I'm having an issue with my 2013LT. Everytime I open a new drawing I get a dialog box that says "One or more SHX files are missing. What do you want to do?" The options they give me are "Specify a replacement for each SHX file" or "Ignore and continue".

I put a check mark in the "always perform current choice" item and select the "Specify a replacement for each shx file". I assume this replaces the missing shx file with the default shx file. But if I send the drawing to someone else they get the same message. Did the shx file not get replaced or do I need to do something further?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I downloaded my photos into Lightroom today I used today's date on the folder, but got the year wrong, 2013. After I completed editing my entire photo session, and tried to export some of the images, I realized I had the date wrong on the folder. I used my Mac's "Finder" to locate the file and change the name to 2014, with the rest of the folder name. I see now that this was a mistake and I should have probably changed the file name IN lightroom instead. Now I cannot export because I am getting the message about the files being offline or missing. I have tried to correct this by changing the folder name back to the original incorrect name (year), but this did not solve it. I clicked on the question marks and tried to "find" the folder, but that did not work either. It would be nice to be able to save my work in editing, rather than to have to start over again. In addition, Lightroom now shows several extra folders with the same folder names have been created that I didn't plan or create, purposely at least :

I was opening files and autocad was telling me that some xrefs were missing from the drawing, did I want to locate the xrefs or ignore (I hit ignore and accidentally checked the always do this to these types of files). Now, when I load a drawing I can not get the building to load into the drawings.
How to turn the locate feature back on for xrefs?
I was initially getting an error message when attempting to open Illustrator 6 on my Mac (running 10.6.8). An unknown error has occurred (4294967253). Adobe Illustrator will now quit. I read a post where the user was to select shift+option+command right after booting up. When I did that, a dialog box popped up asking if I'd like to participate in submitting feedback to Adobe and asked for my profession, location, industry, etc. It then attempted to open a new file but gave the following error: The document 'Print.ai' contains elements that are managed by plug-ins that are not currently available. You can delete or expand these elements but you cannot manipulate them in other ways. The missing plug-ins are listed below. Stroke Offset Live Effect (StrokeOffset.aip). I can open an existing file, but no tools are available to edit with and I get additional errors regarding missing plug-ins. My Mac has also been running a bit slow lately as well...not sure if the two issues are connected, but I'm willing to try anything to meet an impending deadline. I have plenty of space remaining on my computer, so that can't be it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using the sheet set manager with very few problems for years until - you guessed it - I was upgraded to Windows 7 OS v6.1 and Civil3D 2012 IDS.
Up until then, I was able to open layouts in different drawing files through the sheet set manager while in an open file. Now, I get an error message (see attached) and have to close the file I'm in to open the other.
I can open files through the regular file open command and have more than one open at the same time, but it takes away the convenience of using the sheet set manager to avoid having to browse to the desired sheet layouts when copyclipping sheet layout drawing elements from one file to another.
I have studied every sheet set system variable to see if that was the problem, but could not find an answer. I have the same problem in Civil3D 2010. It happens to new and existing sheet sets in both versions and sheet sets made before the Windows update.
I have a data set including .shx .shp .prj and .dbf files each named the same for landuse, rail, road, etc for a single city. How can I open these files to export a simple line drawing for use in a thesis project as a map.

After an external backup drive had its partition deleted we used recovery software to get as many files back as possible. It sorted the files by types but gave them all numbers for names. Using bridge to preview the illustrator files, most show a thumbnail, some just a small illustrator icon. When I try to open the files, some open no problems.
Some of the files are collections of vector art (multiple clipart in one file). In the preview that Bridge shows, the file is complete and all art is there. When I try to open some of these files, I get error messages like:
"Can't open the illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand.
##.####.##
%##.####.####.###.....etc."
And when I click "OK" the file is either missing some of the artwork or it is completely blank. How does the preview show the complete file and when opened it's either missing elements or blank?
is there a way to suppress the "missing shape file"-message.
I believe there was a checkbox to check this every time you open a drawing. I must have checked it, and now autocad always asks for it.
I have recently installed Civil 3D 2013 and was configuring my options to how I have done so for the last few year and when I tried to change the message window font from the default Courier new to Courier I could not find said font. How to get this font or if it has been removed from 2013?

If I click OK on the error message 4-5 times it goes away and PS CC boots up. I'm using 64bit PS CC in Windows 7 on a Dell XPS with a nVidia graphics card.

So, I am assuming that when the flash drive is missing is why I am getting the "jpg is missing or offline" message. Is there any way to fix this or do I just have to delete them all and "move" them?

I can create the message box, but when I looked through the iLogic snippets I didn't find any way to trigger the box at opening the file.

I have more photos ending up lost. Most I've done nothing t,o or moved since importing. I've tried the directions outlined in "help" but get the message "file not found" or "folder not found". All missing photos can be seen on my screen but I can't do anything with them. how to recover and have access to them?

Doing a client presentation with my MBP and the files are indeed offline. I usually my client selection process from the grid and loupe views, but I'm getting this message, pretty large across the top of the image. I don't remember this being an issue before, so either it wasn't there at all, or the text was smaller.

Unable to save to drawing B: (file location folder)file name.
Drawing saved to B: (same file location folder)savD214.tmp
The only option is to click OK
Now there are several .tmp files in my job folder. I haven't tried to open them or anything else.
The original file will be lost if I close the drawing. I've had this happen when I clsoe the drawing before saving it - I'll get a message asking if I want to save the draiwng before closing it, and then I'll get this message, click OK, and the file will be gone. I have to to the .bak file, make a copy of it and change the file extension name to .dwg to get the file back.
If I get this message when I'm just doing a ctrl-S save, I immediately do a "save-as", copy over the original file name, and everything seems to be fine.
I am using AutoCAD 2012 and I have an Issue that comes up once in a while. I will save the drawing that I am working in and a dialog box pops up with "AutoCAD Message. It says that it is unable to save to drawing, then lists the string where the drawing is found. Instead of saving as a .dwg, it creates a .tmp of the drawing. If I click the okay in the box it disappears and I can then resave the drawing as a .dwg. Lately it will even go so far as to lock the drawing and allow it to be only opened as a read only file.
