We're about to roll out LT 2012 now the SP1 is out, normally I would run round and change the default options by hand (template locations, support file paths etc..) Is there any way I can do this in a macro, or some other way, which means I don't have to go to 100 PC's?
We have recently found the feature of copying the model iProperties to the drawing would be beneficial to searching for files in our ERP database. I am looking for a way to turn on the ability to copy model iProperties and select which properties to copy with a macro. There are several articles showing how to enable the feature and several ways to macro the same process. I have not been able to find a way to turn it on with a macro.
We plan to adjust our templates to enable the feature on all new drawings and add additional custom iProperties to the models that were previously only used in the drawings. I have wrote a macro to add iProperties to existing models that didn't have them when they were created. Now I am looking for a way to enable everything in the drawing. I see a great benefit to clicking a single button to enable the copy model iProperties feature and select several iProperties that will be copied without having to do it manually for every old drawing.
Is there a way to access the check box to enable this and to select properties within the API? If not, would creating a macro to do the copy from the model to the drawing be the best way to create that functionality in an older drawing or not? We have a little program that will give programmatic control over the mouse but creating code to access the feature that way would be more hassle than teaching our users to manually check the boxes.
We are now running AutoCAD 2012 on our network. We had a third party come in a long time ago and write us a custom macro that generates specsheets for our product. The problem is it was written for AutoCAD 2004.
Any way to move that code from 2004 to 2012 somewhat easily. If not easily, at least tell me that it is possible without having to rewrite the entire macro.
I need a macro to auto label, with DIMLINEAR, the lines for Rafters with the lenghts. I have the Dimension Styles set up for each roof pitch, but need a macro to auto label the line instead of clicking each line individually. Also, I can't find a ROUNDUP feature in the Dimension Styles. I've got it to round to the nearest 2' but it won't go up....if it's 11' it goes to 10'...I need it to go to 12'.

I would like to modify the Quality setting shown in the "Shaded viewport options" section of the plot dialog box (see attachment). The default appears to be Normal, and the options are Draft, Preview, Normal, Presentation, Maximum, and Custom. I want to use Maximum for 11x17 PDF files but I have 1000's. I can't open each file and change the setting, and then Apply to Layout. I'd also like to know what "Custom" means, but I will settle for maximum for now.
Is this option available under PlotSettings somewhere?
I am having a problem with the memory limit setting. I am setting my memory limit to be 2056 MB, but it will not keep the setting. I can change it and get a message stating that the change will not work until I restart Civil 3D (Map 3D). When I do that, it goes back to a 204 MB limit instead of the 2 GB I want.
How can I get Civil (Map) to remember this setting?
I am looking for a way to set a couple options in the Manual Tune window from the Performance Tuning window (3DCONIG Prompt). More specifically I want to be able to:
Check what the setting for Enable hardware acceleration is (so it can be restored back)Set Enable hardware acceleration offReduce the number of tessellations to cacheReduce both the Surfaces, and Curves tessellation How would I do this from command line? My ultimate goal here is to run these commands in .NET.
Trying to set up Plant 3D so i can produce iso drawings. We have our pipe routed and tagged. When we select a pipe line that consist of only five or 6 parts (pipe, elbows, etc) it breaks the isos up into that amound of drawings files.
I'm using Draw X6 64 bit. The program seems to get very unstable with large multipage files., especially just after saving. The save icon greys out suggesting a save is completed but it seems the save is still going on in the background. Is there anyway to get the old behaviour back so that the icon only greys out when the document is actually completely saved? It's safer to stop editing the file while it is saving rather than continue working on it, but the icon is giving me misleading feedback..
How to use the "Shaded Viewport Options" in the Plot dialog box? We saw an option for Sketchy in the dropdown menu but I can't find any information about how to use it, or how to change the settings, or even what the intent is for it. When we have selected it and viewed in Preview it shows up as a mass of lines too dense to be usable.
Is there any way to stop the flipping of the solid/sketch view from iso to normal?
its annoying to make changes to a sketch and constantly have to re orient the part after finishing a sketch, I dont want the solid model to return to iso view after sketching, is there a setting for this?
I just installed the 2012 version, and I clicked the "Migrate Custom Setting" where my old setting from 2010 was generated. How can I reverse this or resetting it up to its original/ default when you first time to open the CAD2012?
I have a client who has a customized workstation in 2012 and is trying to move to 2014. We have gotten most of it done but theyaretryingtoloadacustomlipsroutineanditkeepsfailing.
how to change the default setting under Jpeg options when saving changes, at present its ticked for Qulaity 12 Max but we want it on Quality 8 high and its a real pain having to change this setting every time we edit an image.
Softimage 2012 'send to' 3dsmax options are unavailable. I only see one option and that is 'update 3dsmax current scene'. If I click that it comes up with 'no ICE TREE to return, canceling operation' and nothing is exported. Would love to be able to use this feature.
I have recently upgraded to ver 2012 from ver 2000. I have numerous macros that were written for the older version that I need to utilize in ver 2012. I manually recreated them in the new version by typing in the commands from ver 2000. As I expected I am getting errors when I try to run these macros in Ver 2012. The mlayer command, for example, does not work. I am pretty sure I need to use the -layer command and have tried this but I still get errors. While I am relatively proficient in ver 2000 I am having some trouble finding commands in ver 2012 that match the old version. Below is an example of a macro from ver 2000 as well as my attempt to rewrite it in ver 2012.
when I trying to publish in single-sheet file. so I type publish on my command bar, then I chose publish to pdf but when i try to click on publish options to set the location where I need to put the pdf files the publish window freeze. same thing when i click on add sheet button.

