I can't seem to find where to increase the flow direction arrow size on a watershed. Am accessing remotely, it's a bit laggy and bothersome, but doable. I looked all over Toolspace.
View 3 RepliesNow, in my understanding, the flow arrow should either be rotated 0, or 180 (pi radians). But clearly, some of them like to have their own mind about things, and decide on some other rotation. It seems that on the steep slopes, the arrows go a bit skew.
I think the skew is related to the actual elevation difference of the segment, rather than the steepness of the slope. A long segment with 15% slope has a worse skew than a short segment at over 30%, presumably because the elevation difference from the start to the end of the segment is larger.
i am trying to learn it by myself. That's why i am facing some problems. Some of them are listed bellow.
1. How can i get more hatch items?
2. How can i increase LEADER's arrow size?
3. Whats the different between MODEL & LAYOUTS (1 & 2)?
4. Why Hidden line(.5x) not hidden in MODEL?
5. Why Dashed(D2) not shown as dashed in MODEL?
I can't figure out how to reverse the flow direction on my pipe so I was going to just redraw it but after I delete a pipe and rt click to edit network the "add pipes and stuctures" won't let me add anything. I'm just guessing I need to reverse the flow direction because my invert out and invert in elevations are backwards in the profile. I'm working in Civil3D 2012.

I can get the outline of my arrow head to save as a shape, but have not figured out how to save the hatching to show up in a linetype. I need the arrow head to be shaded in solid. Also is there any downloadable linetypes out there for Civil 3D?

I've got GIS shape files for sanitary sewer pipes and manholes which contains object data for the upstream and downstream inverts on each pipe as well as the lowest invert at each manhole. Ideally, I would like to add an arrow to the pipe showing the flow direction in the sewer. i know I can use the annotation template to label the inverts, but is there a way to automate the process to add the direction arrow?

when I draw a polyline, or use it as the linetype in a feature line style, the arrows seem to revrse whenever there is a change in direction any significance. Also, the reverse command and reversefeature command have no effect. Rotating a segment does not change the direction. I know I must be missing something.
In the attached, I have a feature line, and a polyline that the arrows change direction when the feature does.

how to get 2013 C3D to create a large watershed with a big elevation drop? Arcview can do it, but I bought the new version of AutoCad, which meant a new computer, instead of the Arcview extension and I don't see it happening.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI need the features shown in a connected SHP file to display an arrow indicating their direction (i.e. -----> or ----->-----). This seem that it would be important to anyone using Map for municipal engineering (sewers tend to be directional!), drainage (so are culverts!), etc..The difficulty in doing this simple task is just adding to my hatred of Map (especially given the amount of money I've spent on Autodesk products)!

I have cut several sections at different points along a road alignment. The sections are cut facing the same direction as the alignmnet. Is there a way to reverse the section direction without changing the alignment direction?

I'm combining the multiple paths with arrows to make the 3D effect (which is on all of them obviously) flow as one instead of on top of eachother. When I use the compound path command it reverses all my arrows and I have no way of changing them back without releasing the compound path (which puts them back to their original state of being on top of eachother)

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm using DP7, and working on a logo with 3 different shapes. They all have bevels applied to them (applied at different times and angles). I like having the light angle direction arrow to drag around to see the different effects from different angles but the arrow isn't always visible. What do I need to do to keep it visible, or make it visible? If I hit Ctl+B or Ctl+F the arrow will appear but the selected object will also move to the front or back at the same time. I've tried selecting the object first, then the bevel icon, and sometimes that works and sometimes not, although the outer bevel arrows will be visible. Even when the rotation arrow isn't visible I can change the light angle with the slider but I would prefer the rotational arrow instead.

Is there a way to do this? I tried adding an "Initial flow" to a pipe but after running the analysis, that flow wasn't the peak of the pipe (I used 1cfs for the initial flow and the peak was 0.77 cfs).

I have one section that has a known flow of 1.31 cfs. The results for this pipe section shows 28.82 cfs (peak flow during analysis) and 6.06 cfs (design flow capacity). The pipe section is a 15" with constructed slope of 0.0088 ft/ft. The max velocity attained is 23.48 ft/sec. I know that the downstream is undersized. Could this flow rate be caused by the downstream backflows? The model is setup as hydrodynamic and rational method. My inertial terms are set at ignore, time step = 0, junction surface area = 0 and variable time step with safety factor 75%. I have gutter bypass flows and my sag structures have ponded area set at 100.

The 10 year storm peak flow going into the inlet is 3.91 cfs and my flow in the link to the outfall is 10.55 cfs. I do not understand why it is increasing going into the pipe. In Photoshop 5, if I turn on the pressure sensitivity while using the Clone tool (and perhaps other tools as well...) I have to bear down very hard to make the pixels being cloned appear in the entire circle [brush] specified. The behavior I want is, instead, to be able to CHOOSE 1. pressure changes size of the flow within the brush [size]setting or 2. the full brush size places cloned pixels on the image at a rate of flow directly controlled by the pressure I exert on the pen nib.
There are some kinds of images that need to go back and forth easily between the two choices. Behavior now is just #1.
