My question is: do all types of hatching increase the drawing file size or does solid hatching behave differently and only add a few kbs rather than a few hundred?

I have a few images that are essentially line drawings (B&W) that I want to make larger for presentation (i.e., click for larger size) on our new Website. The current size is not large enough.
If I increase pixel sizes, the quality is terrible. For example, see:

Settings *jpg: Width - 270; Height - 138; Scale styles - Y; Constrain proportions - Y; Resample image - Bicubic
If I increase *jpg to Width - 450; Height - 230, I get UGLY.
When I Save for Web as *gif, I change Width - 450; Height - 230, it still appears fuzzy, although not as much.
I have a file that is 622kb and it has to be at least 2mb for publication. I've saved the file as the maximum quality but it's still too small.
The original was 122kb.
In converting a flat rgb jpg to an eps via Save As… the file size increases to basically uncompressed size. I thought eps files could contain jpg format. Has that changed?
I also notice eps files are no longer supported when clipping paths to InDesign. Is eps file type being deprecated?
I rendered an animation and saved it as .avi file. But the file size limit to 0.99 GB so only first few seconds of the animation was saved.
what I can do to increase the file size limit so the animation can be fully rendered and saved?

Is it possible to scale the cross-hatching in a detail that was created from a section view so it looks better with the scale of a detail? If the scale factor of a detail is much larger than its parent, the cross-hatching is very sparse and detracts from clarity rather than adding to it.

We have a drawing that has been exploded purged, overkilled, audited and we still cannot decrease the size of it. Theres no blocks, theres no 3d, its a very simple drawing but I feear its corrupted. I've tried copy/blocking the information out of it but that just makes it crash. I cant attach it its too big! (16 meg)
View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen i bind the xref's the file size is increasing up to 50mb. the size of the file before binding is 4.5mb. i tried all the options whic ppl given in the discussion here. purged(all regeapps,zero txts etc.),wblock even some lisps. but all in vain. even i tried to audit but it took 2hrs and nothing happened. this dwg containing only lines poly lines, blocks, txts etc. no images and not even dence hatches also. 1500 drawings like this. i have to submit the softcopy soon.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing that has a filesize of 10meg even when there are no entities in the drawing.There are about 1000 lietypes in the drawing but it wont let me purge them out.These are what are most likely causing the bloat.Some things I have tried without success...
Erase all then purge 3x and audit then purge 3x then audit. Qselect shows no entities in drawing.Save back to acad 2007 and repeat above
We use LT 2012, and recently we started having issues with file size.
Some of our drawings went from 1.5MB to 12MB after saving.
We tried saving as DXF then PURGE, -PURGE to reduce the size but always comes back.
Now, in one of the drawings I did PURGE, AUDIT, -PURGE and erased everything in the drawing, file is still 1.8MB.
Trying to find a way to increase the size of the 3D spline nodes so that they can be seen easier. Is there a setting to control this?

I am attempting to create a cm scale drawing in AutoCAD of an rc airplane with a 200 cm wingspan. Problem is, the drawing only goes out to about 125 cm to the right, an I cannot pan or zoom out any further. I can't seem to find an option anywhere to change this. An Internet search has indicated I should use the limits command from the command prompt to increase the drawing limits, but this has had no effect.

When using a "Standard(mm).ipt" and designing the part in mm, upon export it shrinks the dimensions down.
For example, the width of my sketch is 193mm, upon inspection on a different computer with VCarve Pro and CUT3D were 19mm.
I don't want to dimension the parts as to make the problems in export to the right size because I think that defeats the universal aspects of autodesk.
