I have a problem drawing text in a complete circle in AutoCAD (version 2012), I used "Arctext" but the letters don't seem to stay at a even space between them... it's not a very good end result :

When you click on a point in 2011 (at least my setup), there is a little green circle that pops up that I can click on and rotate the point around. In 2012, I have to click on the point, then right click on it, then select rotate label, only then can I rotate the thing.

pdf drawings are king at our company. When we creat a product, pdfs (and sometimes stp files) are generated and placed in folders organized numerically by part number.
Our challenge is that finding all the current pdfs for an assembly is not automated. Thus, to get all the current drawing pdfs, someone has to open up the top level pdf, read all the part numbers, go get/print the pdfs of the parts, subassemblies, subassembly parts, etc. This is time consuming and error prone and getting worse as the number of parts we always increasing.
I'd like to automate the process. I'm thinking about a program/script that: Extract parts list from pdf of Inventor assembly drawingCopy pdf of individual parts/subassemblies to a directoryMerge all pdf for that assembly into single pdf.

I have two drawings A and B. I work in A and I need some design elements from B.
When I open the drawing B everything I have in drawing A disappeared. I refer to all elements of design (blocks, lines, polylines, etc.).
After studying the issue have concluded that the design of all elements were automatically isolated. Right click> Isolate> End Object Isolation and everything reappears in drawing A.
I mention that I installed Autocad Map 3D 2012 x64 on Windows 7 x64 and work in Map Classic Workspace using the same coordinate system in both drawings.
I accidentally inked some of my drawing onto the template layer and i can't seem to separate the paths from the complete drawing/template - any clues on how to shift these paths to the correct layer? It was a very detailed piece of tracing
I didn't think one could ink on a template layer!!!
What is the method for drawing a circle on the z axis? Ex: I have a cube and I want to make some circles on the vertical sides.

I am currently trying to cut out a word from another word in Illustrator. I have managed to do this several times before but both options I have used in the past simply are not working for me today.
As you can see from the attached image, I have 'cut out' the word 'I'm' from the word 'hungry'. (You can see straight through to what ever colour, fabric etc is underneath the logo).
Today I am trying to update my logo and the usual methods aren't working for me.
1. Type > Create Outlines > Divide
2. Object >Compound Path > Make
Usually I can simply delete the 'cut out' text from the image but I keep receiving an error messages that I don't understand.
1. "The filter cannot complete because more than one object is selected"
2. "Can't make a compound path. All objects in a compound path must be paths, and they cannot be brushed or part of an object."
I am a complete novice and I have never encountered these errors before. What used to be a simple 3 step cut out command is now a nightmare. I must be doing something wrong, maybe I have missed a step and not realised?
Now, with that task simplified, I'm not sure how to change the color of the text created using this tool.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to circle one of the letters and each will receive a number sequence afterwards for the comm addresses (is what I want to do anyway). This is a gov project so I have to ensure everything is addressed properly.
Circling the prefix would make this look ideal but I don't know if there's a way to do it. I tried looking but couldn't find a way to do it.
The only way I could think to do it is do it manually with attdef and create a defined block with the prefix area already circled.

I follow the tutorial in the Xara Help, but cannot get the results shown. I draw the circle, compose the text, and set it to the middle Select both circle and text Arrange/Fit Text to Curve....the text appears around the lower, right side of the cirle After all this I am unable to manipulate the text (It's a piece of cake to do this in Publisher 2010, but it has some minor problems in appearance)
Anyone know how to draw the circle as the attached picture in GIMP ?

I am able to open the file immediately with DWG TrueView 2011, but with AutoCad LT 2012 they display an error message of "Drawing File Not Valid". In order to view the file I need to go into File>Open> Choose the file located on a mapped drive and select "Open Read-Only". Is there a way this can be changed where I can automatically open files as read only? I have changed the permissions to the share to allow full control to a particular user for testing purposes and it appears that the files are not in read only when examining the properties of it.

I´ve been using eTransmit command in previous versions, now that I´ve switched to v2012 there´s no longer support to save all dwg xrefs as dwg references in the eTransmit popup window. My dwg xrefs are instead attached as blocks.
