Now when I have newer version I can't figure out how to add new textures to autocad for 2D drawing. All tuts and tips I can find on net are for for new materials in 3D? Also how do I add new texture as .jpg file?

I have two drawings A and B. I work in A and I need some design elements from B.
When I open the drawing B everything I have in drawing A disappeared. I refer to all elements of design (blocks, lines, polylines, etc.).
After studying the issue have concluded that the design of all elements were automatically isolated. Right click> Isolate> End Object Isolation and everything reappears in drawing A.
I mention that I installed Autocad Map 3D 2012 x64 on Windows 7 x64 and work in Map Classic Workspace using the same coordinate system in both drawings.
I'm looking to recreate the texture of this floor plan and its surroundings. I've had a few attempts at applying the texture through 'Pattern Overlay', though i'm not sure which blend mode to use? Or altogether if there's another way to achieve the texture? The aim is for it to be very light so it doesn't detract from the main plan of the building.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a mixed environment where I have some users are opening .dwg files with DWG TrueView 2011 and others with AutoCad LT 2012. I am able to open the file immediately with DWG TrueView 2011, but with AutoCad LT 2012 they display an error message of "Drawing File Not Valid". In order to view the file I need to go into File>Open> Choose the file located on a mapped drive and select "Open Read-Only". Is there a way this can be changed where I can automatically open files as read only? I have changed the permissions to the share to allow full control to a particular user for testing purposes and it appears that the files are not in read only when examining the properties of it.

They would all be linked to the same model and would update if the model was altered, but I need only one master drawing whose annotations can be altered. The copies would be read-only, and would be updated when the master changes. Does Inventor have a function like this that links a drawing to its copies?

I need to automate this such that the user enters numbers and letters from drop menus, (part number is alpha-numeric, each representing voltage, horsepower, motor count, etc,) and have the drawing set created. Reading up on this, I know I still could use VBA, but as that is going to fade into non-existence soon, replaced by .net, I would love to go ahead and create it using .net. I really know nothing about it, but need to learn. I can find lots of books on visual studio, but somehow I need to know how to interface it with ACAD at the same time!

I´ve been using eTransmit command in previous versions, now that I´ve switched to v2012 there´s no longer support to save all dwg xrefs as dwg references in the eTransmit popup window. My dwg xrefs are instead attached as blocks.

I'm having a problem with sketches not appearing on drawings in Inventor 2012. This is for a product line made using iparts and iassemblies, and affects approximately 150 drawings.
These sketches were made in Inventor R11, and are attached to part features in the drawing view. When opening these drawings in 2012, the dimensions that were attached to the sketch are still visible, (albeit in the wrong places and on the wrong features), but the sketch itself is not. The sketch still exists as an item under the view, but the actual contents of the sketch (lines and hatching) are gone.
The assembly consists of three identical cylindrical parts with mitred ends welded together in two operations to form a T-shaped part. I have a view representation for each operation. The drawing has each view on one page.
The first step requires welding the two parts together to form an "L" shape, and then cutting off a portion of the corner of the "L" to facilitiate joining the third part in the second operation. In my assembly, I mated the two cylindrical parts together, then created a sketch and using geometry projected from the parts, defined the area of material removal at the corner and extruded the feature. Then, I mated the third part.
However, since I cannot turn off the extrusion when defining a view representation, I needed to redraw the corner I removed so it reflected reality when showing this first phase on the drawing,. I accomplished this using a sketch on the view in the .idw, again using geometry projected from the part. This worked out excellently in Inventor R11. Not only was I able to show the missing part, but because this was an iassembly made from iparts, I could use the same drawing for differnet sizes by "saving as..." and then selecting a diffenent Assembly State on the Model State tab of the Drawing View Dialog Box. The views would update, and so would my sketch, since it was defined by the geometry of the part.
So we continued on this way, and now that we've moved to 2012, none of these sketches appear anymore. We're faced with having to redo this work on every drawing that we've created for this part -- about 150 or so.
In the past (using Autocad 2007), I could copy my AutoCAD drawing and paste it into a sketch in Solidworks. Since my company updated to AutoCAD 2013, I can't seem to paste anything into the Solidworks sketch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot edit a dimension that I add to a drawing, IV simply ignores my request when I select Edit from the shortcut menu. This is not a retrieved dimension. My only workaround has been to edit the dimension properties in the part file to display as I would like on the drawings.
I've checked the application options, under Drawing tab, I do have "Edit dimension when created" checked, yet IV does not display the edit dialogue box upon initial creation of the dimension.
Just got the upgrade from 2012 to 2013 AutoCAD. When I opened the file from 2012 to 2013 for editing, my sub-xref file become "Unreferenced". The main Xref is loaded and fine. I tried to reload it but it doesn't work, and only its text path that are shown in there. It seems that the sub-xref file is in the right path when I trying to verify it location. So, what I did was use my old 2010 Autocad to finish my task which work fine. Why my sub-xref is in "unreference"condition using 2013 AutoCAD.?

Ideally the code will make the color Red, but change to Black prior to printing.
The "logic" behind the code currently is to differentiate a layer called "Burn" to a highly visible color for the purpose of review by others then, prior to printing, change the color to Black. The firm I'm currently working for uses gray-scale B sided printers only. The firm currently uses Blue for dimension and extension lines so to produce drawings that portray both type of objects "lightly".

What I want is, I want to generate some (around 6-8) texture files within the original texture file - so the colors of all the texture files remain same but only the texture varies.Likewise there are more than 500 texture files and I just can't do them manually. Is there any way out to do this in Photoshop?

Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?

1. I added the references Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop and Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common to the Visual Basic Project. That's OK.
2. I wrote this in the heading of the form's
