i'm trying to move the green dummy in the direction of the white arrow I use wire parameter from the Boom Helper, so when i rotate the boom helper i want the weights to move on the local x axes of the dummy but it only moves in the worlds x axes (black arrow)
View 8 RepliesI run into this from time to time: I have animated some components using dummy objects but then realize that at some point I need to animate them all moving together, so I link the dummy objects to a new parent dummy that I just created. However, most of the time the child dummy objects go haywire, orienting themselves in new directions as soon as I link them to the parent dummy.

However, when I animate them it will only let me rotate them around each individual part's axis. How can I temporarily link these parts to a parent dummy object so that I can rotate them together? I want this to happen midstream in the animation and after the rotation I will be decoupling the parts and having them do different things..

This seem that it would be important to anyone using Map for municipal engineering (sewers tend to be directional!), drainage (so are culverts!), etc..The difficulty in doing this simple task is just adding to my hatred of Map (especially given the amount of money I've spent on Autodesk products)!

I'm combining the multiple paths with arrows to make the 3D effect (which is on all of them obviously) flow as one instead of on top of eachother. When I use the compound path command it reverses all my arrows and I have no way of changing them back without releasing the compound path (which puts them back to their original state of being on top of eachother)
View 3 Replies View RelatedNow, in my understanding, the flow arrow should either be rotated 0, or 180 (pi radians). But clearly, some of them like to have their own mind about things, and decide on some other rotation. It seems that on the steep slopes, the arrows go a bit skew.
I think the skew is related to the actual elevation difference of the segment, rather than the steepness of the slope. A long segment with 15% slope has a worse skew than a short segment at over 30%, presumably because the elevation difference from the start to the end of the segment is larger.
I can't seem to find where to increase the flow direction arrow size on a watershed. Am accessing remotely, it's a bit laggy and bothersome, but doable. I looked all over Toolspace.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using DP7, and working on a logo with 3 different shapes. They all have bevels applied to them (applied at different times and angles). I like having the light angle direction arrow to drag around to see the different effects from different angles but the arrow isn't always visible. What do I need to do to keep it visible, or make it visible? If I hit Ctl+B or Ctl+F the arrow will appear but the selected object will also move to the front or back at the same time. I've tried selecting the object first, then the bevel icon, and sometimes that works and sometimes not, although the outer bevel arrows will be visible. Even when the rotation arrow isn't visible I can change the light angle with the slider but I would prefer the rotational arrow instead.

Ever since CS5, the move function has operated normally in the horizontal direction but backwards in the vertical direction. In other words, entering a positive value moves objects down, entering a negative value moves them up.
At first I thought this was a bug, but it has continued in CS6 and CC on every computer we have. Yes I'm getting used to it but it's opposite of every other software package we have or have ever had, including Illustrator up to CS5.
I can't find a user control to correct this. Is there a way to do it?
Just recently started getting this hint of green on all white test. I have Gimp 2.7.3 and am using Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit. I just upgraded to 11.10 this problem was also occurring on 11.04.

I would like to move entire objects - for example mass objects - up or down directly in a 3d view of random orientation, now only top- or bottom face can be moved vertically, the whole object moves only on xy -plane. Can vertical movement of an object be done intuitively graphically and/or can it be be numerically, feeding coordinates?
Have tried all sources, but cannot find solution, and refuse to believe that Revit would be the only 3d/bim software on planet where direct vertical manipulation of objects is not possible.
how to move the window around with the arrow keys and I just can't find it. A little box popped up in the upper left hand corner that allowed you to move the drawing window around to find a hidden dialog box.
In 2013 Civil 3d I am having the issue that when I select the Add/ Delete scales the cursor changes to an arrow and the program waits. If i hit the exscape key it goes back to normal. My best guess is the dialog box is popping up behind the drafting window.

Is there a way to move the tip of the other scale's arrow of an annotative multileader in the model space ?
For exemple, I shifted this tree a little bit to the left. I have a multileader pointing to the middle of it to indicate the tree species. When selecting the multileader, I can use the little blue square to move the tip of the small arrow but how can I move the other one ?
Since that multileader is pointing to other trees as well, I cannot move the whole thing.
I guess I could go to the paper space and into a viewport using that scale, but I need to do that quite often and I'm sure there should be an easier way.
After I select the north arrow in my cad drawing what format should I save it as?

Maintaining corner points is no problem - you just set the direction handles to the same coordinates as their anchor.
But I can't nudge a smooth point in the way I want to, which is to move the anchor but maintain the direction handles in exactly the same relation to their anchor as they had before. That is to say, they should remain smooth points.
My script calculates the difference between 'before' and 'after' positions of the anchor, and applies that difference to the direction handles… but in practice the smooth points are converted to corners, because the direction handles don't maintain their relation with the anchor.

is there a way to remove or avoid getting purple & green hues in midtones (occasionally in shadows) when making images black and white?
I've been using the channel mixer (most times the red channel) to covert images to black and white and there's noticable purple/green hues.
I have Photoshop Elements 10, and am trying to print a black and white drawing that was scanned, then sent to me via email. When I print out this image, it has an overall green hue and I cant figure out why. I have the black/grayscale box checked in the advanced print settings, but that has still not fixed my problem.

I have a block that has a leader under an ARCH dimstyle. It's red but when I insert it into a drawing the line and arrow are white because that's what the ARCH style is in the drawing. Isn't there a setting that stops that from happening?
