AutoCad :: Plotting DWG File When It Is Deeper Than 5 Folders In Directory?
Sep 12, 2012
Having trouble plotting a dwg file when it is deeper than 5 folders in a directory. I was given instructions a few years ago on how to correct this, but unfortunately lost/forgot them. We just upgraded to ACAD Mechanical 2012, and I need to modify this setting again...it was something simple, I just can't remember.
Having trouble with my lisp routine to read from a directory which includes several folders. There is no problem when the files are all mixed in the directory but when dealing with hundreds of files, it makes sense to organize files by types.
Using (ade_aliasadd "BASE" "S:\") and there is no problems when the files are actually there and not in a subfolder called APN_DWG or EAS_DWG. Should I be setting up the environment differently and if so how?
1) Is it possible to add a pull down menu in a prompted sketched symbol to select predetermined values instead of typing them ourselves? I would like for the symbol to behavior to be similar to a cad dynamic block.
2) I'm looking to know if we can add simple rules in prompted entries? What I wish to accomplish is to have a default value that fits our need 80% of the time and for exceptions we can write in a different value when prompted. I know we can edit text after inserting symbols but we are rushed quite often and manual editing can be forgotten.
I am trying to use this code to take the flat pattern and save it to a specified directory ("X:Burn Files" ) but I can't get the path to work. I can save the file just fine but not where I would like it to go.
Public Sub WriteSheetMetalDWG() ' Get the active document. This assumes it is a part document. Dim oDoc As PartDocument Set oDoc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument Dim oCompDef As SheetMetalComponentDefinition
How to set cute pdf to always auto print in same directory as source file. Also use source file name except with .pdf extension. I would like to add a macro to my save button so it does this automatically and never have to convert again. This would also be useful for dwf format also. Disk drives are massive now so no need to save space.
Autocad is saving files to the Temp folder. I like to keep that folder nice and clean. My question is: which file location in the options dialog box that controls that issue?
As an engineering company we have started to convert hundreds of our drawings from AutoCAD to PDF using a batch utility.
However every file that is converted into a PDF file is opened by a PDF Viewer. We want to prevent this.
I opened my *.pc3 file and removed the check from the appropriate box. See below
I press OK, then save the file and close. However when I reopen the file, I see the box for Openining in PDF Viewer has been rechecked. No matter what I do, I cannot permanently remove the check from this box.
Is there a program that can rename a new file to match another file name (They are in 2 different folders)
What I have is hundreds of PDF files and I have to rename each of them to match the name of an existing file in another folder. Retyping the names is killing me. I hope to find a program to click on one to match another.
every time when I want to open a file, Illustrator keeps showing the same directory (for example HD Macintosh/workfolder).
Normally Illustrator would show the last directory I used. For that matter, Illustrator also does this when I want to save an Illustrator file. It's a bit annoying when I have several documents I want to save into the same directory or folder and I have to click to the right directory for every document I made, because normally Illustrator shows up the last directory I used.
I use Illustrator CS5.5 on an Imac running iOS 10.8.2.The second problem I have (with Illustrator as well as InDesign) is that after my iMac hasn't been used for a while and it goes to sleep, after waking up, both Illustrator and InDesign crashed. This problem doesn't occur every time, but every now and then.
I'm doing an architectural plan in Autocad 2010, what I did is that I draw all my plans on a single .dwg file. Now my question is how can I print/plot one of those plans, with my template on and the plan is scaled?
I have AutoCAD 2007 on my machine.I have made a dll using AutoCAD.NET API which does the task of plotting a DWG harness drawing to a pdf file.I specify the device name and the page size to be plotted in a AutoCAD.NET method SetPlotConfigurationName(ps,"DWG To PDF.pc3",papersize).It works fine as long as I keep on giving default paper sizes. But, when I create a custom paper size using the plot configuration editor which in turn produces a new .pc3 file and when I include the same as the device name in the above mentioned method,it does not work.It throws an exception as eInvalidInput.
I am on a 64 bit Windows 7 HP computer with AutoCAD 2010, and I am having a problem plotting a long (24" X 190") drawing file. We have a RICOH Aficio MP W3600 PS plotter. I have gone through the proper procedure through the Plotter Manager all the way to Select Custom Paper Sizes but the Add button is grayed out and I can't add a new user size. I was able to do this with AutoCAD 2004 on a Windows XP system but can't on this setup.
