After installing 2013, the %ReportDir% variable for 2011 is pointing to the 2013 install, where the reports have NOT been customized. So when you run a report in 2011, it is using the XSL files in the 2013 location.
So the long and the short of it is the 2013 install broke our 2011 custom reporting ability.how to control the %ReportDir% variable in 2011?

The main question I have is when should I delete lines in my surface, so if there is literature on how to manipulate surfaces created from survey data that would be perfect.
How to customize the reports that Civil 3d can generate to my firms needs. I have figured out how to change the appearance and precisions to the most of the numbers, but i still can not figure out a lot. Currently i am working on the output of the Parcel Map Check Report. If you look at the attachment i have an Image of what i have been asked to generate and an excel file of what i have been able to generate. I need to figure out how to remove the "," from the coordinates and how to rearrange/ change font of the way some things come out.
View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing Report manager - Toolbox editor panorama I create a new parcel tool, in this case an xslt type, set up and can run it by right clicking the new tool while still in the panorama box. When I save it using the disk icon at the top of the page it does not show up in the Reports Manager toolbox. I refresh both boxes and still have a no show. Get out of the editor and still nada in the toolbox. I'm using C3D 2012 sp2 Win 7 64 bit. This report and setup acts correctly on a sister machine (32bit) C3D 2012 sp2 Win XP sp3.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create some cross section reports. But I have noticed that none of the options available (Section Point Report, or any of the ones that use Sample Lines) will show any featureline information if it is not part of the region which is attached to the alignment chosen in the report.
For instance, I prefer to create my splitter islands as a seperate baseline (levels taken from a dummy surface) and add a simple kerb assembly to this. (So both are in the same corridor). My normal visual cross sections show the splitter island kerbs without issue. But the cross section reports do not.
I have a similar problem with some of the footways, which are created on a separate baseline. (I am working on car parks, where the footway surrounds the car park. So it is easier to create the footways seperately). The section reports do not pick up the footways, presumably because it belongs to a different baseline.......
I dont understand why a section report cant simply pick up any featureline it crosses??

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have edited the "GeneralLegalPhrasings.xml" file used for the parcel report "General_Legal_Description_for_Parcels".
Two issues: 1. it will not label a reverse curve properly....it shows them all as "compound curves". 2. A curve to curve is always shown as "NonTangent".
I've attached the .xml file (I only edited the imperial parcels - the second large group of <Metes>).
Quite simply, these two "types" below have the words "reverse curve" and tangent or non-tangent accordingly in the output phrase, but it only creates non-tangent compound reports.

Curve to NonTangentReverseCurve
This is the report from the parcel in the attached dwg file (notice the "curve to the left" -> "curve to the right" labelled as compound, and all non-tangent curve to curve):

