AutoCAD Inventor :: Make One Angle Half Of A Driven Angle
May 26, 2013I have used a driven contraint in a sketch.
Can that also be done in an assembly?
In one assembly I want to make one angle half of a driven angle.

I am trying to make a cut on a 12" D cylinder at a 45 degree angle and i am having a little trouble. I have projected the shape onto the curve and sketched it. Now to finish the cut do i need to scuplt that path or how do I go about doing this.
I provided a screen print to try and and explain it a little batter. The half moon looking sketch is what i am tring to cut out of the cylinder. i have already projected the surface lines on the cylinder, but get stuck at this point
Im drawing in isometric view and want to change the default drawing angle from 30 degrees to another angle.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a quick way to rotate an object to match an angle without knowing what the angle is? I am using AutoCAD 2011 now. I was using 2007 and I had an add on command the would rotate an object using a base point and picking the two lines that make up the angle, and it would match the angle you wanted. I can not get that command to load in 2011.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a property line that is N 36d19'52" E but needs to be N 12d52'18" E. The obvious and calculated rotation angle would be 23d27'34" but when I rotate the line by the calculated angle it doesn't rotate to the right angle. It's off by 0d11'10"!? When I draw a line by bearing at N12d52'18" E and inquiry the angle between the property line and the drawn line the angle difference is in fact 23d27'34".

Say that I have drawn an elliptical arc with its start angle on 210 degrees and an end angle of 324 degrees. The values in a DXF file, for an elliptical arc, have something to do with the contant "PI" (3.14159). I know that a full circle is 2*Pi but how to do this with elliptical arcs!!
Is there a shortcut to draw a 45 or 90 degree angle from a drawn line on an angle using the pen tool? ie. Rather than just from the x and y axis.
I trace a lot of maps and site plans.
I am currently using 2010 version of AutoCAD and I am having difficulties sorting out my angles.
I need to make a line of 25 at an angle of 150 degrees. Upon doing this it always goes the wrong direction to which I want the line to be facing.
I would like to draw a smiple line using the transparent command 'AD (angle-distance).
My distance is not horz., so I want to enter the Vertial angle and the slope-distance, in LLD the command was AD VD.
So how do you do this in Civil 3D 2012.

Is there a quick way of selecting those top 2 points and auto extending them to complete the triangle? If I use Object>Path>Average my 2 points move to join in the middle, they don't extend up along the same trajectory to join.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Mtext quite a bit and I am trying to convince others in the office that it's a good thing (versus single line text in long paragraphs). One of their concerns in the shape of the Mtext. For instance, when you use Mtext, you type into a nice rectangle that you can change the size of. What they have to do on occassion is instead of having a nice rectangle of text, they have to make it like a triangle. So in this case, single line text can be adjusted so that the end of the sentences make an angle.
Is there a way to do this using mtext? Or is there an lsp that will work?
Maybe I've just been doing it wrong for the last 5 years, but the Angle constraint is obnoxiously unpredictable. When I constrain a part in an assembly with an angle constraint from the assembly origin plane (or anything else), Inventor always has two solutions; a positive and negative.
Is there something I'm missing here, or is just a design flaw we have to live with?
Is there any way to create the angle dimension shown in the attachment without creating a small line in a sketch first?

There is no command prompt like I've seen in so many examples etc.
Imagine I create a line in a sketch angled at 12 degrees (above the x axis) . Then I create another line in the sketch angled at 12 degrees (below the x axis)
When I list the parameters programatically both give me a value in radians of +12 degrees.
So where is the specification of the angle direction stored? As a user I cannot input a negative angle, but I can see that it is negative. But how does a program know the true value of an angular parameter? Currently I get +12 for both lines.
easier way to program 45 degree corners on the top flange of two mating parts. We can't bend the ends on so they have to be welded. I am using inventor 2014 professional. Almost all my programming is done in sheet metal.

I am trying to add an angle constraint to an assembly of a ladder design. I need for the ladder to be able to be set at an angle against a wall and not vertical. The ladder design is such that the base brackets are fixed to the ground and the rest of the ladder may move about the axis of the bolted connection at the base of the ladder. I cannot get the angle constraint on the ladder to allow this.

Unfortunately, Inventor (I use Inventor 2013) does not offer this property by default in parts list settimgs. There are mass, file name, designer, project, status, vendor etc) but nothing about cut angles...!
P.S. I add JPG file with example that I need to get.