I have problems printing successfully the raster embedded images within a dwg file using the xerox 6279 accxes controller plotter. I use the 6279 hpgl/2 v 15.0.5 driver but when the file is longer than 1 meter long i lose the embedded images or are misplaced anywere in the drawing. I have also the same problem using other similar files with embedded ratser images
I brought a shp file of dots representing grinder pumps into my drawing, All the dots show up just fine ovewr the aerial photo on my screen, but when plotted, the dots are absent.
I have a problem regarding plotting high quality tiff files from cad. I need to plot a high quality tiff file (300dpi) from my drawing, but I have no understanding of how I could go about doing this. The tifout command does not produce high enough quality images.
why content center creates duplicates of existing folders?. Some of the folders have 6 or 8 versions and there is also a duplicate EN-US folder within the EN-US folder with nested folders. So bottom line i have multiple locations and nested files within the content center. Needless to say there is a lot of time spent pointing inventor to the parts necessary to open an assembly.
We are working on a network and are all pointing to the same content center location. We are all using the same project files. Sometimes it works as you would expect, other times not.

I've tried this on three different machines now, definitely seems to be a bug. We are creating these on the X drive or Autodesk 360, do n't know if it does with any file folder, but guessing it probably does since the sync is an external process.

I'm attempting to plot a drawing with a 3d shape and a title block around it. I would like for the occluded lines to not be drawn therefore I'm using the hidden visual style and set shade plot to hidden as well.
My problem arises from the quality of the plot to PDF versus the quality coming out of a printer. It is just a 8.5x11 page. The pdf comes out with horrible anti-aliasing and jagged lines, whereas the print is entirely smooth. Is there something simple I'm missing? It would be even better to find a way to make the plot to PDF come out in vector format! I know it is possible to show the layers and have them vectorized in a PDF... How is this done?
Is it possible set a Default Folder for all "Save As" to be saved in?
I find that an edit of a photo will automatically save in the folder that I opened the shot from. If I had made a copy of the shot, the copy will save in a different folder.
Ideally, ANY AND ALL (originals and copies) "Save As" should be save in "c:Working" by default without having to go through the hassle of navigating there.
I am running CS3 under Vista (4 gig ram) on one machine and XP (3 gig ram) on another.
I had two 2013 folders, each with about 100 daily folders. The dates were differnt in each annual folder. I dragged one into the other. The folder where the daily folder was dragged from is now empty but those folders do not appear in the recieving folder. All the photos are still in the catalog, but do not show in the folders (left side panel).
I renamed a lot of my photo folders in Explore. Now in LR4, all these folders appears with an ?. I can't work on pictures from these folders - I get the message: File named xxx is offline or missing. It does not sync the parent folder. Nor does it sync the folder it self. If I right clik on a LR4 folder with a ?, and try to locate the folder, I only get the option to merge the identical folders. Is there any way to sort this. I can't restore the old folder names.
I'm Testing77. I'm a graphic designer for screen printing, formerly a screen printer, and I work primarily in CorelDrawx5. I work on a MacbookPro, where I run Parallels and then XP in order to operate the windows-only program on my MBP.
I'm posting to publicize an error I've been running into as far as saving cdr files goes. Again, I run x5 through parallels, and there a grey area between what characters you can use in file names on Mac as opposed to Windows. I can use a "/" on a mac file name, and not on windows for example. In any event, I get a 'save drawing' error saying the file name is invalid in certain folders. I have a 'corel files' folder that contains primarily registration mark template files, a folder for my companies files, 10-15 folders for my most-frequent clients, and a "Misc" folder that contains subfolders for less-frequent clients. I tend to get the error message in the subfolders of the Misc folder. The message does pop up in other folders.
Technical side: Instead of simply saving to c:/documents and settings/~username/my documents/corel files/~my clients files/FILENAME.cdr I have to go through a "Z:/" drive (what windows thinks the mac is) so the directory I actually save to looks like this: \psfHomeDocumentscorel files/~my clients files/FILENAME.cdr. Effectively directly linking the "Documents" folder in Mac to the My Documents folder on windows.
For example, let's say I have a file on a hard drive labeled 2012. Inside that file there are three folders with photos and they are labeled Phoenix, Seattle, Portland. Is there a way to Import these folders at one time and keep the names, or will they all come into Lightroom only as 2012?
Is there a way to have the organizer folders set up the same was as Windows Explorer? I have a main folder called Family with sub folders for all the years and in each of the subfolders there could be other subfolders. It wouldn't allow me to click on main folder and get all sub folders. I had to open main folder and then it shows all folders and sub folders separately. They are no longer nested.
Along the same lines, I wanted to create an album of Family with all subfolders, but that doesn't work.that is definitely a short coming which is why I never have used the organizer program, but just PSE for editing.
