View 2 RepliesI use AutoCAD for mac 2013. I'm a interior design student and I have a question regarding editing 3D Blocks which can be downloaded from the web.
If I download a 'free' 3D Block, is it possible to edit the block in a way which removes the 'original origin' of that block?? I have tried exploding the block and redefining it in a wblock file and changing the layer. But I'm not sure if this process has removed the original information which it came from...
If there is a way to remove the origin (that is came from the web).

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn previous version of AutoCAd 2008 (or earlier) the images dialog to edit the images (i.e., brightness, sharpness, etc, it has been a long time and I forgot what they were, but they were there and with many options) was obvious, versatile, and very easily found then, but I could not find it in AutoCAD 2012.
how to get it in AutoCAD 2012?
I'm trying to insert a block using the "insert dialogue box". However, when I do, if I have the box for "insertion point" unchecked, I get the error "Block Insertion Failed" (picture 1).
If I check that box, I get the error "*Invalid* Block references itself". I have purged the drawing and there are no other blocks in the drawing.
If I double click a workplane in the browser, the edit dimension dialog comes up half way off screen, does not remember the screen position if I move it, so it has to be repositioned every time. Seems to be tied to the browser position.

I have several drawing templates that have prompted entry field text in the border and bring some model properties in the block. Problem is, if any change in the model properties occurs, this dialog box pops up EVERY TIME I return to the drawing, when changes in the model properties have nothing to do with the border. I have just checked and IV10 SP3a does not suffer from this behaviour. For me, this is an unnecessary dialog that pops up without being required to do so, and is time consuming - it takes extra mouse/keyboard clicks to dismiss and up to 10 seconds for it to close after being dismissed.
Is there an option to turn this off? (I've checked the Options >> Prompts tab, but there's nothing there)
I've written a program with c#.net for selecting objects and creating block without opening a window in autocad. But when I run its dll in autocad, it makes a block including many of the selected objects by me/user in one block.

I got too smart for myself today in bringing an old drawing up to current standards...Everyone seems to want their block attributes to be zero - I have blocks where the attributes are best when they match the rotations of each blocks.
I have an old drawing that was rotated (as it should be) at approx 2deg.
I used a lisp routine to global edit all the blocks that needed to be at zero. BUT for some reason (and after hundreds of blocks were corrected), I noticed I now have two blocks that should NOT have been in the set have had their attributes rotated to zero....and the attributes should be at the same rotation as their block's rotation.
Because those two blocks have a fixed tic mark, I can click on the mark to see what the block rotation is, then rotate its attribute to that rotation, but I have hundreds of blocks! One-at-a-time sucks....
Any chance there is a GLOBAL way to edit an attribute rotation to match its own block's rotation?
my "block editor settings" dialog box won't show up wether i try to access it via command line, options, or the block editor. everything else disables like it should be running..... but no dialog box?
I'm running autocad 2012.
I must be using the Enhanced attribute editor the wrong way. Every time I double click the attribute block the enhanced attribute editor opens the dialog box and I have to resize it so a can see all my tags. Then I have to click the tag I want to change then click the value to change it. To change a different tag I have to repeat that process over and over. It makes attributes a complete waste of time. It’s faster to change Mtext or Dtext. I must be doing something wrong. Is there a way to get the dialog box in the image to pop up when I double click the attribute block?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have LR4 and PS CS5. Edited several photos this morning without a problem --But this evening, after editing in LR, clicked command+E to open in Photoshop- as I always do, but didn't get the dialog that gives me the option to edit with LR changes. The files are opening as raw instead of TIFF all of a sudden! I have done nothing different aside from updating the Kubota dashboard.
I deleted the Kubota plug-in since that was the only thing I did out of the ordinary but still no luck. I am deserate to get images edited in LR transferred to PS WITH THE EDITS! Why would it work one minute and not the next?

When X7 and its Group Editing mode first came out, there were grumblings about the "Closing Document" dialog that appears when clicking on the little "X" found on the Edit Inside tab.
I am sure most folks have found that can all be bypassed (assuming you want to keep the edits you just made). But for those that haven't, simply click the Save Icon in the Standard Toolbar.

However, when I open my photos( I have a Canon Rebel T2i so the file extension is .CR2), it says, "processing Camera RAW file" and then opens the photo in the full edit mode instead of the Camera RAW dialog box. I checked my plug-in, and I have version 6.7 of the Camera RAW plug in. I'd really like to start working with Camera RAW! View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically, I have a dynamic block with a distance parameter attached to an array command. The array command has a column distance of 30 inches between columns. I need to edit that distance. Is there a way to do it or do I have to start over? I have to start over, I might cry a little bit. There are a lot of other actions compounded on top of this one.
I'll attach the file, but if you edit it for me, how you did it so I'll know? Tech a man to fish and all that nonsense.
Oh, and I'm using 2012 vanilla AC, which has a different block editor than most other versions, so beware. Oh, and I don't use ribbons..
I am updating a block with attributes, adding some new, removing some old and moving the rest around. As can be expected, when I am done and save the block and insert it the order of the attributes are all messed up.
Now, as far as I can understand, BATTMAN changes the order of the attributes all right - but only in that drawing where the block is inserterd in. I want to change the order permanently. This block is to be used on pretty much all of our projects, I can't have to run Battman all the time!
I use refedit quite a bit to edit blocks in-place, but can't find a way to do this with dynamic blocks without breaking the link to the original definition and creating a new block definition.
Is there a setting I can change, or another way to edit a dynamic block in-place?
I have multiple dynamic blocks that I would like to add descriptions to. If I have a block in a tool palette, I can add a description by right clicking and selecting "Properties." But I would like to add a description that shows up in the Design Center as well.
Is there a way to do this without redefining the block? Exploding makes me lose all of my dynamic properties, and I'd hate to have to recreate them.
I'm using LT 2008, by the way, so I don't have ref edit or any of that other cool stuff.
I think a setting changed on my pc this weekend. I used to be able to double click the block and edit the attributes in the editor. Now, I can't change any values. I can only get to the dialog that shows info on the block and when I right click, I only have a few commands come out of the flywheel. I rebooted, but no go.