What Revit 2012 setting makes walls and floors disappear when rendering is selected?
I have a Revit 8.1 project that renderes the model just fine. When I import it into Revit 2010 it also remders the model but I have to reassign the custom finishes. But when I upgrade it to 2012 and render - the walls and floors are suddenly missing!
The options window will not display when typing "options" in the command line or selecting from the drop down. The options menu has to be hidden somewhere because AutoCad will not allow any other commands after typing options until I hit escape. I have tried restarting CAD and rebooting my computer with not luck.
Best practices for setting up systems in a lab environment. We have a lab enviroment of about 200 systems that access AutoCad, Inventor, Mechanical and others.
We need to have a customized interface come up when Autocad is opened by students.I have read that you can do this with profiles and workspaces and also with loading a acad.lsp file.
In the past we have just copied the Windows admin profile used to customize AutoCad to the default profile. In AutoCad 2013 that does not seem to grab everything. It doesn't seem to be the best way to do what we need.
We will also be moving to Windows 7 soon which will also cause an issue.I want to find the best way to do this with out having to deal with the Windows profile.
After archiving out of 2012 SP3 and then un-unarchiving into 2012 SAP2 SP3, could i edit clips (with history)? For example, action-rendered clips, flame fx-rendered clips, etc.

When I am done with a drawing (inventor .dwg), I manually go to "Save Copy As" and select DXF, and using my default options, save the drawing as a DXF on a server (OUTSIDE of vault) that our shop guys can access for CNC stuff. I understand there is a DXF Translator that I may be able to set to do this for me. How to use Inventor add-ins (my translator is loaded, thats as far as I got) or set them as macros. A button on the ribbon to export to DXF would be nice and I may also want to automate this further and have it do it on file save.
We want to change iassemblies in a table using macro. When we change an iassemblies, inventor asks "Do you want to save changes to ......?". There are many iassemblies in our model, so it takes serious amount of time. We can disable all messages using macro, But this time after macro completion, there may be some errors in model, because we dont accept all changes. How can we accept all changes while running macro?
We use SilentOperation property. but in Save dialog, there are some parts indicated "yes" and some indicated "no". how can we change them "yes" and save all dependents?
I trying create simply macro for my work. It is mass rename for *.ipt files and their iProperty. And i need create condition "IF" for this (example 2 files):
