View 2 RepliesI am updating a lot of parts before putting them in a "vault" Is there a way to list the I properties and document settings of all parts and assemblies in a directory rather than opening each part individually. It would be great if I could make edits that way as well. (for example change a status to released or a BOM to purchased.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst: I ordered the Smoke 2013 (floating-)licence through a german reseller a week ago and I still got no answer. Is this a normal "new years eve" delay?
Second: The Smoke installation is on a computer that's OS was actually cloned from another computer. The HostName, LocalHostName and ComputerName were changed, but Backburner still insists in using the "original" name given at the OS-Installation. So if the other "clone-computer" is running, Backburner gets in trouble and is stuck on waiting. During the troubleshooting process I turned on websharing to access [URL] ..... This led to the result, that anytime i restart the machine the computername is changed to 0.0.0.0 and the backburner wount work. No way, yet, to bring this back to normal.
Third: Waiting for the smoke-licence I already begun working on the project. Now it seems that I'll have to do a clean install of the system to get it finally running. But I do not want to loose the work so far. Is there a way to bring the actual project back into an new installation of OS/Smoke without having to archive it which does not work at the moment?
I am opening my project on a different pc than I started the project on. Some elements are missing such as materials, material jpgs and decals. Is there a way I can generate list of my custom elements that I need to somehow transfer to this other pc rather tracking manually. When I transfer my custom materials to the other pc how do I get the element to automatically read the material.
For example, I have kitchen cabinets with a custom paint color. I can transfer the paint material to the other pc but the cabinets don't recognize it automatically. I have to choose the cabinets and re-assign the material even though it is in the material list.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have to set up a project in Navigator so we can get started on it but I will have to go back and change the project number when we get it.
My question is how do I change the project no so that it re paths everything and reorganizes itself numerically in Windows Explorer...or should I just create a new project in Navigator and copy the files I need into the new project?
I do not have vault installed and I am trying to add sub files to my project. As of now my project has to find many of my files and I do not want to copy and past them into my project folder as this will mess with my parts numbering system. I want only one part / assembly file per part. I assume that you can do this with the project dialog box or some other system tool I just can not seem to figure it out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a single lic. copy of AutoCAD 2012 LT on a single PC tied to a network server. Our server crashed and needed to be replaced. When they replaced the server, they gave it a new name so I had to reset all the file paths to the redirected folders for my PC. Now I keep getting an error: cannot create temporary file (then shows the file path to the old server).
I have reset all the file location in the files section of the options box, so I do not understand where AutoCAD is still seeing the old server. Is there somewhere else in the software that I need to change the file paths?
I want to retrieve the Desktop Directory but i found 2 way :
1 : Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.DesktopDirectory)
2 : My.Computer.FileSystem.SpecialDirectories.Desktop
AutoCAD Mechanical, using the <<VANILLA>> variant.
Click open icon. AutoCAD pops up the file open dialog box, in the wrong directory. I select the directory where my files are and open a file.
Then I click the open icon again. AutoCAD pops up the file open dialog box in the same wrong directory. I have to change directories every time I open a file. Yes, I have the directory I want set in the places. But that's never been how AutoCAD works.

I start up LT2009 and it goes to 'My Documents' I change to the relevant directory and then attach an image.
Immediately after that I press return to do the command again and it opens up a totally different directory.
When I open up AutoCAD 2013 I get the following msg.
"The Modules Program Directroy does not exist. May need to reinstall"
What is the MPD and how does one reinstall it? My AutoCAD 2013 is part of the Product Design Suite Professional. I did go to the Control Panel and ran the Repair function of Mechanical Desktop, Inventor and a couple of other things but that didn't fix the problem.
We have many directories, each with many drawings and each drawing has either one or many custom entries in its properties (File > Drawing Utilities > Drawing Properties.) I want to remove all the custom properties and it looks like the PROPULATE command should do this...but it doesn't work on a directory. It does work nicely on the current drawing but like i said, there are many drawings in several directories.
Is there any ~working~ way to remove all custom properties from all drawings in a particular directory?
I am trying to use this code to take the flat pattern and save it to a specified directory ("X:Burn Files" ) but I can't get the path to work. I can save the file just fine but not where I would like it to go.