is there maybe an error in the XSL?
Here is my alignment, correctly labelled in South Azimuth:
Before customising, the Alignment_Curve report gives me this:
It’s been drilled into me that we should keep Civil 3D Objects as separate as we can in the design process, thus minimizing data loss in case of corruption (or other some such disaster). So, our current workflow for our transportation projects is as follows:
Receive LandXML files of points, surface and existing CL alignment from surveyor.
Create a separate dwg for points which is then xref attached into our base model
Create dwg for EG surface, create dref
Create base model (existing conditions)
Create Roadway dwg, import LandXML of existing CL
Create design CL, dref
Create design profile, dref
Create Corridor dwg
[code]...
We are now being asked to produce slope staking reports, which require a “live” corridor and a SLG. Our current workflow doesn’t have both of these in the same drawing and since you can’t dref a corridor or a SLG, I'm forced to duplicate the SLG in the corridor dwg. Obviously copy/paste the SLG isn't an option either. I tried that, then exploding them down to polylines and creating a new SLG from the polylines, select them all, yeah, random creation.
Is the intended workflow to have the design corridor, SLG and all the section views in one drawing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to run two reports one for Cut and Fill, and one for Materials (shapes). I would like two material lists for the same alignment and sample line group.
The process, setup the materials list for Pave, Base, and Subbase. Generate report, delete list and setup for Cut and Fills, run the report. You do this over and over. Autodesk please add a way to save and import these setups, and a way to create multiple lists for each alignment and sample line group.
Note: Why the Civil 3d default for the interlude into the actual Compute Materials dialogue is Pave, Subbase, Base is beyond me, could someone tell the programmers that Subbase is generally below Base. Each time I have to delete the CIvil 3D defaults and redo this step.
I have a client that wants to put in a constant flow into an inlet and have SSA calculate the HGL downstream of that (as well as add additional flows at additional inlets). Is there a way to do this? I tried adding an "Initial flow" to a pipe but after running the analysis, that flow wasn't the peak of the pipe (I used 1cfs for the initial flow and the peak was 0.77 cfs).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am modeling an existing storm system that is under capacity. After running the model, some of the flows seem to be incorrect. I have one section that has a known flow of 1.31 cfs. The results for this pipe section shows 28.82 cfs (peak flow during analysis) and 6.06 cfs (design flow capacity). The pipe section is a 15" with constructed slope of 0.0088 ft/ft. The max velocity attained is 23.48 ft/sec. I know that the downstream is undersized. Could this flow rate be caused by the downstream backflows? The model is setup as hydrodynamic and rational method. My inertial terms are set at ignore, time step = 0, junction surface area = 0 and variable time step with safety factor 75%. I have gutter bypass flows and my sag structures have ponded area set at 100.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a huge subdivision that we are about to do in civil 3d. The subdivision has over 1800 lots. I am wondering what is the best way to go about this. At the moment we are thinking we have to do the alignments, profiles and corridors all in one design drawing for it all to be dynamic? If so this file is going to be huge. Is there a way we can split it up and still keep everything dynamic?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a simple catchment area that I've routed to an inlet and then to an outfall. The 10 year storm peak flow going into the inlet is 3.91 cfs and my flow in the link to the outfall is 10.55 cfs. I do not understand why it is increasing going into the pipe. I've attached the pdf results here because for some reason it won't let me attach.spf file.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out how big my pipes need to be for a storm sewer that I already have set elevations for. View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out how to reverse the flow direction on my pipe so I was going to just redraw it but after I delete a pipe and rt click to edit network the "add pipes and stuctures" won't let me add anything. Is it possible to have pipe flow direction method set to "by slope" by default when we creating new pipes?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am modelling a steep channel of constant slope operating under super critical flow conditions between two small weirs. I have set up two different models to represent this:
1. A single link between the upstream and downstream weirs.
2. I have also modeled the channel as a number of smaller links with the same slope separated by nodes spaced arbitrarily along the channel length.
The two models give very different results. The former results in an unstable channel (oscillates between sub- and super critical flow) and a maximum velocity in the channel of around 1.5m/s. It seems to me that the velocity in the upper section of the channel should be higher. I assume this has something to do with the manner in which SSA averages the velocities along the entire channel link.
The second model gives more realistic velocities in the upper channel links (around 3.6m/s) and a hydraulic jump and transition to sub critical flow upstream of the weir in the lower channel. This seems more realistic. I think the trick here is to make sure that the downstream link is long enough to enable realistic formation of the hydraulic jump in the model.
I am trying to create a new linetype using arrows to show the direction of a flow. I can get the outline of my arrow head to save as a shape, but have not figured out how to save the hatching to show up in a linetype. I need the arrow head to be shaded in solid. Also is there any downloadable linetypes out there for Civil 3D?
View 5 Replies View RelatedNow, in my understanding, the flow arrow should either be rotated 0, or 180 (pi radians). But clearly, some of them like to have their own mind about things, and decide on some other rotation. It seems that on the steep slopes, the arrows go a bit skew.
I think the skew is related to the actual elevation difference of the segment, rather than the steepness of the slope. A long segment with 15% slope has a worse skew than a short segment at over 30%, presumably because the elevation difference from the start to the end of the segment is larger.
I can't seem to find where to increase the flow direction arrow size on a watershed. Am accessing remotely, it's a bit laggy and bothersome, but doable. I looked all over Toolspace.
