AutoCad 3D :: Extrusion That Ends On Tapered Surface With Different Angle
May 2, 2013I'm trying to make an extrusion that ends on a tapered surface which has different angle in drawing.

View 6 RepliesI'm trying to match the style of an illustration done by someone outside my company; all the lines taper at both the ends like an actual brush stroke, but when I used the brush tools I have to change the angle to get the tapered look - is there a trick to this? It's not efficient to have to stop and change the angle of the tool for every stroke -

Is it possible to get a lisp which ask für 1 point on the first surface, 1 point on the other surface and two points on the line between the 2 surfaces? So the lisp know 3 points of each surface and can give out the angle between... Should be allways between 0-180°
So it needs only 4 klicks to get a angle! That would be so great! Is there a lisp programmer who can make this possible?
What is the best way to create a workplane at a given angle on the surface of the tube. Imagine the workplane long and thin running along the surface of the tube. The angle will be a parameter (from a sketch or user).
I'd like the workplane to always be on the surface of the tube, even when the diameter of the tube (from a dimension in a sketch) changes.I'm thinking that a (angled) line in the same sketch as the two circles (which define the tube diameter and thickness) would be a good starting point.
To create realistic threads, I simply sweep the thread profile along a helix with Align set to “no”. (This actually creates the negative of the thread, which must then be subtracted from a cylinder.)
When I attempt to follow the same procedure using a conical helix to produce tapered pipe threads, however, it does not work. When I set Align to “no”, I get an error message saying “cannot sweep the profile”. If I try it with Align set to “yes”, the profile is twisted and the result does not look like threads.
Any way around this issue, or is this a fundamental limitation of AutoCAD?
I made a coil with taper. Now I want to make a drawing with that taper, but I don't know how to do that.

My problem is that it is going on a bench that i have made and the corner piece needs to be cut out and i am trying to figure how to make this line look like an actual piece. I can extrude the piece to 21 inches tall, but then i need it tapered back to fit this bench were making.

I was using 2007 and I had an add on command the would rotate an object using a base point and picking the two lines that make up the angle, and it would match the angle you wanted. I can not get that command to load in 2011.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a property line that is N 36d19'52" E but needs to be N 12d52'18" E. The obvious and calculated rotation angle would be 23d27'34" but when I rotate the line by the calculated angle it doesn't rotate to the right angle. It's off by 0d11'10"!? When I draw a line by bearing at N12d52'18" E and inquiry the angle between the property line and the drawn line the angle difference is in fact 23d27'34".

Can that also be done in an assembly?
In one assembly I want to make one angle half of a driven angle.
I have a section view of tapered part and I want to get the dimension (radius) but it is not possible. Is there any other option aside from having a perpendicular section view? How to customize the 2D drawing setting?
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow to convert "real world" angles of elliptical arcs into those shown in a dxf file?
Say that I have drawn an elliptical arc with its start angle on 210 degrees and an end angle of 324 degrees. The values in a DXF file, for an elliptical arc, have something to do with the contant "PI" (3.14159). I know that a full circle is 2*Pi but how to do this with elliptical arcs!!
I have cs5 photoshop and it seems to have a very limited amount of brush styles. Other people with cs5 have a large range of standard styles. I am just after the standard tapered end brush (tapered on both ends).

I trace a lot of maps and site plans.
I cant seem to get the tapered effect to occur when stroking a path. I strok the path after selecting the brush tool.
Choose Brush and make sure there is a tick next to Simulate Pressure. This is important as it will give your curve tapered ends which will make it rock!
I know there are many ways to create light beams or God beams. There are several tutorials and net has many brushes.I just want to make a simple tapered brush in Photoshop CS6 so that If I click at a source like window then shift click at another place I get a 'tapered' beam, smaller at origin and flaring to larger size, like a flashlight beam
it should be easy with shape dynamics and all, but I am not able to figure this out.
I have just made a new linetype but the ends look funny...I can't see why the ends, before and after the slash are different lengths? How to make them more even?

How to have success using the modify sub-elements tool for Roofs? The Wiki help shows rectangles and squares, not every roof has that shape.
I've been playing around with the pen tool and i was wondering whether there was a way of altering the brush dynamics so that when i stroke the path it produces a tapered effect i.e. so that the path starts as a point, grows thicker towards the middle, then tapers back to a point?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the design accelerator to create a shaft with multiple features. Works well. This shaft is 90"+ in length and although I realize we create in full scale, having it display into my drawing in full scale is unnecessary because one diameter is nearly 60" long. As such I would like to shorten it by using a shaft end, but cannot figure how to do it.
Just to be clear, by shaft end (term used in Mechanical) I refer to the squiggly lines that basically fudge the OAL of a component.

Is it possible to draw a line with fixed ends. I want to draw a line, representing a pipe, which connects two tanks. Whenever I move one of the tanks I'd like the line automatically to adjust its coresponding end in such a way that the line aways will start from the one tank and end on the other. Is it possible that?
Another question, is there some option, such that whenever two line cross each other, one of the line automatically to go over the other. By this I want to show on the drawing that the two lines are not connected. Something like the following "sketch"