I am making some iLogic automated parts which I want to save when I place them in an assembly.
Now I have the folder the file needs to be saved in allready specified in the simple code I wrote but I want to be able to browse the folders to select a specific one.
I run the code by activating it in a Form that pops up when you place the part in an assembly.
The simple save as code I wrote is as following:
Workspace = ThisDoc.WorkspacePath()If System.IO.File.Exists(Workspace & "Parts" & "Cable Tray-" & Partnumber & ".ipt") = True Theni = MessageBox.Show("The partnumber you chose is allready in use, choose an other number.", "Save Error", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Hand, MessageBoxDefaultButton.Button1)Else If System.IO.File.Exists(Workspace & "Parts" & "Cable Tray-" & Partnumber & ".ipt") = False ThenThisDoc.Document.SaveAs(Workspace & "Parts" & "Cable Tray-" & Partnumber & ".ipt", False)End If
How I can browse the folders to select the folder to save the part in when placing the part?
When trying to install autocad 2010 civil 3D, I cannot get past the initial select products to install page without getting a bunch of errors as detailed below:
Error 1327. Invalid Drive C:
Then;
Fatal error during installation.
#7560: failed to run AdskExecuteSequence
and finally;
Failed to initialise AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010
This is because when I installed windows, it assigned the letter H to the system drive (where Windows is installed) and as a result, there is no C drive in the system.
This has not been an issue for any programs installed to date, but is causing me grief when trying to install AutoCAD Civil 3D. 2010
Any way of changing the autocad code or settings around so that it will install to the H drive (or I can decide where it should install)?
Each time I go to insert a raster image it opens to a directory which has no files stored in it.
I do have a handful of directories that have my image files stored, and I have gone into Options>Files>storage paths>.... and set them per specs.
Is there a way to change the default directory that the dialogue box opens, when I select- Insert>Raster Image ?
I've also gone through all the options under the Option>File tab, and likewise don't see where it'd be set. I even clicked all the plus signs, down to their respective directories, and none of them match.
Is there a way to limit the folder directory to only the last few directories?
Example:
If I have the file here,
C:folder1folder2folder3...folder10file.dwg
And I only need to know this,
folder9folder10file.dwg
Some of my files exist in folder directories that extend off the sheet within the plotstamp printing single line and I would like to shorten them to only show the last few directories as all the ones before are exactly the same. I do not want to change the plotstamp to multiline and I can not move the files to other directories as this is just how our system is set up.
When I start up my AutoCad 2013 I get the followiing message -
"Module Program Directory does not exist> May need to reinstall" What is the MPD and how does one reinstall it? The program seems to be running OK but that msg. is a bit distrubing.
The 2013 is part of the Product Design Suite Professional and is running on a Lenovo S-30/Win 7 Pro.
Having trouble plotting a dwg file when it is deeper than 5 folders in a directory. I was given instructions a few years ago on how to correct this, but unfortunately lost/forgot them. We just upgraded to ACAD Mechanical 2012, and I need to modify this setting again...it was something simple, I just can't remember.

Years ago, I seem to remember how to set this starting directory, I just can't find that now.
Is there a way to sent print to a selected printer by choosing multiple dwg files thru Folder directory without opening autocad? For example if I want to print 12.dwg, 13.dwg, 14.dwg and 15.dwg by just choosing these dwg files on my directory.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've built a project up with several smaller project file components. It's an easier way to create a video than editing one big project.
Opening the overall project and running it on screen is not a problem. However, when I try to create a smart package of the composite project, I get a consistent error message rejecting the process because of the existence of the component vsp's.
Is there a way to avoid the error and create a smart package from a project file that has smaller component project files?
