I have utilized the "old school" Flow Line Lintetype (with the ARROW that is never really centered) for many years
I have been trying to acquire the preferred FlowLine Arrow Linetype (complex with the arrow shape)
So far, I have not succeeded. What is the easiest way to obtain/create this preferred linetype ? (arrow directions change with the direction of the polyline)....
Sometimes when I plot/publish a DWF or PDF the arrows extend past the extension lines. I need the point of my arrows always end at the extension line?

I can get the outline of my arrow head to save as a shape, but have not figured out how to save the hatching to show up in a linetype. I need the arrow head to be shaded in solid. Also is there any downloadable linetypes out there for Civil 3D?
View 5 Replies View RelatedNow, in my understanding, the flow arrow should either be rotated 0, or 180 (pi radians). But clearly, some of them like to have their own mind about things, and decide on some other rotation. It seems that on the steep slopes, the arrows go a bit skew.
I think the skew is related to the actual elevation difference of the segment, rather than the steepness of the slope. A long segment with 15% slope has a worse skew than a short segment at over 30%, presumably because the elevation difference from the start to the end of the segment is larger.
How to make custom brushes flow in a curved line. For instance I created a thorn stem brush and it works if I use it in a straight line (A) but if I curve it, it goes out of shape (B)...

I am trying to use the line shape tool. However, the shape stroke type affects the arrows. Does it mean that I have to draw the line first, without the arrows, and then add the solid arrows to the line
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a client that wants to put in a constant flow into an inlet and have SSA calculate the HGL downstream of that (as well as add additional flows at additional inlets). Is there a way to do this? I tried adding an "Initial flow" to a pipe but after running the analysis, that flow wasn't the peak of the pipe (I used 1cfs for the initial flow and the peak was 0.77 cfs).

I have one section that has a known flow of 1.31 cfs. The results for this pipe section shows 28.82 cfs (peak flow during analysis) and 6.06 cfs (design flow capacity). The pipe section is a 15" with constructed slope of 0.0088 ft/ft. The max velocity attained is 23.48 ft/sec. I know that the downstream is undersized. Could this flow rate be caused by the downstream backflows? The model is setup as hydrodynamic and rational method. My inertial terms are set at ignore, time step = 0, junction surface area = 0 and variable time step with safety factor 75%. I have gutter bypass flows and my sag structures have ponded area set at 100.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBy some setting or default, when I dimension a diameter in Autocad 2010, I get a dim line that only has one arrow that points to one side of a circle, just like a radius. I'd like the diameter dims to have an arrow on both sides of circles.
I've been through the settings in Dimstyles. and didn't find a combination that made the desired change. I've looked at the properties for a specific diameter dimension and found nothing that worked there. I looked into block modifications using BEDIT and Properties, but I found nothing there either. While I may have overlooked a combination of changes in Properties, I tried a lot in there.
where the setting is to reverse the flow of a pipe. I have the flow arrow shown in the wrong direction plus am showing a negative slope on a pipe, which should never be done.

At the moment we are thinking we have to do the alignments, profiles and corridors all in one design drawing for it all to be dynamic? If so this file is going to be huge. The 10 year storm peak flow going into the inlet is 3.91 cfs and my flow in the link to the outfall is 10.55 cfs. I do not understand why it is increasing going into the pipe. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got GIS shape files for sanitary sewer pipes and manholes which contains object data for the upstream and downstream inverts on each pipe as well as the lowest invert at each manhole. Ideally, I would like to add an arrow to the pipe showing the flow direction in the sewer. i know I can use the annotation template to label the inverts, but is there a way to automate the process to add the direction arrow?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out how to reverse the flow direction on my pipe so I was going to just redraw it but after I delete a pipe and rt click to edit network the "add pipes and stuctures" won't let me add anything. I'm just guessing I need to reverse the flow direction because my invert out and invert in elevations are backwards in the profile. I'm working in Civil3D 2012.

When I create a line label, one of the components available is “Direction Arrow”. This component is not available for “Curve” labels. I would really like to use C3D labels to indicate direction (I realize curves don't have a 'direction', but I don’t mind manually flipping and reversing the arrow). Is there any other label option in C3D that will draw a direction arrow for curves?
When I did the confirmation after I drew the arrow, it shrank to be small. Like the pictures attached.

I have attached a small jpeg to illustrate. The dimension is the green line.
I noticed a post a few years ago mentioning this function wasn't available then. Is it still not available? Is there a routine? A lisp? An expression that I can make to put a slope arrow inside every tin in my surface with a % grade?

For example--I draw a rectangle and draw a horizontal dimension across the center of the rectangal. Then I flip the arrows and drag the number to the left outside of the rectangal. I want arrows facing inward from the left and right and the number out to the left. I don't want a line stretched across the center of the rectangal.
When I use slice command in a 3D model, after separation into two parts, each part can't editable, you can only move them.
You can see in arrows on # 1 and # 2 3D model, but after using separate into it two parts by slice command , these arrows are disappeared.
How can I see arrows again to change dimensions of 3D model easily?
