AutoCad 3D :: Tiny Faces Appear Through Union Of 2 Presumably Same Length Objects

I have created an object and unioned it with another object of what i assumed was the same length.

These nasty lines appeared and as i zoomed in an unwanted face appeared.

I have tried solid edit and delete face but it says gap cannot be filled. There is another unwanted face i am assuming on the other side but the gap is so small my computer always freezes and slows down before i can get in that close to examine it.

Illustrator :: Manage Large Picture With Many Tiny Objects?

The picture in question is a mosaic made up of thousands of tiny shapes in Illustrator. It is about 28 in x 48 in but there is white space around the image. I am less than a quarter way through, and I am noticing that Ai is starting to be slow when refreshing the screen e.g. when changing zoom. The file is 13MB. I am concerned that the image will be too large for Ai to handle efficiently. Need to break the image down into quarters and put them together right at the end, or do you think Ai will cope with the size and complexity efficiently? If I have to make separate sections, is there a useful technique to use?

i'm trying to learn about AutoCAD, today i was trying to create a Glass cup, i've created it with REVSURF, at my first try it got square with only SIX faces, so after some seraching, i was told to set "SURTFTAB1" and "SURFTAB2" to a higher number like 18, so i configured them to 36... After that, the cup was looking pretty good and round, but then, i rendered it, at the highest quality "Presentation". But the cup continues to show the flat little faces, i would like to know if it's normal or am i doing something wrong? maybe i should do it with a circle and then press/pull it with a smaller circle on the top?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Prevent 3D Faces Objects When Exploding An Alignment Tangent Label

I received a drawing where I have to add Bearings to an alignment and Right-of-Way lines. I have a Line Label Style that it works for that purpose. These new bearings are "Alignment Tangent Labels" and we need them to be "MTexts"

Select & explode once, and you get "Block Reference"

Select & explode again, and you get "MText"

Once that is done, unfortunatly, I get "3D Faces" objects in the background. Invisible on the drawing, but visible on paper once we plot them. The only way to remove them is by selecting around the new MText until I click on one, then, right-click, Select simnilar, Delete!

Is there any way to prevent that to speed up the process???

Maya Modeling :: Can't Select Polygon Objects Or Faces Properly

i'm having a lot of troubles with a free rig i downloaded at creativecrash [URL]. I'll keep it short as i have quite a lot of things to explain: I animated my shot, and everything was ok. Now i have to shade/light/render my shot using vray, trying to create brand new vray materials; I started from my robot-character. Here comes the problems: - I can't select the polygon geometry(i asked the rigger, and he said the geometry were imported as references at rigging time). There are no geometry layers in reference or template, then there must be somthing else causing me the problem. I can access to the object via hypershade, i can click on the shape node and i can see the geometry selected, but then, when i try to access faces, i can't select them!in no way. This means i can't create selections for materials, and so i can't shade as i liked. I tried to selecte faces using the select by materials feature in the hypershade (as the character has some pre created basic materials)but again, i'm not free to assign materials where i want, and i just can use the pre-existing face selections and work on those, but it's not enough for me. i got Inventor recently, and i've been working on a model of a longboard just to teach myself how to use the tools in Inventor. right now i'm trying to color areas for the griptape pattern so i drew the 2D pattern and projected it onto the 3D model of the longboard. but when i tried to split the faces of the model along the projected pattern only a few of the projected lines split the faces. for other faces i kept getting these errors: 

Create parting line failed Crane.ipt: Errors occurred during update Split11: Could not build this Split The attempted operation did not produce a meaningful result. Try with different inputs.

AutoCad :: Text Rendering As Union Flag

I am trying to create a company logo and would like the text of the first word to be rendered as a union flag and the second word as the Sierra Leone flag, ie a bold font with just the fill showing the flag.

I have tried putting a flag behind text and trimming so it only shows through the text but not only does trim not work, I cant seem to get a transparent fill for the text anyway. Ive seen an example of transparent text but no instructions as to how to do it.

I'd like to make the line a MINIMUM length of X" (I haven't decided how long yet--but know I'll need a minimum).  But then after the user fills in the attribute, I'd like the length of the line to change to the length of the attribute plus a small amount (again, I haven't decided yet how much extra).

I was wondering if there is a way with DB's to have a line "follow" or "grow" with the content/value length of an attribute. Maybe some method of linking the attribute width to length of the line? Essentially, it would work just like turning on the underline setting when typing in mtext editor (or any program with an underline option for that matter), expect that the line could be placed anywhere, and would not have to reside directly below the text.

With using superelevation wizard in Civil 3d 2012, changing the lane width is not affecting the resulted values of transion length and run-off length, Is that correct ? ( as civil is using standerd AASHTO tables which assume that lane width typically is 3.6m )

Also, There is only 2 tables for 2-lanes and 4-lanes roadway, Is it for total road width or for one directon only, and what about different no. of lanes ?

I've tried using the union tool in AutoCAD 2013 as well as the Boolean join function in Inventor Fusion 2013. In AutoCAD it doesn't let me select more than one object (says that the array is the only object and that individual unit blocks are duplicates). In Inventor Fusion I can't seem to get the hand of selecting the target & tool bodies.

CorelCAD :: UNION Fails With Solids Made Entirely From 3D Polylines

FAIL-UNION-3D-Polyline based wedge.dwg...An unusual bug here, and a workaround of sorts. This one is fairly serious and results from attempting a union of a solid with another solid, when one of the solids is created entirely from 3D polylines and is not on a CCS planar axis.

I'll attach the same file twice - once with a bug ( 3D polyline solid ) and once without the bug ( Solid has been modified to include one "normal" polyline face. 

In the middle, a wedge connects the two. Basically, I needed to increase the angle between them by 15 degrees, so slice, polyline around faces and LOFT. Pretty simple and straight forward.  The result was that any attempt of a union with the wedge in the middle results in a failure due to inconsistent faces, and the deletion of the non-polyline solid.

This results in damage to the file, and the operation must be backed out or reloaded.If the middle solid includes ONE normal polyline face, with a repositioned CCS on the face, then no problem. This is a workaround, but only sometimes, however if fixes the problem for both the polyline face and the 3D polyline face.

I've encountered this problem a few times, but it was this project that made it possible to capture it cleanly and understand what was happening. It's a critical bug, but only affects parts made from 3D polylines and LOFT operation, so it's more likely to affect complicated designs.

To see problem, take 3D polyline file and use SOLID UNION on the three ( or middle and one side ) pieces and you'll get an error and part deletion. Try again with the "workaround" file, and you'll see that it works both sides now.

The file with this post is the "broken" one - the middle wedge is a single 3D solid created with LOFT and 3D Polylines.

AutoCad :: Printing To PDF - Tiny Scaling Error

Whenever I print to PDF I seem to get a tiny scaling error. If I print directly from Autocad the drawing is scaled perfectly. When I print exactly the same drawing as a pdf the scale is slightly out.

I think it could be the paper size I am selecting- I dont really understand the difference between the ISO full bleed- expand ect..

I have a drawing that is 50 scale. However my sections are all 10 scale.  When I set my viewport to 10 scale, all my text is tiny. I can go into the style of the section view and change the size, but then it's too large in model space. Nothing I've tried will change the size of my text in paperspace.

AutoCAD 2010 :: When Plotting To PDF Tiny Black Holes Get Printed?

As you can see in the attached images their are tiny black holes that appear on the plotted pdf that are not there in paper space. I use the 3d clip command for my viewports to split up the tower into sections. The only thing I can think of is that for some odd reason when plotted the plot routine picks up these bolt holes that are suppose to be clipped out. how to prevent this?
