picturebox in a .Net control. It works but the background of Thumbnail is always white even if the real layout background is black. Also it only showing a partial view rather than the view state while last saved.. This makes the user in exactly identifying the drawing in the picture box.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi would like to fill a selection exactly with a defined color (full red). I want everything inside the selection to be full red and everything outside to be untouched but I don't managed to do it.
With the bucket, even in normal mode with opacity 100, "fill whole selection", there are still pixels outside the selections that become half red. With the pencil, same story.

I've been messing around with Live trace for a few days, but every time I try to convert it to Vector, it destroys my gradient, and converts my Pantone to CMYK.
URLs.....What I need to do, is convert to vector while keeping the gradient, and pantone colors in the graphic to prepare for screen printing.Before anyone says "you don't need to use vector for screen printing". We run Corel X4 on our transparency machine, so I need to convert to vector, and keep the halftones fine, as well as keep the pantone color book.It doesn't need to be a "quick" way to do it...it just needs to be done.
Is there a way to apply a color to selected objects without having to search for the color in the color palette. So say if I am working with an image that has multiple colors but want to use only one of the colors in that image, is there a way to apply it without having to create or add it to the palette.
View 3 Replies View RelatedPossible to control (i.e.: set up & check the current value) the drawing scale directly from the command bars, without having to get deep into the Options menu (which is really unpractical and slow).
Actually there is a "Drawing scale" icon, but it allows to choose only among a limited selection of values: if the required drawing scale is outside this range (which happens quite often in my job), there is no alternative from the Options way.Moreover, if the scale is not included into the above-mentioned selection of values, the icon will not show the set scale value, but only a totally useless "Custom" string.
I'm transferring a 1st draft book from a PDF file by copying and pasting text and photos. So far, so good.
During the pasting process, I've selected to maintain fonts and formatting. Despite this, the text gets pasted with only some of the formatting and some correct fonts. But that's easily fixable.
All the text, now in X4, is Left Justified. The author has requested that it be Full Justified (looks better). When I select a paragraph and Full Justify it, the words/lines shrink further to the left. Altering the Spacing from the default 60% to 100% allows it move to the right, but not all the way to the right of the text box.
I've tried hyphenation. Still, there's a limit to how far right the text is allowed to go.Force Justify stretches it all out fine, but the spaces are too big between the words.
I made a new text box and typed in the same content that's in a paragraph of the pasted text. It Fully Justifies perfectly!
So, there seems to be some invisible 'barrier' within the pasted text stopping the Full Justify process from working properly.

If I make a high-res video and then select HD mode on youtube it looks pretty good but then the video stops for prolonged delays. My guess is some sort of background processing going on at youtube.
Will full screen captures and playback on youtube be possible?
I have some text in a paragraph frame that I want it to be in full justify but when I apply it the spaces between the words get messed up, some of them become too small and in some cases the words get so close to each other that you almost can't read the text. Also the words in the last line get also very close to each other and that ruins my design.
I have tried inceasing the kerning but this affects the space between the characters too and I don't want that. What I need is a way to correct manually the spacing between the words. I tried doing so by increasing the word spacing from the "Paragraph Formating" docker but for some reason it doesn't work at all.
When i open artistic text in the Edit Text box it appears as paragraph text., full of symbols. Is there a way to turn this off.?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using InDesign CS5 and Photoshop CS5 and have scanned full color illustrations into Photoshop. I am preparing 7x10 saddle stitch and casebound books with the illustrations which need at a 1/8" bleed area. My problem is the illustrations have key elements right up to the edge of them. I need to add complementary colors to fill in the bleed area around them so I don't lose any of the originals. What is the best way to do this? Also, I need to copy colors from the illustrations and make separate pages of the colors to import into InDesign. What is the best method to do this? The colored pages will be the background with story text on them and reside opposite to the illustrations.

The workspace dock color is grey until I dock an image and then the color surrounding my image changes to black. This is occuring in the Full Edit Mode.

issue#2: I will need to reduce the size of the 11x17 to a 5.6in width 7in height. How do I do this? The reason for the size reduction is because I need it for newspaper printing so I need to make sure to keep my 11x17.

I cannot see the full spectrum of my document size in print preview. I have my document setup as 8ft. X 5 ft.
But when i try to see it in print preview it only shows my document between 3 1/2 ft. to 4 1/2 ft.
