AutoCad :: How To Make Linetype That Automatically Draw Chain
Dec 5, 2011
I am now working for an oil company, nd we do arather a lot of work involving lifting plans with chain hoists etc.
My question is, is there any way of make a linetype that automatically draws chain. At the moment, i have to manually draw a link, and copy and paste with basepoint to the reuired length, and then "block" it. however, when we come to alter these drawings, they are a nightmare to alter all the chain sections.
If there was a way of developing a linetype that automatically made these chains, it would speed things up so much.
In model space I draw a line with a particular linetype, say a fence row, and I adjust the linetype scale so that it reads like I want it, but then when I go to paper space, it's just a plain line no matter what I set the linetype scaling to?
Whenever i draw a new line, hatch etc - Autocad draws the object with a certain lineype. Then after i draw the line i have to manually click the line and set it's linetype to "By layer". It doesn't matter which layer i set as current, it never draws by layer, allways by this other linetype.
Using Cad 10 Architecture - But tried opening the file on other versions aswell, with the same result.
I am attempting to make a roller chain animation. what would be the best method? I have found a fairly good method of creating the chain using array in Inventor then importing it into max as the assembly arrangement needed . Can I just have all of the links follow a path?
I've been trying to make a straight chain and make a curved one. I've tried the warp but it only distorts the links and become out of shape. How i would make it curved like the one in the diagram.
I am doing a project where we should detect center of object and automatically draw lines in all directions example: Lets consider a rectangle, locate center of rectangle and draw lines on all directions.
Issue: Imbeded text in Linetype is automatically orienting the top of the text toward the center of the arc. I have tried to "reverse polyline" to fix this, but the text will not change. Is there a line property that I am missing that will allow the text to orient itself as readable from arc Point of begining to the end?
If my SNAP is turned OFF it automatically turns itself ON when i draw some linework. It keeps doing this in certain 2D only cad files. As a temporary fix i have tried to set my snap spacing to .0001 to keep the crosshairs running smoothly but they still appear excessively jumpy at about 1 unit. This only happens in plotable drawings that contain a certain 2D xref and the offending xref itself. If i unload all the xrefs the problem DISAPPEARS, although this doesn't let me draft any easier!
My OSNAP is working fine although it does reset itself when i have been using certain LISP routines.
FYI, if I open the same drawing on another users computer the SNAP stays off and the crosshairs run smooth.
I work with a drawing that for some reason don't have a proper fence line in it. I tried to load another .lin file, but still the fence line looks funny. The line I'm after looks and work ok in alla other files but this one!
I tried to copy paste a fence line from another drawing but what's pasted is just half the linetype...
The line should look like this -- / ---- / ---- / ---- but comes in as -- ---- ---- ----
I have just made a new linetype but the ends look funny...I can't see why the ends, before and after the slash are different lengths? How to make them more even?
what im trying to do is make my own linetype for specific jobs, ie a number of different lines named different things. so using the acad.lin file i have altered it and reloaded it but all my text doesnt look big enough or too big, i am using different drawings etc so i could be on a 1:100 or 1:50 etc, i would draw a polyline and it would be 70mm thick, the line obviously changes but the text height doesnt
In our work we draw many symmetrical outlines. In many cases, chiefly due to space constraint, we draw only half the outline and use a centerline of the symmetry to dimension the part.
Our current method is to use sketches to achieve this. I wonder if there is a way that we can make this linetype available from the styles? Diagram attached below.
Im trying to make a linetype that is hidden with text in it. Is that possible? Ive got all my linetypes customized with text, but trying to make them on a hidden linetype is tricking me.
I am wondering if it is possible to make a linetype that is essentially two continous lines (Or small dashes lines) overlayed atop one another. The purpose for this is to create a shadow effect (we use this for text on aerial imagery). The bottom line would be a thick white/black line and the top line would be the opposite so it stands out.
see attached block. I would like the current date be present, instead of typing in the date for this block. When I insert "IFC" block, I would like todays date to be inserted automatically. I guess I am asking if you can make smart blocks in autocad 2009? Let me know if I'm not asking this question correctly.
Is there anyway to make 3Ds Max automaticalliy render from certain cameras i specify?
lets sasy i want to render from camera 1, 2 , then 3. And i wont be using my PC for a long time, can 3Ds Max do this alone...like some kind of a render queue??
Application: 3Ds Max 2010 GPU: ATI HD6970 RAM: 8GB OS: Windows 7 64-bit DX: 11
File-> Open is the only way I can open files with 64-bit.When I clicking icons or right click-> Open With they only open with the 32-bit version. (Even though I've set the default program to 64-bit)
I'm able to open 64 bit by shortcut and it runs very well, about 10 times faster loading time and extremely smoothly for everything I do.
Here is my system info:
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 Intel Core i5-3330 @ 3.0 GHz (3.2 Turbo) (2nd Generation i5 processor) 8 GB Ram 1600 Mhz (800 MHz for each 4 GB stick) (1GB shared memory for onboard graphics, 6.94GB useable) Gigabyte GA-B75M-HD3 Motherboard
In CS5 and prior versions of PS, you could "make a straight line of points in a curve". After opening the curve dialog box, draw a straight line with the pencil tool and then click the wavy icon above the pencil tool icon (edit points to modify the curve) and it would automatically place 9 equidistant points on the curve. With CS6, it only places 3 points. Any way to get 9(or at least multiple) points placed?
I just created a wall sweep on a wall , but I noticed the sweep doesn't adjust to the wall profile, please see the second floor wall in the attached image. Is there anyway to make the sweep adjust to the profile of the wall automatically?
At roundabout, chain age at central alignment is connected to main roads alignments as it should be. problem is sometimes it is continuous chain age and some time it shows -ve chain ages and sometimes it starts from 0+000.00. I want it should start from 0+000.00.
I am trying to create a roller chain as part of a cad drawing of a bicyle.
I created a link of the chain (pic attached) and I am following this video to repeat it as a rectangular pattern : [URL]....
However the links are not following the path they're supposed to - I can't attach that file right now.
Anything that I should do different from the video? I have been using inventor for a little while but I've never used the adaptive stetches or the functions thing ot a rectangular pattern that is not in the shape of a rectangle.
